Great service very attentive wait staff. The food came out quickly. Now I am biased because I live in an area that has a large selection of Middle Eastern and Greek cuisine. The food was not bad just super basic no spice bland. The items where extremely overpriced , $30 for a iskander kebob( chopped up Gyro meat chopped up bread and special sauce) this should be a $10 item. My meal for 4 people with tip(20%) for two appetizer 4 entrées and one glass of wine and baklava (that was great!) was $188 !! I still can't believe how much they charged !! read more

We had a lovely Valentine's Day dinner here! The server was knowledgeable and attentive. Wonderful White Bean Salad, lentil soup, and Falafel. Love this place for lunch, the only time you an get the BEST fries in town and a gyros sandwich! Took family for gyros. Was a bit disappointed in how the meat seemed chopped in small pieces instead of nice browned strips. The meat was mixed with chopped lettuce and watery taziki sauce , a warm pile of yuck! Next time we will order sauce and lettuce on side and ask for feta. read more

The best Greek food we have had in the Sarasota/Venice area. I have only been here once, but I can confidently say the gyro meat is the best I have ever had. My husband and I had been running errands all day and randomly googled nearby restaurants that were open for a late lunch. This popped up and had good reviews so we have it a shot. We do not regret it one bit! We shared the mezze sampler platter and the gyro platter and everything was fantastic! The gyro meat was moist and tender and not too salty, which is a first! I feel like at other places gyro meat is often dry and really salty but not here. It was absolutely perfect. My husband and I agree we will be back very soon and will definitely bring our friends and family here when they visit! read more

Loved this place! Came here on a whim sort of late, at 8pm. They were closing at 9. Appreciated that waiter took our order quickly. The chicken skewers were probably the best I've ever had in my life. All the options on the mezze platter complemented each other in flavor and presentation. The pistachio bomb lived up to the reviews but I don't think I'd order it out out the mezze platter again. The staff were attentive, honest and funny. I enjoyed sitting outside however it was sort of dark. not sure what's up with lighting. Would definitely come here again. read more

I lived in Turkey for two and half years so I know good Mediterranean food and this place does too. I had the Iskender Kabob and completely enjoyed it. Portions are large, so we took quite a bit to go home for later. They have a nice mix of Turkish and Greek food. Knowing the competition between those two countries, the selection here blended very well. We will return. read more

Had another very nice meal at Bodrum. We opted for the appetizer sampler and a nice Chardonnay. The sampler is truly awesome. Comes with seven items and warm pita. The Spanish Chard(Eli) was clean and light. Great compliment to the meal. Ample portions as we're still working on eating it! Service by Dennis was excellent. Attentive but did not hurry us. We have seriously missed getting great Mediterranean/Turkish food since we moved from California 3 years ago. Today we were blown away with the best food we had ever had. The staff, the food, the care, the love. It all shows in the flavors. Best Kibbeh rolls. The Pistachio Bomb blew us away. It was our first time at Bodrum, but won't be our last. Six of us enjoyed appetizers, wine, entrees and dessert and every bite was delicious. One of the couples lived in the Middle East and they are the ones that picked the restaurant. They know Mediterranean food. Everyone enjoyed their dish and our shared apps and desserts. The staff was very friendly and Lisa served us very well. The atmosphere is clean and pleasant and perfect for the reunion conversation we wanted to enjoy. Try it! We have been desperately seeking Middle Eastern food since we moved to town. This is the closest to the Middle East it we could find and it was really wonderful. Such clean, tasty food with rather large portions. The service was fantastic and it has a sweet little atmosphere. Bodrumis tucked inside a passageway that appears quite dark when you enter, but as you walk to the far side where the passageway ends there is daylight that provides light for their outdoor tables. Inside the restaurant is divided into a few smallish dining rooms. The ambiance is inviting and cheerful but sparse. Service is professional, knowledgeable and attentive. We had the special appetizer of yogurt with pistachios, tomatoes and herbs, and fried calamari. The yogurt app was very good especially when accompanied by delicious pita. The calamari was heavily breaded and I thought too heavy, but my companions loved it. For entrees, two of us had the salmon which we ordered medium rare and was perfectly cooked. It had a delicious creamy dill and caper sauce that complimented the salmon. One of us had the beef kofta which he said was perfectly spiced. Entrees are served with very flavorful rice and a small salad. My only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars is because there are virtually no vegetables on the menu other than salad. Otherwise, I recommend Bodrum highly. You won't be disappointed. read more

We love this place, every dish is tasteful and authentic. Lentil soup, mix dips, halibut wrap all so delicious. Dinner New York steak with peppercorn sauce was excellent and at reasonable price. WHAT A GREAT FIND!!! Definitely not a restaurant you'll stumble across! Our friends took us there and boy were we pleased! The service was excellent! Our Server Dasha engaged us in conversation, helped us navigate the menu, kept our table clean and just did an overall EXCELLENT job. In a reflection of our service was the food we got! We had fish, lamb & beef and Halva with Turkish coffee for dessert. EVERYTHING was OUTSTANDING. The food, service and experience was a tremendous value for what we paid!! My only complaint was I got the 'Special of the Day' which was Lamb Kabob but I only got 1 kabob, I definitely had the smallest quantity of food than anyone else at the table. If I had just 1 more kabob, I would have definitely given this restaurant 5 stars. read more

Have eaten here twice & each time the food was fresh & tasty. The Babaganoush is so good! Their Sample Platter is a great way to taste & share many items. The gyros was so tender, tasty & thinly sliced; terrific. Outdoor seating is great, linen tablecloths, nice setting. If I were them I would add linen napkins instead of paper but maybe they've gone to paper because if Covid. Staff wear masks. read more

Hey! Please dont miss this place, its located in the breezy way in the back left side on Miami Ave across the street from the parking lot. This Turkish / Greek restaurant is a breath of fresh air. European style plating and true European cooks in the Kitchen! The food is a winner and full of flavors. The lollipop lamb plate was soooooo good, and the combination plate which gives you a taste of a good part of the menu was fun! I am from New York City and extra picky about food in general as I was once married to a chef. More importantly, my husband is half Turkish and our family members live both in the US and Turkey. We eat mostly homemade Turkish foods at family gatherings and holidays. It is one of my favorite cuisines in the entire world and one of the most healthful-which makes it a guilt free pleasure. We are in the process of moving to the Venice area and think this is one of the very best Turkish restaurants we have ever been to. We have visited multiple times during house hunting and while checking on our home build. Every experience here has been superlative, both during snow bird season and now in late August. We have tried a wide variety of the menu items and the quality of everything is perfection. We have also always had both friendly and competent service. Tansel was our most recent waiter and he represents the outstanding friendliness of the Turkish culture we know so well. His menu suggestions were perfect. We cannot believe our luck to be moving to such a friendly and beautiful place and to already have a favorite restaurant-the kind that used to be plentiful in NYC, family owned where the proprietor puts everything into an experience for his guests that represents his character and warmth. read more

We came here for lunch. I personally believe that this is currently the best restaurant on Venice island. The summer lunch menu is a great idea, and it offers a great opportunity to sample their menu. So far I have only had the various pita/gyro wraps, but I will back soon to try more of their mezze dishes. read more

On my first visit, I run into a waiter who gestured me away with the back of hand and didn't speak when I asked for a table. However rest of the staff was friendly. On second visit, they were not able to bring extra yogurt for kids to the table (not on the menu). So service can probably be improved and food is not good enough to compensate for it. We dined here midafternoon on 1/10/24. The food, service and greek wine were excellent. The ambiance is very nice inside. We enjoyed a Small Meze Platter, a Chicken Wrap, a Gyro and took an order of Baklava to go. It was such a fine experience we are looking forward to going back soon! Highly recommended! read more
