Love Bodrum. Have been going there for years and have never once gotten poor service or a poor quality meal.

In short: A Turkish restaurant that brings together Greek, middle eastern and Mediterranean cuisine. I was in the area for just a couple of hours and wanted to find a delicious lunch spot, Yelp never steers me wrong. I love Greek food but I am not well versed in Turkish food so I will preface with that. We started with the Greek Saganaki. This is prepared differently than traditional saganaki. They still use Halloumi cheese but it is breaded and pan fried. Normally this is fried at the table. It was good but I prefer the Greek style I am accustomed to. We also ordered their hummus with pita bread. The pita bread is not made there but it was good and tasted as if it was. The hummus is prepared differently with a lot of pistachios as a topping. It was a delicious take. The main star was the Iskender Kebab. It's Greek gyro meat with pita bread, chef's tomato with a yogurt and butter sauce, we got it over potatoes and it was DIVINE! Apparently this is the king of Turkish kebabs and I know why now... it was so flavorful and I plan on ordering it at every Turkish restaurant for comparison. Lastly, we ordered a baklava for dessert. The Turkish baklava version is heavy with pistachio as compared to Greek which has more walnuts. It was good but I prefer the Greek version. Service was friendly and fast. What a charming find in downtown Venice. The restaurant is pretty and spacious. I liked that it wasn't loud-our party of 6 could easily carry on conversation. My dinner was FABULOUS. I had the halibut with a creamy caper sauce. The halibut was cooked to perfection and the sauce was light and brightened up with tomatoes. I ate every bite. I also tried the swordfish-delicious! The atmosphere was pretty decent for a small place, if I had to say anything, maybe they can update a few spots in the back going to bathroom etc, otherwise nice. The food came out At timely fashion. We had special yogurt dip for an appetizer and it was very nice, we had the gyro entree and it was really good, also had the filet pita and it was good not blow you away good but good. Do not skip out on the pistachio bomb (not on the menu, yet offered often as a special)... I could eat the whole thing myself as a meal! It is what I believe to be lebneh with spices, pistachios, roasted red peppers, and olive oil served with fluffy pita triangles. My go to entree are the chicken kebabs with French fries (super crispy outside, pillowy soft inside), which comes with a salad. The staff is fantastic! My Dad was on a strict grain free diet, and our server without being asked or hesitating, brought him crudités so he could enjoy the pistachio bomb! By far the best meal I've had in a long time. We had Mixed Grill and Gyro platter, along with Pistachio Bomb as appetizer. The flavors all leap off the plate. This place was delicious! The babaganoush was so good. We split a meat platter and I was able to eat everything except the beef because apparently it had breadcrumbs and were not gluten free but the mini lamb chops were perfect and I am very picky about lamb, I don't like a strong gamey taste to it. The chicken was also delicious. My only complaint was the extra charges for cucumbers and a "tortilla" that was the gluten free replacement for the naan that I am allergic to. The food is very good and so is the service but.. I was surprised by the automatic 20% tip on my bill. I don't know if that was the case on my prior visits but I don't think so. My bad, but if it was, I surely left a 20% tip on top. I understand that usually is the case with 6 or more but we were 5. That aside, I wouldn't leave 40%. I love this locally owned Turkish restaurant! We ate here during a week day and were definitely not disappointed. The restaurant was pretty busy and I could clearly see why after dining here. This meal was nothing short of exceptional, despite the photo I snapped. My partner and I both had our hearts set on the filet mignon wrap, but our server, Tansel, recommended the halibut wrap--and what a game-changer! It was hands-down the best halibut we've ever tasted, perfectly cooked with a sauce that looked rich but was delightfully light and flavorful, elevating every bite. I still went for the filet mignon, ordered medium-rare, and it was flawlessly cooked, tender, and practically melting in my mouth with no trace of chewiness. The salad was wilted and ended up in the trash. And can you please stop making a mound out of your rice? It looks ridiculous. The gyro sandwich, nothing to talk about. Bland. We get better Gyro sandwiches at the pop-up down the street. I also ordered stuffed grape leaves. Mushy. Inedible. The hummus tasted like it came from Publix. What has happened here? We recently tried this restaurant for the first time after hearing great things from a friend. Despite the mixed online reviews--especially regarding customer service--we decided to give it a shot, as we're a pretty easy-going group and often take reviews with a grain of salt. I was genuinely excited to try this new-to-us spot on the island and really hoped to love it. My husband, our 7-year-old daughter, and I arrived first and were seated while waiting for two more guests, including another child. We explored the menu and ordered appetizers, which were delicious. When it came time to order entrées, I asked the server for suggestions for the kids, since they tend to prefer standard kid-friendly items and there was no kids' menu presented to us. We ultimately ordered chicken kebabs and fries for them. However, shortly after, we noticed another table with children was offered a kids' menu--something we didn't even know existed until then. When we asked for one, we were surprised to find it included much more appropriate and affordable options for our kids (ages 7 and 8), clearly marked for children under 10 at a 1/3 of the adult prices. When the meals arrived, the kids' orders--and one adult dish--were incorrect. To their credit, the staff corrected it, and everything we ate was tasty. We also tried a couple of desserts, which were just okay. The biggest surprise came with the bill: a 20% service charge had been added. While I later confirmed it was listed on the menu for parties of five or more, it still felt a bit excessive for a relatively small group. It also felt misleading that the receipt still suggested tip percentages at the bottom. My husband and I always tip a min of 20% regardless of service quality, but we prefer to make that decision ourselves--not have it decided for us. Overall, the food was good, but the experience left us feeling disappointed--mostly due to the lack of transparency and service hiccups. If we return, it'll likely be for takeout only. read more

The wife and I stopped in to this lovely little restaurant for a late lunch today and were glad we did. Lisa, our waitress, told us about the daily specials and I had to change my mind about what I was going to eat. I thought I would have my usual gyro sandwich but the halibut wrap in a white sauce with kalmata olives sounded great. So great that my wife ordered the same thing. That almost never happens! And it tasted even better than it sounded. Generous portions of flaky halibut on a soft warm pita was just great. Looking forward to trying other things on the menu. Maybe I'll have a gyro next time!
