The space has a beautiful scent that puts you at ease as soon as you walk-in. I had a signature facial and it really set a new standard for a facial for me. The facial and upper body massage relaxes you, I can't imagine not having a facial with such a nice neck/shoulder/arm massage again. The products they use don't have a strong fragrance -- every detail was perfect. They do give product recommendations after the service but there's no pressure and it doesn't feel sales-y or uncomfortable the way it can at other salons. Highly recommend my facialist Amy!

I confirmed with someone who answered the phone that the injector did indeed add units that did that. Again... without asking me if it was ok. For some reason the person who I spoke to on the phone thinks a consultation will help. However, I already know from experience that once they inject it the only thing that works is letting it wear off and I have to have severe eye strain for 3 months. The injector was also very careless and I bruised like never before. She even just felt sloppy and inexperienced. I'll never go back again. Nothing like the feeling of waking up with eye strain when your eyes should be relaxed! And the shape of my eyes is so terrible and embarrassing.

"The Platza" Having just experienced my first Platza treatment, it only feels right and fair to tell as many people as possible to come on down and experience it! Body by Brooklyn offers a decent assortment of packages that combine spa treatments with the chance to relax and enjoy yourself and escape for a while in their wet lounge; Jacuzzi, sauna, plunge pool, wet and dry saunas....Knowing that this exists and is just a train ride away in Brooklyn, I am definatly looking forward to the winter for the first time in a very long time. Since the weather was so perfect today, I only wanted to spend about 90 minutes inside. That should be enough time to sweat out the remnants of the night before. Sit, soak and sweat...just what was needed. As I was looking around the check in area I noticed a very cool hat with a red star on the front. It looked warm and funky, something fun to wear when it gets cold outside. The receptionist mentioned that it was similar to one of the hats that the Platza Master wears during the Platza treatment. Hmmmm, I thought, interesting! After listening to the description of the treatment, I had to have it. The spa bathing suit provided ample coverage and made me feel like sporty spice. I was told to go into the wet lounge and warm up. Then, after 2-3 minutes, in walked Ben, the Platza Master. He had on his own funky hat and a bathing suit. I stepped outside to stand under a cool shower for a few minutes. Inside the Russian Sauna, Ben proceeded to lay down towels and fill up buckets of cool water. One bucket was for the oak branches to soak in, and the other bucket was for Ben to dump cool water over his body as the treatment progressed. First you lay down on the warm towels and he places another towel on your head that was soaked in cool water. Next you have the branches dragged across your back and up and down your legs. The feeling is indescribable, only that it feels like you would think a car feels like when it goes through a car wash, only better. There is tapping, brushing, and gentle strokes that turn your mind to mush. There is a brief segment where Ben runs his hands very firmly up your spine and at that point your body surrenders, done. Officially melted, relaxed and slightly hallucinating (but in a good way) you sit up and the front of your body gets the treatment as well. There is nothing else that quite compares. At this point you'll need hand over hand help to put your flip flops back on and head out to the plunge pool. "There, go in" said Ben, pointing to the next stop. There meaning the plunge pool. Square, tiny and very cold. I think I looked at him with a face that said "huh?, nobody said nothin' about this part." He pointed again and said "go". I did. He said "again". I did. I stayed in for about 5 seconds. There were bright colors spinning around in my brain and I liked it. Ben walked me over to the lounge chair and wrapped a towel around my head and started to massage my scalp, face and I think my shoulders. He left the towel on my head and adjusted it perfectly so nobody could see the dopey grin on my face. Then he wrapped up my feet, pushed back the lounge chair into full recline mode and told me to take a nap. This was the best $44 dollars I have ever spent. Hangover gone, full relaxation experienced, clarity achieved and starting a Platza fund jar tomorrow morning. You must go there. read more

The spas door entrance looked like we were going into a Drug treatment center. The spa was riddled with gnats. The towels and robes were hard, evidence of no fabric softener used to wash them. the windows were filthy where we sat to eat. The only reason I've even rated them is because I had to to continu. We were served dollar tree plastic cups at the spa which was not cheap which surprised us all. We made a large food order at noon which wasn't ready until we had to go into our treatments. At that point it's was a whole hour and we had not eaten. Until we asked we Weren't told there was a delay so we had to cancel the food and waited until 3pm to eat. The young lady in charge of our party got some of our parties orders wrong and mixed up a crucial meal order. She then gathered the gift giveaways after we moved to go eat and put them back behind the counter and was about to give them away to another party right in front of us. She kept placing the blame on our coordinator who originally did my scheduling. There could have been a huge allergic reaction because one of my sister didn't eat shrimp and she was given the shrimp plate and the young lady kept going back and forth after we told Her she'd made a mistake. She butchered all of our names except one of us. Showing no effort to try to pronounce them correctly. The place was dated with no aromatic calming scents around to make it spa like. The best part of the spa was my masseuse. She was amazing!!!!! She was calming, relaxing and on point with her duties. Side note - I paid for 50 minutes but I received 30 minutes. I was just ready to go home after that. Not able to recommend this place and I'm upset that I paid for this. Sorry One last thing, there was only one bathroom for everyone and only two showers working. The one that wasn't working had a n old paper sign on it with black masking tape. Just cheap and ghetto DO NOT WATSE YOUR TIME HERE!! read more

Let's be honest, I went into the experience convinced it was going to suck (if you read some reviews you'll see what I mean), but I have to admit, it was not as bad as I had anticipated. The girls at the front desk did not seem to know what is going on and were frazzled, but they were pleasant at least. Once we were all on the same page for our large party, things moved along better. They have an issue with the supplies (ie: towels, robes, flip-flops). I barely even saw a towel in the whole place- they were THAT scarce. We had to hunt down a staff member for flip-flops and the robes were dingy white, which was kind of yucky, but the actual facilities are very clean and the locker room shower room was really pretty nice. Again, they really should try to get a handle on the towel situation. NO towels at a spa? Come on guys. The bar/food area is very pleasant. We did the brunch, which was basic but good (salad, scrambled eggs, bacon, breads, fruits). The drinks are pretty pricey, but you do get a comped mimosa or bloody Mary with brunch. I didn't much care for the bartender on duty. She was not very friendly or gracious, at all and I hated having to deal with her. You shouldn't feel that way at a place that promotes relaxation. It's definitely very Brooklyn. There are some rough edges and of course it's a diverse crowd, which I like. I'd go again and maybe even take my husband. It's kind of a bargain. 65 bucks for brunch, a drink and 5 hours in the wet lounge? That's not bad at all. PS Bring a bathing suit, it's co-ed. read more

pleasant facilities. The receptionists were quite pleasant and professional. The therapist was respectful but lacked engagement. She kept taking her hand off of the body during the service, for purposes not related to getting the stones. The massage medium was cold. Her sequence lacked a smooth flow, her techniques were haphazard. For example she cleansed my right foot with the warm towel but then moved on to the left with no warm towel used the stones on the left foot then returned to the right foot with the stones. She only inquired of pressure or temperature of the stones after a reaction. She never reconfirmed the service. She also wore a glove during the service because of a cut which is fine. However, because the service was not reconfirmed and I was not informed of the glove, I had to ask what was happening as it felt like she had started doing a scrub. Also, consider some rearranging and privacy. For example the product station should be in another location not on the way to the treatment rooms. The locker room should have changing rooms to offer privacy. Signage everywhere but not tastefully presented, just stuck on the walls. Garbage can by the water station doesn't work, I had to touch the bin to open it rather than using the foot pedal. Treatment room lacked character. The equipment is noisy. Overall lovely facility and concept. Needs a little more attention to detail to take it to the next level though. read more

" A Birthday Spa Party Gone Wrong! Had a fabulous time celebrating my friend's birthday at the spa, but unfortunately, things took an unexpected turn. As we were whispering excitedly in the front area, the spa manager approached us and casually mentioned that she could hear us at the front desk (which it was around the corner) . Talk about a major buzzkill! After the birthday girl enjoyed her relaxing massage, it was time for me and my girls to head out. But guess what? As I was leaving, I realized my wallet was missing from my robe! I turned the place upside down searching for it, but it was nowhere to be found. I immediately approached the spa manager to report the incident, hoping for some understanding and assistance. However, she initially acted clueless and denied any knowledge of the situation. ‍ It was disheartening to see that she didn't seem to care about my predicament. Instead, she focused more on charging my missing card! Seriously? Today marked my second visit to this spa, but it will definitely be my last. The lack of concern and empathy displayed by the spa manager was truly disappointing. My boyfriend treated me to a spa day. I had the best experience here. From the moment I entered I was greeted warmly and taken care of by the front desk associates. They are so organized with hygiene cleanliness. There's an Inbox for unused pens to fill out the intake form, and there's an Outbox for used pens that later get disinfected before going back into the Inbox. Genius! The staff is wonderful! Professional, courteous and attentive. The place is an immaculate, cosy, retreat in Brooklyn. Good food, multiple drink choices, ambience to drift off into a sweet bliss. My massage was out of this world! Please. If you're fortunate enough to know the benefits of Shiatsu massage, let me tell you about my therapist Aranya. She will change your life. I'm an LMT so I know quality of touch and confidence from mastery in the art of massage. Aranya didn't disappoint. For 90 minutes straight, she stayed connected with me and would check in to see how I'm doing. I was absolutely renewed afterwards. I also had a microdermabrasion facial by Angela. She is a lively talkative woman. Very skilled in her craft. I would absolutely recommend this place either for couples, singles, or intimate groups. Update: After writing this review I reached someone at the business and a return of our ID's has been worked out. They were delivered to us this evening by a very nice employee. Just in time for my mom to catch her flight. We just had a very disappointing experience. We arrived at 10 when they open, the hot tub was empty and being filled. We were told it would be ready in 30 minutes. It didn't end up ready until 11:20. It was very noisy as it was filling and we were disappointed to not have use of 1/4 of the services. It made sitting in the lounge unpleasant. I also noticed very large water bug crawling around in the main wet lounge area so I had to tell the staff about it. When we complained as we were leaving they offered a 10% discount for next time. Pretty pathetic. I told the manager we wouldn't come back and we left. They did not return our ID's!!! Now we are in a battle with the staff trying to get our ID's returned. I called 5 Times, have been put on hold for 5 minutes and then told I would get a call back. Still waiting on that call. I wanted to treat my girlfriend to a nice, romantic day of relaxation for New Years Eve. A spa Day was the perfect solution for this occasion. When a previous reservation that I made was unexpectedly cancelled by another spa, I was fortunate enough to find Body by Brooklyn and book a last minute spa day for my lady. This will be our go to spa of choice in Brooklyn hands down. The facility was incredible clean and the staff was very hospitable. We booked the VIP lounge for an hour of private lounging with cane with a steam bath, jacuzzi and champagne. We followed that up with a couples massage. Jennifer was absolutely amazing and touched on all those tight spots in my neck and back. The wet lounge was also great with a hot jacuzzi, cold bath and sauna. I love Body by Brooklyn. I talk about it all the time and bring as many people there as I can because I want them to have the experience of being thhhere. When you're inside, there, it's such a beautiful sanctuary, far from the rush of city life. It's truly an oasis experience. It's clean and quiet, super well maintained and has everything you could want and more. The wet lounge is lovely, with 2 saunas, a very steamy steam room, just the way I like it, a huge jacuzzi and a cold plunge. Then there is the spacious lounge where you can sit in front of a real fireplace. It's such a treat. All the staff are wonderful and friendly and I'm so grateful for this space where I know I can get away from it all anytime I need a retreat, and come out feeling refreshed, nourished, rejuvenated and soaked in goodness! read more

My masseuse Ron Desir was phenomenal, professional, and great at the art of CBD massage. However, my message started later because they did not provide Ron with the correct client's name. The female locker room was absolutely disgusting, the mirrors were dirty, the floor was dirtier, and the lockers wouldn't open or close properly. My guest and I all needed staff to come and unlock our lockers due to the locks not accepting our combinations. The spa has the right Idea, but the cleanliness is not there. All the staff was friendly, but I can't get over how unclean the locker room was. I will come back to see Ron, but I'll not wear even a flip-flop in there, I'll wear a hazmat suit. I would honestly like to know the name of the company that handles the PR for this spa so I could hire them for my own company. They are on every blog and review in the city but sadly don't come even close to living up to the rep. I read about them on City search where they had some good reviews then read about them again on the Clinton Hill Foodie website. These tow sites painted vastly different pictures of this spa. I thought the foodie review was nothing more than a few x employees crying sour grapes so I decided to give them a try. BIG mistake! One of the worst experiences I've ever had. Honestly the best spa I've booked to date ! The ladies at the front desk were so warm and welcoming. Made sure to fully walk me through the process without making it feel rehearsed. Body By Brooklyn, has the most beautiful atmosphere and the designs are gorgeous! The locker room is clean and fully stocked with everything you might need. And the mirrors are perfect for vain selfies with amazing lighting. The bar is fully stocked ! The hot tub, ice bath, two saunas and steam room were all in the same section but yet totally easy to have privacy. This place was amazing! Stephanie did a great job taking care of my girlfriend and myself. Maja and Elizabeth did a wonderful job doing the massages for my girlfriend and I. Excellent service, very informative & knowledgeable, very friendly. The VIP area was also awesome. You get your privacy with no rush or pressure to finish up. Music that you can control via xm radio, dimmable lights, jetted tub & chips with salsa and guac. A bottle of champagne which we didn't drink for personal reasons but still an awesome accommodation nevertheless. Wonderful spa! I visited Body By Brooklyn on Saturday for the first time on the suggestion of a friend who is a bathhouse aficionado. Check-in was a breeze and the women who worked in the front desk were welcoming, kind and excited. The changing rooms are super clean and serene-- starting the spa experience from the moment I walked in. The bathhouse itself is spacious and awesome-- much bigger saunas and steam rooms than any other place I have been in the city. They have lemon water available in the spa which was super refreshing. The menu catering to the food allergies was very much appreciated. The bartender Tonino. The drinks he made were everything. Chris help set up the event for me. She's a doll. Justin was my host. On Friday, April 20, 2018 it was my first time going to Body by Brooklyn. I am a 60 young woman and I had a fantastic time. I was there from 12 noon to 6 pm. I had a massage done by a nice respectful man name Amadou. The pressure was perfect. He is very skilled. I really needed that Swedish massage. The atmosphere is calm and relaxing. I have been here many times (7 or 8 times). I'm done giving them anymore chances or any more of my money. There service is terrible. They are unprofessional. Very slow pace. They do not cater to the customer to have a relaxing experience. The therapist are inconsistant with level of training. You never know what you will receive when going into the room. I am a spa person i have been to this spa 2 x.. so i decided that i wanted to plan a spa party there for my birthday next week. I have been calling this place for 2 weeks straight going on the thid week. the only person who handles events"crystal" is never there and when she is supposely there, she never answers or returns your phone call. This customer service at this place is horrible and that crystal girl needs to be fired immediately. this is bad for business, your customers she not be begging or hounding you to respond to them for them to spend their money there... highly pissed off read more

Well, let's start with scoring Body by Brooklyn with a 10. I chose to Score a 10 because my most recent experience and all the other times has been great! I booked my session with Nakkia, and she was awesome from the moment she answered the phone. The team is amazing; they are patient, attentive, respectful and understanding. They assure that guests feel right at home and safe, as far as my own experiences. I had a great time and my massage therapist (Julia), is the best!!!! I enjoy these times of comfort and it was so necessary and worth it. I cannot wait to go back in a few weeks. read more

The spa music and calming environment adds to the relaxing experience. The bathrooms and massage rooms and front area are all very clean and well maintained. Lastly, the prices are very reasonable! You're looking at anywhere between $30-$50 per person for an unforgettable massage. If you pay cash it's always cheaper than paying with card and having to pay additional fees. I was led by the man at the front desk to a room and addressed and placed a beach towel over myself and waited for my masseuse to come in. She did not speak much aside from a couple of checks to make sure that the pressure was OK, and the heat on the hot stones that she used halfway through the massage was OK. The massage was relaxing and truly was full body. Prices here are extremely reasonable and it looks like there is a variety of services, so I will definitely be coming back to try out more. There is also ATM in the lobby as rates are slightly cheaper if you pay in cash/for tipping. The facility was quiet and clean. There is a restroom available as well that is clean. My only critique is I wish the towel wasn't a beach towel as it was a little rough on my skin and not very spa like.

The massage rooms and entire place are clean and quiet. The therapists are kind and patient. I have gone back since for a facial and other massage with some variability.
