Three discerning gals, who eat out frequently, had a fabulous lunch this week at Nikki's. The service was 5 star, as our server was helpful, attentive and very pleasant. The food was delicious and rated 5 star, as well. We ordered the tri dip appetizer, spanakopita, and gyro platters, which included Greek salad and roasted Greek potatoes. Everything was made fresh and plentiful. We asked for take home containers. The place is casual, pleasant, and very comfortable. The owner/chef came out and we applauded. My wife and I visited Nikki's Greek Cafe for the first time today and we were absolutely delighted about everything. It's a charming little restaurant with friendly service and delicious authentic Greek food. The owner, Achilles, graciously took the time to come out and speak with us for quite a while, telling us about the restaurant, his family, and his long history in the restaurant business. Having lived in Tarpon Springs for a while, I know a thing or two about authentic Greek food, and Nikki's is as authentic as it gets! The service was extremely attentive and personable from the minute we walked in the door until the time we left. We enjoyed Octopodi, Saganaki, Lentil Soup, Greek Salad, and Pastitsio. For the one bad review left referencing frozen entrees...Wow They must be buying some really high end frozen entrees. We had lunch here today and ordered the trio of dips, a couple glasses of wine, gyro platter with Greek fries (nicely seasoned), Pastitsio and green beans, moussaka, and baklava. The Greek food was all very good, feta cheese used was on point, Greek potatoes and fries were one of my favorites don't change them, and the Pinot washed it all down with a smile. If I had to give some Critique I would say out of everything we had the thing that was slightly off was a touch too much cinnamon in the Pastitsio, but otherwise great food. Another stop on our tour was Nikki's Greek Cafe owned by Achilles Kouskoutis. We ate lunch here and I got the Greek salad with gyro meat(special). The restaurant is small but flavorful and the service was excellent. Although stuffed, the owner brought out his baklava which is the best I have ever eaten- light, flaky and packed with nuts and honey- a must. I will have to return for sure read more

I want people to support this place. The wait staff is friendly and the food is really wonderful. I've had the gyro 2x now and it is so good ($18.95). I had the greek fries with feta and spice and they are amazing. But, our favorite was the calamari. The breading is very light and with tzatziki sauce, it is delicious. We also sampled the greek meatballs and while very good and interesting flavor, not sure I would get again for $19. My family member had smelt, and they were good also, but I'm guessing not fresh and not sure that would be a future choice. The lemon rice soup is also very good, but this doesn't look color wise like avgolmomo soup most people are familiar. The greek salad here is greek traditional without lettuce and super delicious. I love the clean new look inside. It's pretty affordable for really good traditional food. read more

Went here a month or so ago with husband for a lunch date and were thoroughly disappointed. Got appetizer of Greek meatballs- overcooked and burnt. Ordered a Greek burger - looked like a McDonald's hamburger cut in half and then cooked a bit longer until hard and served on a pita. omg! i spent my money and time driving to nikki's to get a takeout order of their stuffed grape leaves dinner. first time and last time. they were so bad! under cooked, over salted and pepped, so tuff, fell apart trying to eat the mess because they weren't even rolled correctly, asked for a lemon sauce and got nothing, not even a slice of lemon!!!! i couldn't believe how bad they were! i can't believe the horrible oil the gave me for my greek salad...no herbs or lemon, just horrible cheap oil, really bad! i called the owner the next day and he was a total jerk and began putting me down for not liking his horrible food. frankly just stay away he's really a moron and i don't know how he can even stay in business! i paid $25 for nothing. i'm going to have to go to hellas in tarpon springs and get some dolmas that are fantastic and even put beef in them, not a little essence like nikki's. this town needs a great place to get some dolmas that are fantastic!!!! read more

Authentic greek food! Finally! Avgolemono was made perfectly--honestly reminded me of my yiayia's. The tiropita, chicken souvlaki and half chicken were all fantastic, and perfectly spiced. I'm SO happy to finally have a restaurant in this town that isn't afraid of herbs and flavor . Very cute, cozy little spot with authentic food and reasonable prices. Things are expensive everywhere and food costs are exorbitant, but most of what we ordered was between $12-25/plate which seems to be the norm for all restaurants locally. I'd gladly pay that for delicious food that takes me back home, even if only for an hour. We will definitely return! My only gentle suggestion to ownership is to train the sweet blonde waitress a smidge more, she kept forgetting stuff which made it hard for the kitchen to time apps/meals/desserts. Totally sweet and professional, just needs a bit more training on the menu and how to time orders to help the kitchen when it's busy. read more

This was my second time there the first time I had the Greek salad with the gyros, sliced meat on top and it was excellent. We went back for dinner another day. I had the lamb chops with risotto and a side Greek salad, they were cooked perfectly. They have very good pricing. We were excited to try a new Greek restaurant, but the food tasted reheated and lacked the freshness that defines authentic Greek cuisine. Customers expect meals made to order--not something resembling a frozen entrée. If you can't serve food fresh, don't put it on the menu. A visible kitchen window showing dishes being prepared would help restore trust. Until then, this feels more like a Greek Stouffer's than a true taverna. First time there with friends and we thoroughly enjoyed it, being new there would be a few things in my opinion I would look at. I would remove the oversized napkin dispensers and give linen tablecloths, this would also make more room on the table, also a wedge of lemon with each entree would be very nice and the other thing is I would adjust the timing of the entrees coming out so that the appetizers have been finished and cleared. Have been searching for 3 years for the best Greek food in Sarasota and have finally found it at Nikkis Greek Cafe. From the service through the food everything was exceptional. The staff is friendly and extremely accommodating. The restaurant is small with only about 9 tables but well worth any type of wait. A special thanks to Nikki and her father for a providing a wonderful dinner for myself and friends. One suggestion, need to bring in some Roditis wine to complete the perfect experience. read more

We were very excited to try this new spot, as we love Greek food. The server was very friendly. They were out of 2 different wines we asked for.. when asked what the soup of the day was, they didn't have one... and reported they were out of pastitsio about 25 min after we ordered. The saginaki and fried meatballs came out very burnt, likely due to too hot of oil. I was disappointed because this place has a lot of potential. Maybe it's due to growing pains!
