I went to this salon in 2016 for a haircut, color and full highlights. It was a very good experience and I liked the way my hair turned out. It was on the PRICEY SIDE but the vibe was very friendly and they were very accommodating and offered me a variety of drinks and snacks. It's a very pleasant atmosphere and the shop is very clean and sleek. I was going to San Diego for a family Thanksgiving dinner and mini vacation. I haven't been back till October 22 nd because I had a special event on October 23rd and couldn't wait for an appointment with the woman who I usually go to. I needed a Haircut and my roots done and it was totally worth the money. Everything I asked for was done EXACTLY THE WAY I REQUESTED AND I LOVE MY NEW HAIRCUT SO MUCH. It was on the PRICEY END OF MY BUDGET BUT THEY DID A GREAT JOB but everything is SO DARN EXPENSIVE THAT I AM UNDECIDED IF I WILL RETURN AGAIN. I give it all high marks for the services, atmosphere and quality. I believe that the prices in Most salons are very high end but one needs to understand that this is 2025 and EVERYTHING IS WAY HIGHER IN PRICE ESPECIALLY IN NEW YORK CITY. You can go cheaper when you are just looking for a mediocre job but you get what you pay for and my hair is my shining star so I will have to pay for excellence. For the haircut and dying my roots with a blowout came out to about $200 dollars plus tips. If I was to have my entire head also highlighted could easily cost me $200 bucks more. Can I/ will I spend $400.00 every 3-4 months and approximately 200 dollars every 6-8 weeks for maintenance? I don't know but they do a very good job so I will have to see my financial situation at the time. read more

I have been to In The Mixx now a hand full of times and I'm ready to review. The salon is clean, well lit and overall decorated really beautifully. They are super friendly from the time you walk in. They are always offering a beverage and something to eat. I never experienced the hospitality and professionalism that In the Mixx provides from any other salon! Everyone always has a smile and is ready to have a polite conversation. This salon provides Goldwell products which I find works best with my hair and hair color. I'm a red head. They also specialize in cutting curly hair which not many hair stylists/salons know how to cut and style properly. I must also point out Even the hair washers do an awesome job washing your hair and taking the dye off of your scalp. They give A great massage. I'm a 27 year old male who has never stepped foot in a hair salon. I called to make an appointment, showed up, and it was the best decision I made. I had my hair done by Safeta, she was awesome! They shampoo and condition your hair. Safeta talked to me about potential styles that would be best, and she also spoke to me about different techniques she could use to make my hair look better. I went to this salon based upon the wonderful reviews I've read and so glad I did. The staff is so inviting and friendly. Everyone I encountered was so professionable and knowledgeable. The vibe at this establishment is upbeat and you can tell how much the staff and stylist enjoys working there. I got a cut and brazilian blow out. After a few days, I was a bit disappointed in the outcome of my hair in terms of it not being as silky and shiney as I had expected. Once I contacted Rosemarie, the owner to disclosed this, she was extremely concerned (think more than I was!) and wanted me to come in right away to see what may have not gone right. Perhaps it was the product, perhaps it was my body chemistry etc. I was about to depart on a trip out of the country and Rosemarie fit me into her very tight schedule to make certain that my concerns were addressed before I left. She provided another treatment to my hair and spent a lot of time making sure I was extremely happy. Rosemarie did not charge me for the treatment and refused to take a gratuity. Her client's satisfaction was her primary concern above all else. Both Rosemarie and her mom who works there a day or two a week, were so warm, friendly and concerned about me and their clients. I was more than empressed with the care, attitude and devotion to the satisfaction of her clientele. I have never encountered such warm and hospitable outreach from an owner of a salon ever! No wonder they earn such high ratings on their reviews and have won awards! I have found a new home at In the Mixx!! Think you need to try them!! read more

The salon is always clean and the staff is so pleasant and professional. They always offer me magazines, coffee, and water while I wait for my color to set. I ended up moving to NJ and attempted to use a salon out there which ended tragically so now I'm back to In The Mixx because the commute is well worth it. Had a great cut here from a girl by the name of Kathy. I am coming back 100 percent. She minted out my beard and made my hair feel great. She sprayed this slamin product called KMS it my hair at the end. It's wax in a spray. She's a cool hairstylist to go too if you a dude. The place was also clean and neat. It sucks that you couldn't leave tips oh well. I'm deff coming back for a cut and wash prob next week. read more

I have been coming to this salon for over a year now... I don't even live in Staten Island but I travel all the way there on 2 trains and a ferry just to get my hair done by Marissa. She is literally the only hair stylist Ive been to that does my hair exactly how I want and even better! I absolutely love everything she does. She's so sweet too. They are all really nice there. I'm so glad I found this place. I will continue to travel a journey to get there. Btw I moved to an area in queens pretty close to Long Island. And I had to take a bus to the LIRR, then the R train, then the ferry, then the Staten Island railroad! And It was FOR SURE WORTH IT!!! Prices are reasonable also! read more

From the receptionist, Dee, to the rest of the staff, this salon is one of the best on Staten Island. Jamie is a gifted colorist, cutter and stylist. John, who does the hair washing, is funny, caring and gives great massages. From what I have seen, all the stylists are excellent. read more
