The WORST hair salon experience of my life appointment was at 4pm with Kristin & didn't get out till 1am missed my best friends graduation party. Got out with burns alll over my head and scalp so bad I couldn't even lay my head in my pillow, she wasn't cleaning the bleach out of my ears, forehead or sideburns I had to clean it with my own face mask. Wanted long layered copper hair but got burgundy short hair. My sisters hair lady Melissa also tried to play her by saying their light wasn't good my sister walked in with a 11 blonde and somehow got 8 blonde HOW? She asked her to do it again and finally got her back to her original level blonde. The amount of damage on my scalp and amount of hair I'm losing was not worth spending 1000 also beware each bleach bowl they use is $20 extra read more

My friend recommended Salon Gioia to me about a year and a half ago. The moment I walked in they greeted me with such warmth, it felt like I've known them forever. Everyone is so sweet and kind. So this review comes after my third visit. The first was a cut and gloss, then color, and last cut and color. I've loved the results every time and have gotten many compliments. This is not a "cheap" salon, so if you're looking for a quickie I'd say look elsewhere. That said... My stylist is Alyssa and she has done a great job every time. So far I haven't been bounced around between stylists as in the previously mentioned "quickie salons". Everyone has been very pleasant and they offer coffee or water while you wait. I absolutely love it here. I've been here twice and each experience has been great. I've seen Alyssa each time. At first I got just a haircut which I loved (I get very nervous when it comes to haircuts and stylists that don't listen) but Alyssa listened to what I wanted, gave respectful insight, and did exactly what I wanted. This next time I allowed her to color my hair- a few weeks ago I had a terrible experience at another salon leaving me with hair that wasn't an even length and was just horrible to where people pointed it out. When bringing it up to her she was shocked someone could actually butcher hair like that. Asked how I wanted my color (I was indecisive but she went off of what I did and I absolutely love it). She was able to fix my haircut as much as possible. Everyone in there is so respectful and just fun to be around. What I initially loved about this place was the online booking option, which even includes a 15 consultation option. Kristen decided the best way to approach my hair, which included a toner to remove all my brass & then a follow-up in 2 weeks to do a full balayage and blowout. Melanie took her time with my consultation asking me exactly what i wanted, looking at pictures and some of her previous work. Melanie was awesome, refilled my meter when the time was up and even went next door to get me pizza. The salon is surrounded by a bunch of great food. All the stylists take their time and really want you to be completely satisfied with your hair. Marina is the nail tech and she's awesome!!! They use all Moroccan Oil products which i love. I found this salon on Instagram and after looking at all the stylists profiles I decided to go with Kristen and am so happy I did. She was absolutely wonderful and so knowledgeable. I have very thin hair and A-LOT of postpartum hair loss. This review is long overdue! I found this salon on Instagram and went to see Alyssa for the first time last year after another salon completely fried and ruined my hair. I was able to book my appointment online which was super helpful! The salon is very nice as is all of the staff. Alyssa asked a bunch of questions to determine exactly what I wanted and was honest about the process- allowing my hair to "heal" while also attempting to lighten my hair in steps. 1 year later and my hair is so much healthier and I achieved the rooted dark blonde (from red) that I've always wanted! All of the times I've been there since my first visit I never felt rushed or that they are too busy to tend to me. The prices are reasonable and I've never left there unhappy. Not happy. I've sent them a message via Instagram and email and never got a response. I made an appointment for 7 PM on Friday. When I got there I called them from outside and was told that my hairdresser needed five minutes. 15 minutes later I got a call to come inside. At 7:30 the girl that was manning the desk came over and told me that my hairdresser was running behind and that she could cut my hair. I wish they would have told me at 7 PM, when I initially called, that my hairdresser was running behind. I would have then left and made another appointment. At this point I just wanted to get my haircut so I said OK; of course asking her if she had a license. I am not happy with the haircut I received. I paid for it and I even gave the girl a tip because I figured she thought she did the best she could. But then I sent the salon a message. I don't understand how you cannot get back to a customer. I do not understand how if an appointment made you can't keep it. If they had told her time was tight I would have rescheduled. Please learn communication. read more

I adore this salon. The whole staff is friendly with a relaxed environment. I originally went there to get my eyebrows micro bladed by Gina, and she did wonders to them! I couldn't be anymore thankful for Gina giving me brows after 10+ years of them NOT growing! Since I loved the work on my brows and sweet staff especially Gina, I made a hair appointment for a color & blowout with her. SO happy I did! This salon is amazing! The vibe in the salon was so inviting and friendly. I made my appointment with Gina and omg, one look at how damaged my hair was from bleach and instantly provided a solution on how to get it back to being healthy. She explained everything she was doing and why (which is awesome). I walked in thinking i had to chop my hair off and go short. She was able to keep my length and cut off the dead ends and she gave me a Brazilian blowout to put keratin back into my hair to help it. My coloring was also a hot mess due to dying my hair blue and then striping it. She was able to tone my hair to get rid of the 84 colors that I had going on. For the first time in a month my hair feels healthy again, actually healthier than its ever been and looks like a normal color too lol i'm so happy i found this salon! Worst hair cut I have ever received. I went to Salon Gioia on a Sundayand was very confused when I entered. The salon was completely dead inside with no customers and there was only the front desk girl. To my surprise the front desk girl was my hair dresser. I came to the salon with my fiancé and we were both shocked when we heard the "screamo" rock music that was playing. I come to hair salons to relax not to go to a rock concert. I ignored it and let the hair stylist give me a trim. At first my hair looked fine but when I washed it the next day I noticed that she cut a huge chunk of my hair extremely short in the back for no reason! This isn't a layer just a couple of strands of hair cut extremely short. I have always enjoyed my hair cuts at other salons but this one was by far the worst! I was a new customer and I really did not enjoy this place. Definitely go somewhere else if you have the option! read more

AMAZING! I can not thank Gina enough for how amazing my hair came out. I came to her and my hair was a mess. It was fried, stripey and all different colors. I looked awful! She corrected my color in a way I didn't think was possible. She gave me a Brazilian blowout and it repaired my hair as if i never dyed it before! It feels like silk! Gina and her entire team are extraordinary! My husband and son have been going to Angelo at the salon for some time and we love him as well. I cant believe i didn't go to her sooner! Terrible salon. I came in for a Brazilian Blowout on my very curly hair. I asked the stylist Alyssa several times if my texture can be maintained, since it was my only concern. She assured me that, while my curls might fall a bit or be slightly more relaxed, they would still be intact. So- I do the treatment. She washes my hair, applies chemicals, and dries it. (I will later learn she was SUPPOSED to wash my hair a second time to remove them, but she did not.) She tells me to wait a few days before washing my hair but "this is a Brazilian Blowout! You can put your hair in a ponytail already!" (Great.) So, I follow her request and wash my hair after 2 days, I figured the worst case was my hair was a little curlier- wrong. I tried to get a refund and they told me they 'dont do that' even though they did not do my hair well, did not perform the treatment correctly (see Brazilian Blowout's website) AND are NOT LICENSED to perform this treatment (see BB website). They refused my refund and i reported them. They ignored my calls. 2 months later my hair is flat, completely pin straight, and damaged. Not to mention my previous very thick hair has thinned significantly. Do NOT go to this salon. They aren't professional, knowledgable about their field, and have terrible customer service. They're barely licensed to do their jobs apparently. I consulted other salons regarding this matter and they were APPALLED. As am I. read more

I recently went to a new salon in my neighborhood called Salon Gioia. I was introduced to Kristen who did my highlights and trim. I explained that i wanted blond highlights and sometimes my hair becomes brassy after only two weeks. Kristen recommended a shampoo that tones the hair instantly. She was extremely informative pleasant and made sure i received excellent service. This was my first time there and definitely worth it . My hair has been black for years, I mean 5+ years and I wanted a balayage, of course I knew my hair wasnt going to be exactly what I wanted the first time but Alyssa made sure I left happy with healthy hair.
