They're very nice. I enjoyed the regular classes. But, they try to get you to invest time and money in a program.

What an amazing and powerful experience! After 11 years I made the choice to retake Body and Brain Yoga's signature workshop, "Finding Trueself". My original intention for retaking the workshop was to gain a deeper connection with myself. I didn't expect to uncover some deeper issues within my subconscious. It was truly a blessing to awaken, release, and heal with 11 other souls who also share similar issues. I've been going to the Scottsdale sitefor 2 months now. This has been life changing for me. Both my stress and anxiety levels have decreased dramatically and my sleephas improved. Masters Jang and Dahari explain the Oriental beliefs behind tai chi and Dahn yoga and show patience with beginners while challenging those who are long time members. I love them both. Body & Brain Yoga & Tai Chi has played a major role in my personal development and perception of self. It has become a sort of sanctuary for me, where I can go either virtually or physically to release stagnancy and connect deeper with myself. The practices are simple yet very effective, and you see results and relaxation almost instantly. My time with B&B has shown me just how powerful the mind is, as well was the importance of taking care of oneself. It certainly teaches discipline and dedication (really just making time for one's self/well-being), and it's incredibly worth it! My advice: be patient with yourself. As I've discovered, that which I find some resistance towards is often the next thing I need in my journey. There have been times where I almost let my excuses pull me from doing a class, but those are the days when I tend to have the most important breakthroughs. + I ALWAYS feel better, more clear and connected after EVERY class - without a doubt. I'm retired and travel frequently. I'm a member of the Body & Brain Yoga and take advantage of my membership benefits and use their studios in various towns whenever I travel (included in the membership). Their simple Yoga and Tai Chi exercises are very effective and I've healed my neck and shoulder pain in just a few weeks. The Scottsdale center has great energy. Master Sun Gwang is a very experienced instructor and she has a big heart. Every once in a while life gives you a gift. The gift of a body that is touch with the brain. Through "Body & Brain's" teachings, which incorporates Yoga & Taichi, one is much more able to communicate and build health and a healthy lifestyle from within. I was fortunate enough to meet Master Kim. 35 years before my first meeting with Master Kim I had a 300 lb box fall directly on the top of my head from 8 feet high. Luckily I was young... about 36 years old and I was fortunate enough not to have broken my neck. However, for the next 35 years I was unable to turn my head more than 15 degrees to either side. Sure, one learns to live with it and that range of motion became the norm for me. Util I walked into Body & Brain... which my wife has been attending classes for years, and spent just an hour with Master Kim. Yeah, I know you are thinking snake oil or some kind of temporary adjustment and pseudo psychological healing.... Same thing I thought when my wife used to beg me to go in and see Master Kim. I am here to tell you that within an hour my head would turn to the right and left at a full 45 degrees. You know how it is an effort to get up off the floor even though you are not overweight? You know that old bones and old body excuse. Yes, in that same first hour, I learned to stand from sitting position with ease. One hour of my afternoon made a drastic change in my life. So... retiring very soon and yes, I will take Master Kim's classes to get even better and take this 67 year old bodybuilder body and turn it into a flexible machine. My 66 year old wife can do it and so will I. Like they say... al the money in the world doesn't do you a bit of good if you are not well enough or strong enough to spend it! read more

I started tai chi with this studio a couple of years ago. They are tremendously helpful to me and my well being.  After just two weeks with them, I was able to get rid of my chronic knee pain (I had 4 months of physical therapy prior and was still suffering). They also helped me to get through the grieving process. In the beginning, I attended classes at the Scottsdale studio, but they switched last year to online classes. I love them both. I am currently taking a zoom live class (and also receiving the recordings) each week. It is so convenient to do the class from the comfort of my own home yet still get the personal help and instruction during the class. This is very valuable as I work on improving my joints for better mobility. I have hip issues with bone on bone and I was in allot of pain to walk. In only 3 weeks of doing this class regularly, I have improved my flexibility, opened my joints for better ease of walking and have released emotional pain I as unknowingly store in my body. There is such a profound sense of peace after doing a session of this class... My body and mind are calmed and I feel centered and lighter in heart and spirit. These benefits are a real gift, especially during these hard times in our world with the pandemic. It is like coming home to myself and tapping into joy. read more

Feeling like a fanatic right now. But I just had to review this location too...because it is that good. Seriously. Every time I take a class here, I walk out feeling SO refreshed and revived. The classes are so great. The stretches are deep and challenging but easy enough for everyone to do. The meditation calms my busy mind and helps bring me back to myself. Sometimes it's really hard to do that - but the instructor is so great at guiding us that even I am able to get myself to calm down (and I'm the kind of girl who cannot relax for the life of me...I'm almost like..a brick). But every time class is over I come out feeling so alive and I can breathe well! The center is very clean and serene. It is simple, and so beautiful. The instructor is so sweet and so insanely strong, but all you will ever feel from her is love. It is different from other yoga places - it is very special. This is a great place to go to heal your body and mind. read more

Maybe this is "real" yoga...but it's not for me. I've done Bikram, Sumits, Vinyasa Flow, lots of other kinds of yoga at various studios. I found this place just strange...(sorry)... More chanting and pounding on your abdomen, I was more bored then getting a workout. Might be good for someone looking for the spiritual side of yoga or older folks just looking to get some moving in. Definitely not a workout. Back to Sumits for me... read more

Before I started Body and Brain yoga over 2 years ago, I was overweight and unhappy. I had tried traditional yoga but I never really got into it. Not sure if it was the stretches or the feeling that I didn't belong with the other people in the class. I started Body and Brain and began to see a change in myself. I was happier, my unhealthy habits seem to just go away and I loved myself. My family and friends also noticed the change too. They began to tell me that I was smiling and laughing more. I visited my friend in AZ a few weeks ago. I am a yoga fan so I searched for a yoga place near her house. The nearest studio I found was Dahn Yoga. It seemed different and interesting, so I decided to give it a try. I dropped in on two classes and the students and the instructors were all welcoming. I am surprised how much I liked their style of yoga. There were things I never expected in a yoga class, but it felt good. I could feel a different sensitivity in my body and I sweat a lot, even though I didn't move as much as in other yoga classes. A pretty enjoyable experience overall, so I would go there again. read more

I came here looking for stress relief. I was having a hard time focusing at work and I felt kind of down all the time. I had no idea what it involved. From Day one, Master Dahn Hwa & Master Brian took a genuine caring position on my well being, Eight months into the training, I've accomplished more positive for my body than in a life time; improvement on health, weight loss, toning, and a few unexpected benefits. Dahn Yoga is a series of slow stretches, meridian openings, Tia Chi, mediation, and the best body feel good I've ever experienced, The support from the trainers and fellow students is unsurpassed. The training has given me a balance of physical, mental, and spiritual peace. We have the choice of furthering our training by optional workshops. I'm pushing Sr. Citizen status in life, and have been a member of many exercise programs. I can sincerely say, this is the only one I've attempted and faithfully stuck with, without forcing myself. Ann H. - Several years ago I started attending Body and Brain and have attended several training classes. The latest class I am attending is the Energy Healing Class. This class is just fabulous. I find myself destressing and the out of body experience is just wonderful. The class allows me to focus on me, my state of mind and body and I find myself floating. The training has carried home with me. I can still feel the tingling sensations in my toes (which was not there before, as I am diabetic and have poor circulation). The overall training has improved both my circulation (no purple legs anymore) and my emotional well-being. I can't begin to tell you how great I feel and how much this is improving my life style.
