This was the first shop I went to in order to receive a quote for the repair of a scratch and dent in my car. I was quoted over half of what ALL other shops and my insurance quoted the damage. They told me they were going to replace parts that don't need to be replaced at all, as well as they might even have to total my car. My car is currently valued at over 30k with about 6k worth of damages. Totaling my car is an absolute scam, and although they do have good reviews, there are also lots of reviews saying basically the same thing I'm saying here, but thank GOD I got out before working with them or signing anything. What really drove me away though was the fact that the person who did my "estimate" wasn't even a tech, and was extremely inconsiderate and rude. My car is fairly new so of course I was upset about the damage, and was just looking to get an idea of what a repair would look like. The woman kept reiterating "wow, this is a new car" over and over again after I told her multiple times that I was very upset regarding damage to a new car and nicely explaining that "yes, I understand it is a newer car." It felt as though she was belittling me the entire time, and then quoted me almost 20k worth of damage. When I expressed that I felt that was high, she insisted that if I went anywhere else that I would be making a mistake and accused me of trying to "cheap out" on a repair. She kept trying to tell me that I should go with them because they are "Honda certified" but there are plenty of other Honda certified repair shops that didn't quote me near this much or treat me with such inconsideration. Fortunately or unfortunately, I've had cars repaired before and I'm not naive to the process but this was hands down THE most unprofessional experience I've ever had. read more

I loved the text updates that kept me informed of every stage of the repair process. I never once had to call for an update because they were always one step ahead. Since my insurance covered a rental, they even arranged for Enterprise to pick me up right from the shop, which made everything so convenient. When I got my car back, it looked brand new -- you would never know it had been damaged. The office staff were warm, knowledgeable, and focused on making sure I was completely happy before leaving. So I wanted to share my experience with Body Works Plus. I recently had a situation where I went to get a wheel alignment on my car. And twenty mins later my car came back with my front bumper in 5 pieces. Needless to say that was an experience I will never forget!! Now I have an italian car. And it was very difficult finding a body shop who was qualified to make the necessary repairs needed. The company that damaged the car was truly amazing and paid for everything upfront which was incredible and I was so grateful to all the district managers who helped me along the way. So after calling several places that were recommended to me for bodywork. All of them were booked out and some of them were booked out for several months. Which was insane to me!! And very concerning as I couldn't drive my car. I had used Body Works Plus when I was in my early twenties and had forgotten about them. But that memory of there work on my Toyota Avalon popped back in my head during this process. I wonder if they are still around? So I googled Body Works Plus - And Hell Yeah they were!! I called them immediately and setup a consultation with Christopher explained what had happened and the problems I was experiencing getting the work done. Christopher was very professional understood my concerns and knew what the car meant to me as she was my baby!! He reassured me the Body Shop could do the work needed. But most importantly agreed to do the work!! This process took 3 weeks to complete as additional fenders and parts were needed. As the damage was more severe after the bumper was removed ...... In the end I was so grateful I had remembered this bodyshop from my youth. And most importantly they were available to do the work at hand. After experiencing a rear-end collision two weeks before Christmas -- the busiest time of year for many auto repair places -- I was desperate to get my barely-driveable car into a body shop for repairs. Someone at Woodie's on McDowell Street recommended that I call Brian Davies at Body Works Plus, and I'm so glad I did. From the start, Brian was amazing, understanding and so accommodating. He let me bring my car in that same day, even though the shop was about to close. I ended up battling the insurance company for a solid month before they declared my car totaled. Brian was an invaluable resource for that entire month, despite the fact that the shop didn't profit from a repair process. He we was always quick to answer the phone or call me back if I left a message, and went above and beyond to explain exactly what was wrong with my car, why the insurance company rejected the initial estimate, and what I could do to make sure I was being given a fair value for my total loss. He made a special call to a local dealer so they could run numbers for me when I wanted to argue that my total loss amount wasn't enough, and when I finally did settle, he offered to hook me up with another dealer who owed him a favor so I could get a great price on a new car. As a woman in my mid-20s who doesn't know much about cars and had never dealt with a total loss, an insurance issue or the process of buying a new car before, I was very overwhelmed. Brian treated me like I was his own daughter, educated me on an unfamiliar process and answered a TON of questions. He was a huge support throughout the whole ordeal. I had my Lexus GS repaired here for damage to the rear bumper and rear light enclosure. The whole process was smooth and convenient, the shop arranged for Enterprise rental car to pick me up, and I dropped of the car at the same location when it's done. Repair was well done, they managed to get me Lexus OEM parts through price matching even though Geico would only pay for after market parts. They even washed the car and cleaned the interior for me and did a little touch up for me. They also cleaned the rims and tires, I drove home like a new car after it's done :) Pat was so patient, helpful, patient, and pleasant to work with! We chose Body Works because of the great reviews and very convenient location. We definitely had some bumps in the road regarding communication throughout the process and at one point, questioned what was going on with our car and if there was extra work being done. It took much longer to get our car back than expected and even though we went through insurance, the cost was much more than we anticipated. We know that when it comes to estimates, they can be poorly done (especially with insurance) and sometimes additional damage is found during repair but the lack of transparency made us very uneasy. However, upon realizing how frustrated and uneasy we were, Kim the Operations Manager went FAR above and beyond to rectify it and make sure we were comfortable with the work that was done on the car. When we discussed it, she explained that she had some new people in the shop which is some of the communication breakdowns came from and she had already used it as a learning experience and owned that they dropped the ball on that. We also learned that much of the delay was caused by delays with the insurance company approving the increase in costs, incorrect parts being sent from the manufacturer multiple times and the increase cost was driven off of the way Hyundai constructed the car and that they only use factory parts. She explained how they do not take any shortcuts to ensure the safety of the vehicles they work on and that, and the challenges they faced were the reasons for the delays. Having that context made us feel much better about the situation and we understood why the timeline and cost was what it was. She even had someone drive several hours to get one remaining part that hadn't come in correctly the day we picked it up so there were no more delays. When we saw the car, it was impeccable and they'd had it detailed on the inside. Kim even provided all of the very extensive documentation on the work done in case we had any remaining doubts about the effort they had put in. All in all, we left smiling and Brian the owner came out to talk to us to also apologize and ask if there was anything else they could do. Thank you to Kim and Brian for all the effort you put in to make the situation right and talking with us. Not impressed! As I was walking in I noticed a sign stating estimates were $125. It's states specifically on the website that estimates are free unless your car is more than 10 years old. I used the Internet to make my appt but she said after I made it she sent me an email asking a different time. I didn't see an email so going by the text I got an hour before my appt I showed up. Please note I called 3 times to try make the appt over the phone and even left a voicemail. After I asked about the fee she "kindly" said she would waive it since we had appt issues. I guess they haven't gotten the memo that estimates are free everywhere else but don't worry it goes towards the price to fix your car if you get it fixed there. So in other words if a place down the street is slightly cheaper you can't go there because you're already invested $125 into these guys. Apparently they don't have a lot of confidence that their prices are competitive. Just a heads up their estimate, including parts and labor was $400 more than the Nissan dealership. Umm, aren't dealerships supposed to be the highest? The icing on the cake was when she told me it would take 24-48 to get the estimate and that was a normal response time. I hate to admit this but this is not first accident. I've been through this process more times than I care to admit and I've never been charged for an estimate and it's never taken longer than 30-45 minutes. Oh and you have to put 50% upfront. I've never been treated like this. How are these people getting great reviews? These people are contributing to those high premiums you pay for your car insurance. Paying for an estimate would only make you less likely to shop around for the best price so they can charge what they want within reason. It's like being charged to test drive a car but if you buy it, it will go towards the price of it??? Don't fall for it there's too many options!! read more

I couldn't recommend Body Works Plus more. I came in without any notice and they immediately took the time to listen to my issue, walk out to the car, work to diagnose the problem and provided both a solution and backup solution (in case the easier fix wasn't adequate). They gave the me the cost of both solutions and were very honest that we should try the cheaper one first, and hopefully we wouldn't have to do more from there, but it was a possibility. Turns out that the cheaper solutions was absolutely PERFECT (this was a cosmetic issue so it's not really subjective), and they did it way faster than I could've imagined. I was honestly amazed by the service and the work they did. The issue was on the back left of my car and when I saw it I even said "wait which side was the problem on again?!" I hate to give Body works plus 1 star however it is the least that google allows. I thought Body works plus had my best interest at hand but there only interest are to take advantage of loop holes in the nc statues that allow them to charge storage fees and then bill them to the insurance company. Imagine dropping your vehicle off for minor damages and the owner pushing and pushing and pushing and pushing for a total loss just to increase time for storage fees. This process allows them to have very minimal labor and very little cost. Im very disappointed on how I was used by someone that I trusted. Upon initially dropping my vehicle off I was encouraged to sign a document already pre typed "INVOKING MY RIGHT TO APPRAISAL" before any estimate was ever done by body works plus. The appraisal document had an appraisers name and info. This appraiser is located in Hickory, NC. This appraiser you will never speak to. This appraiser only has Body works plus best interest. This appraiser will be paid by the body shop and controlled by the body shop. This appraiser will drag out the process just to maximize the profits him and Body works plus. Typically customer would pay their appraiser. But body works plus will pay for the appraiser because they will make thousands of dollars for doing paper work and no repair. The puppet appraiser will unreachable and only responds to the Body shop. This is the newest scam that this body shop has perfected to work in their advantage. Be careful of the fake smile, and the fake we will take care of you. They are only interested in making thousands of dollars for little to know labor. Its probably best that you do not respond with your bullish*t safety lies, and your bullish*t manufacture specifications. Its all a crock of sh*t. More to come.....sit back and wait. DONT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE!! I gave this place no stars. For one as a first time customer the service treatment I received upon entering this shop was pathetic. I stopped by here about some damages on my BMW and Pat the front desk lady never even seen the damage but began to tell me it was going to cost me starting from $1000 to 1500. I said that seem like a lot for a couple scratched and she rudely told me it is because they have all these certificates on their walls which looks like just some posters stuck on the wall so they can in turn exploit customers about their quality. ANYWAY The owner showed up from behind a wall and started to approach me (this was initially intimidating) demanding if I need my car fix I have to make an appointment etc. I then ask who he was because at this time was still talking to Pat .( he rudely told me he was the owner) he never even introduced himself to me but demanded if I have to go there I needed to make an appointment online etc. Rude owner , poor customer service, seems overpriced too at shop . I left and went to Wilbur auto body and they were fantastic!! It cost me $687.00 read more

If you value your vehicle you owe it to yourself to take it to the professional, knowledgeable people at the BWP. The entire staff works for what is best for you, not your insurance company. I purchased my Honda for many reasons but quality and safety are at the top of the list. Brian and John worked diligently not only to put my vehicle back to manufacturers standards but actually protected me from my insurance company who was willing to cut corners and save money by not putting an important section of my vehicle back properly to manufactures standards. A vehicle that I love and more importantly drive my wife and children in. The dedication Brian has to do the right thing is nothing short of amazing. He researched and provided authorized documentation form Honda Corp on how a particular section of the vehicle was to be properly reassembled after an accident and presented this to my insurance company. This and other issues were addressed while serving other customers in his busy schedule and while this was taking place BWP continued to updating me on the progress of my vehicle. My patience was rewarded with my car being returned to me in perfect condition, yes perfect! I know a thing or two about cars in general and I know my own vehicle even better but the tech who painted this was flawless. I continue to see to look at it daily under different light and you just can't tell where the new paint ends and the old paint starts. Nothing short of amazing. Great works guys! I learned a lot with my experience and feel fortunate I selected Body Works Plus and now I understand not all body shops are created equal. That is why they are part of an elite group who are authorized by Honda Corp to correctly fix their vehicles back to OEM standards not "Industry Standards". To be in this group you have to be invited by the manufacturer not just sign up or pay an annual fee. Think about for a minute and ask yourself, who do I want working on my vehicle and how do I want to be treated. The good people at BWP work on all vehicles not just one brand so if your in the market remind yourself how important your car is to you and ask, do I want it done right or do want to take a chance on my insurance company doing the right thing for me. I should add that many times insurance companies have made people whole again but not for me in this case when they tried to strong arm their way over the right way. Thank you again John and Brian for having my best interest and your continued professionalism, you have a customer for life. This is just one persons experience but by the time you read this "The Good Hands People" will have one less policy holder.
