Came in here in a hurry for some waxing services and the minute I walked in I immediately knew it was time to relax. The environment is dark with inviting low lights, soothing scents, and calming music. I was checked in quickly and offered a variety of water flavors before receiving a deliciously cold wine glass of cucumber lime water and taken into the waiting room. My service was great and made me excited to try out more of their services. I was offered a to-go cup of some more water, which I accepted and began to inquire on other services I could book soon. I really felt relaxed and like I was in a true spa environment. I will be back again to try more! Oh! But I do need to remember that spas apparently prefer cash tip, so bring cash, because you're going to want to leave a good tip after your great service! read more

THIS PLACE HAS 5 STARS FOR A REASON!!! I treated my wife to a spa day for her Birthday (2/12/2020) and she had an amazing day! After searching high and low for the best deals and places with the best reviews I fell upon this gem of an establishment. I booked over the phone so that I could request a masseuse who could provide a firm massage but you can also book online. I booked a massage, mani, and pedi for around $170. When I dropped my wife off they allowed me to sit with her while she filled out the 1st time paperwork and offered her a beverage, she chose a mimosa. Another guest, also waiting for her massage, raved about how much my wife would enjoy it there and she truly did! When I went back to pick her up 3 hours later (each service was an hour long) she could not stop talking about how lovely she felt and her mani and pedi were beautiful!! I definitely plan on returning to try their services out for myself! Special thank you to the staff that work there! They were all very polite and treated us very well during our visit! I received a gift card from a couple years ago. I made an appointment but needed to cancel. When I called to cancel and reschedule, I was told I would be charged anyway. Granted this was a gift card I was using and was not made aware of any policies when I made the appt. Now they're goibg to charge the one whose name is on the account. Not me. How unfair to this gentleman! He's a senior citizen and has nothing to do with this appointment. This is my 2nd time trying to book with them. I will not bother again. Poor management. read more

I've lived in Gastonia almost 8 yrs and was not familiar with this day spa. I discovered it on Yelp and I'm so glad I did! Today I received a signature botanical facial with Marvi. Absolutely outstanding! Marvi was patience and very accommodating. I was completely relaxed and my skin felt so fresh, soft and clean when I walked out. Very happy with my experience. The ambiance is awesome! Very relaxing, well decorated and clean! Lisa did my hair, we did heavy highlights and a cut (9-10 inches off!), and she did a great job! I've recieved many compliments on my hair. She is very knowledgable and listens to what you want, and takes her time to make sure its done right. Once inside, you quickly forget you are in Gastonia. Once you spend a day, an hour, a drive by for a smoothie, you will be a fan. The ambiance is soothing. I called at 12:04 today to see if I could get in for a massage before 1pm because I had the WORST knot in my neck. They got me in right away. Literally, right away. I never even knew they were hidden over there off Franklin, but it is such a cute and clean place. (which means a lot to this clean freak) Totally comfortable atmosphere. I am so happy I found them! I can't remember the name of the one who gave me the massage (sorry, it was hard to hear anything over the screaming PAIN IN MY NECK... :-D) but she was AMAZING. She spent time focusing on the problem but didn't leave out the rest of my neck and back either. She helped relieve it and loosen it up. It was a great experience. Called them to let them know I was a mile away and would be literally 5 mins late. I was told that they would do a dry cut. Um no I wanted a wash. I booked an appointment for a bikini and leg waxing. Upon calling to inform them I was running a little late due to traffic and to remove the leg waxing because of scheduling (third shift- lack of sleep, unexpected event scheduling & traveling from Rock Hill) I was told there would be a $25 cancellation charge. I explained that I was not cancelling my appointment and on my way. I was placed on hold. Spoke with another woman and was told the same thing. I replied "I could just not come in and you would not get any money." She replied fine and hung up. When I get there, 3 minutes later, I was made to wait past my appointment time then told they had already filled the appointment. There is nothing on the website about service (not appointment) cancelling fees nor on the brochures in their lobby. For as much as they charge, one would think they would be a little more understanding, less greedy and less rude. read more

I was referred to Body Balance by my mother, who had been a long time client. I began using the spa after moving to the area and also took my family there. I've also referred other friends and extended family there. We've used most of their services, massages, pedicures, waxing, hair styling, and facials. All of the ladies who actually perform the services have been wonderful. The spa is very nice and relaxing. However, recently scheduling became a major issue for us. Appointments that were booked at specific times, were suddenly not available at the times scheduled or were no longer with the people requested. Scheduling appointments over the phone became next to impossible as the receptionists weren't able to either understand or complete what was requested. When speaking with the manager at one point, she was very helpful and apologetic, even suggesting that from then on I speak only to her to schedule appointments. However, upon leaving a later message for her, it was never returned (I strongly doubt she received it). My mother also expressed concern in person at an appointment and was blown off. I was sad to learn that we really weren't valued as clients after all, as we did enjoy going there. read more

I was long overdue and in considerable pain when I arrived. I had a very deep tissue massage and expected to be in pain afterwards however because of the coconut water drops that were sold in her gift shop area, I experienced no pain whatsoever only considerable relief.
