We finally had the chance to try this place after driving by it so many times and wondering what kind of restaurant it was with all the colorful flags outside. We came for a residents' event, and it completely exceeded our expectations! They set up a fantastic outdoor seating area with fans, cooling mist, and a big TV, making it such a comfortable and fun atmosphere. The mojitos and sangria were absolutely delicious. The loaded chips were a great starter, and the food did not disappoint. We ordered the steak burrito, and it was huge and packed with flavor. The quesadillas were also excellent--everything tasted fresh and authentic. The staff was incredibly welcoming, and the whole experience was wonderful from start to finish. I often drive by and never had a chance to stop. Today we did as we had our fur-baby Kane with us and seeing its outside sitting, we stopped. FOOD- delicious! (2) EMPANADAS come with side of fries and sauce that was great on both. He enjoyed his (3) STEAK TACOS, it comes apart a bit which prob caused by the weight of the meat/ huge portion size. I loved my (3) SHRIMP TACOS, it's topped with tomatoes, cream and avocado- delicious! I had one and was full. It didn't break apart like his, each sits on two white corn tortillas. Visited this place for lunch on a Saturday. Pretty empty so the food came out pretty quick. It has a chill, laid-back vibe with only covered outdoor seating. They've got plenty of fans running, so even on a hot day it's surprisingly comfortable. The menu has a solid variety of options, which made it tough to choose, but I ended up going with the El Gringo Bowl (bed of rice and beans, topped with corn, lettuce, cheese, guacamole, sour cream and a spice blend, served with chicken and mixed cheese). At first glance, it looked a little small, but it definitely filled me up. The ingredients were fresh and well-balanced, and the flavors blended nicely. That said, I was hoping for a bit more boldness or spice, especially from a Latin-inspired spot -- just needed that extra kick. Im not sure what this "spice blend" is but i didnt taste it. Very limited parking spaces and its order at a counter with only outdoor seating. The food itself came quickly and my friend said her wrap was good. My rice and beans tasted only like salt. Also the portion was some of the smallest I've ever seen. The actual Birria tacos were okay but not the best I've had a solid 3 and the sauce that comes to dip was just oil with cilantro flakes. It was really bad and I don't if they ran low and just added oil to fill but my already greasy taco didn't need an extra side of grease. This spot never gets old. There isn't a single dish that isn't flavorful and delicious on this menu. The prices are affordable, the food is super flavorful and filling, good size portions, and authentic food. I tend to opt for takeout because the location is strangely situated and parking isn't the best. It's more of a pain in the ass to get to, due to extreme traffic/congestion on Commercial blvd than anything. But, it hasn't stopped me yet-as the food is delicious. I used to think of it as a hidden gem Now I think it should just stay hidden the servers look like they hated my guts for being there and the food came out like shit. Birria should be a rich and colorful broth packed with flavor. I just paid 25 fucking dollars for three cheese tacos with a few bits of beef, no juice and so-called consume which was lukewarm water with onions and cilantro. Unfortunately, we cannot remember the restaurant name during the time we visited it many years ago. The outside gets your attention as you pass on Commercial Blvd. It has shade-providing seating on the left side, front, and right side. Step right up to place your order. Hopefully, you will get the same wonderful woman we had. She was a joy, and knew the most popular choices to eat! We placed two orders: Bohemian bowl, shrimp tacos. Not trashing the bowl, but the main attraction were the shrimp tacos! Btw, there is a Taco Tuesday, three taco minimum order. Inquire with the person up front about mixing the three versus matching. I had been to the original location in the Galt Mile and decided to check out their "relatively" new location in Oakland Park. The setup is almost like a shack, open air, relaxed, easy.... We got the Bohemian Bowl and three tacos. The Bohemian bowl was nice and tasty ......the tacos were good, the carnitas ones were moist and delicious, the chicken one was a bit dry and not that great. OMG the steak in the quesadilla was just amazingly good! Better than Tijuana Flats! The pico de gallo was a wee bit hot for me, but just the food was amazing. Ate here two days in a row day 1 order through a delivery service ropa viejas bowl with quac and chips. It was wonderful! Day 2 sent girlfriend to go pick up two more orders they gave her the pork instead even though she specifically ordered the ropa. Next day we are both extremely ill. Must have run out of the Ropa and gave us the old pork instead, I knew it when I took my first bite that it was off. Should have spit it out. 3 stars because day 1 was amazing. NEW FAVORITE SPOT IN OAKLAND PARK. This place is a local's hidden gem. It's under new ownership for about a year. I would always drive by and finally decided to stop by since they had the best DJ in Colombia playing. The ambiance was chill and casual. It's right by the train tracks so it gives it a bit of a hipster vibe. The place wasn't packed which was surprising because the food and service were so good, it's only a matter of time before this place blows up. My friends and I had a ton of fun here and fell in love with the relaxed environment. They sell beer, high noon, wine, and spritzers in addition to food. The food was delicious and came out pretty quickly. We all ordered the tostones which have shredded beef (ropa vieja) on them and they were spectacular. Since it was Saturday, they were $2 off. We ordered the Cuban Sandwich as well and omg, it was the best Cuban I've tried. Take that the way you want ;) lol Also, I didn't take a picture of the daily specials but I'll get them next time I go. And I was so hungry I devoured the tostones but I'll take a pic of those next time I go too. The staff was so sweet and did a good job of checking on us throughout our time there. Julio, one of the owners, was really down to earth and checked on us as well. For Taco Tuesdays, they have a live DJ from 7 to 10pm and signature street tacos starting at $2 all day. This has been a favorite spot of ours for years when we lived in the neighborhood. We had the opportunity to drop into this unassuming little joint, like old times, and visit the Boardroom next door for a quick dinner after a long day. Of course we had to order from Bohemian being in the area! They are so friendly and will deliver your order to the bar next door, making for an enjoyable wait time! Our favorite order is always wings and nachos. The wings are unlike any we've had elsewhere, with tangy lime seasoning and avocado ranch-absolutely delish! The nachos are enormous so we took at least half of it home. This place has long been on my tried and trie list. This place was awesome!! Upon ordering, a friendly cashier (male) welcomed me as I approached to order. He told me what he recommended and I ended up ordering three tacos (two asada & one chorizo). The tray came with chips and two different salsas. I wish I got a picture because the tacos looked gorgeous. I got them with cheese and sour cream on top as well. Many of the chips were stuck together; not a big deal except I paid almost $11.00. The bowls were fairly generous in size and tasty. We found this place by chance and after going a few times we have declared it as our go to spot because the food is so good and the service is as good as it gets.
