I saw that Bohemian was in 3rd place and that seems crazy to me. It is, by far, the best restaurant around in terms of the quality of food and the menu choices they've made. The restaurant has a great space with wooden bench seating and tables with chairs. The service was friendly and pleasant. I had the ahi tuna, which was very good, and a side of crispy french fries, mmm. My partner had a nice fresh Caesar salad. We ended it with a Paris Brest, superb! read more

went here for my anniversary and it was amazing! the restaurant was beautiful! i loved the giant moon and all the artwork inside. the hostess with extremely nice and knowledgeable about the menu and even helped me with a great wine pairing for my meal. the food was amazing. they did great balancing french and asian cuisine together. don't even get me started on the dessert! just thinking about it i'm drooling. highly recommend the chocolate tart. read more

It's a rare treat find to find such a progressive menu like this one outside the usual collegiate towns who offer a diverse menu because they cater to incoming students and their families. Bravo for bringing some new and delicious choices to the community. My arugula salad with just enough dressing, sliced chicken, with--wait for it... blueberries mixed in, was light and delicious. Fried plantains with fresh salsa and guacamole was a nice app too. Not greasy or chewy. My husband had a turkey panini sandwich that was not supersized, thank goodness and it had a delicious cranberry mayo. Again, a great ingredient surprise. The chef definitely is inventive! Norwich NY has a free summer concert music series so it's ideal to stop in here, like we did, before the show. And if you are in town for the Colorfest Art show in September make sure you make this a place to eat. It's small so reservations may be needed. We will be back! read more

Arrived at 4:30. Was ignored by the only employee. She looked at me as I stood there and continued with her task without acknowledging me. She was obviously annoyed. I asked her if I could review the menu and she pointed to the stack of menus in the back. I walked to the back and read the menu. It looked good with plenty of GF options. I mentioned to her I was looking for GF options and she replied, they are on the menu and walked away. She was not interested in assisting me. Walking in the dining area, you don't get a sense that the decor is bohemian. However, it was a nice space. The menu was diverse but not busy. Ordered Drinks, an app and the chicken enchiladas verde. The waitress was very friendly and attentive. Plantain and corn chips with guacamole was well done. Hot and tasty. It was my first experience eating plantain and I was pleasantly surprised. The entree, not so much. Overall it was bland and off tasting. Truth be told any frozen or boxed enchilada meal from the grocery store would be an improvement. The beans were runny and cold. The rice was bland and forgettable and the enchiladas were frustratingly boring and sad. When it was time to pay the check, I couldn't sit near my plate and bear to look at it any longer. We had dinner here after traveling locally to visit family. There's one restaurant in my wife's home town, and while it's good, we always wish for more variety. The moon has plenty of that, with a huge menu and plenty of variety to eat. Service was awesome and attentive, and the patio was a very pleasant place to eat. Nice beer list to go with our meal, and wine available if that's your choice. We enjoyed our food (I had fish tacos, she had some other kind of fish) but I wasn't blown away by the quality of the food. Huge fish fillets on itty bitty little tortillas had me taking about half the fish out and eating the rest. Could have used a bit more seasoning or some fresh salsa to really tie it all together. Still, it was well worth what we paid and we absolutely would come back. This is a fun restaurant that seems out of place in stodgy CNY and while our palates might be on a slightly different level, I can't fault a restaurant that does everything else so well. read more

I have not been this impressed with a restaurant in a long time. The menu is eclectic and everything is delicious! You feeling like Asian food? They have an awesome Korean stir fry. Want Mexican? Have the amazing enchilada. Add to all this vegetarian options, a decently stocked bar and lovely fresh baked desserts. Portions are super generous. The veggies in my meal could not have been fresher. The decor is as eclectic as the menu. The entire place has a chill and artistic vibe. I felt like I was in NYC not upstate NY. Loved the music they had on. The people working there are the best! Wish I had gotten our servers name. I felt like she was an old friend. The woman who bakes the pastries was so kind as well. Love Bohemian Moon!! Last night's Ruben Panini with onion rings was much needed comfort food after a long day! The dressing was amazing, the corned beef tasty and the bread was lovely. Could have used more sauerkraut but that's a minor suggestion. It was yummy!! Chicken Enchiladas the night before were pretty perfect too. And oh, the Coconut Shrimp appetizer!! Beware of safety! My father in law fell after his chair broke out from under him! Check your chairs for sturdiness. This restaurant seems to purchase whatever they can get 2nd hand to compliment their 'bohemian' style instead of quality restaurant chairs. The service was nice, and very friendly. I had the guacamole appetizer and then the turkey sandwich with provolone and roasted red peppers for lunch, with a side of fries. The guacamole was fresh and very good. There was a generous portion that would be good for 2 people. The sandwich was great. The french bread was soft, everything was perfectly melted together that was comforting on a cold day. The fries were fine, not life changing, will probably try another side next time. Had dinner there last night, first restaurant I've been to that actually had green tea, that was a plus. We ordered soup very tasty and well seasoned, 2 appetizers coconut shrimp and calamari, which were cooked to perfection. And for the main course we had scallops & lobster with asparagus with a light cream sauce served in a pastry roll very tasty. And for dessert we had red velvet cake. Love the name of the place and amazing decor and ambiance! Great beer on tap, and cool music! They host fun wine and beer tasting events, and vinyl night. The cafe is clean, and the dishes and presentation is top line! But... I'm not a fan of their overpriced, and small portions. One app dish will not serve two people! They have a great selection that will please everybody, but it's just not that good. It doesn't taste fresh, and seems reheated. I ordered the special, and both myself and my adult daughter did not like it. They have amazing desserts and coffee! I have been very happy with their soups too. Don't like their hours of operation! Seems like whenever I think of going there to eat, they are closed! I would recommend this place if your in Norwich. There is only a few places worth eating in town, and this is one. For spending $170 for a meal for 4 in Norwich, NY, I expected to have a completely different experience than the one I had. The customer service was among the worst I've ever had. The waitress barely knew what she was doing. We asked her what the beer options were and she said she didn't memorize the menu. We asked what the best dishes were and she said everything, before reading down the menu the new items this week. What takes the cake though is the whole experience with undercooked steak. We told the waitress the steak was undercooked, and she told us the chef just left for the night (what chef leaves as people are just getting their meal?), and didn't offer to rectify the situation in any way. The absolute gross part of the night though was the interaction with the owner. She came out to meet us and mentioned hearing the steak was undercooked. You'd think she'd follow that up with a remedy for the situation right? Her answer to that..."I'll teach the waitress how to cook." Worst customer service ever. On food alone this place would get a solid 4 or 4.5. But unfortunately that is not what my rating is all about. Service was good. Waitress was attentive and checked in on us a few times with during our meal. We were greeted within 5 minutes of sitting down. Food came out quickly once ordered, and was the right temperature. Service gets a 4 Food was excellent. The only thing off was the sauce for the calamari. I cant place it other then to say it was a heavy vinegar sweet and sour sauce. Not bad but not great. The calamari had great crust but im not 100% sure it was fresh. The price of 6 bucks and what we got says to me that it came from a bag already breaded but i could be wrong. It still tasted good. We also had a buffalo chicken wrap and an apple an baked brie sandwich. Both had great flavor and we enjoyed them. I had onion rings which were great and my wife had fries... Every couple of fries had an oniony flavor so not sure if they used the same oil for both. My biggest issue here and reason for 3 stars was price. Both sandwiches were around 9 bucks which would be fair if they came with fries. The fries and onion rings were both 3 dollars extra. Making the sandwiches 12 bucks. Which i expect to pay when im in Philly or NYC.. Not Norwich,NY. Our meal came to be 36 bucks, with tip 42... Again, a price when in a big city i have no issue paying, but in this location it was very much on the high side. The food is great but i cant say we will rush back due to the costs. read more

I call B.S.! This place is Horrible! I've eaten here twice. The first time was for lunch. I had a turkey sandwich. It was mediocre at best. The Turkey and Bread was very dry. Which is unfortunate because the quality of the ingredients where good. The second time was just recently for a dinner party. The occasion was my friends 31st birthday. It stated off well enough with all of us getting our drinks. Beer and wine, (as I might mention it is not a full bar) Which as a little disappointing seems I prefer a good scotch on the rocks. Anywho, after a pretty long wait about half an hour. Which I don't mind waiting to order when we have a dinner party of 8. At this point your just looking forward to having a good meal at least. After ordering, our salads came out and when I say salad I mean 9 pieces of mixed greens( I counted) and half of a cherry tomato. Not joking, the "salad" everyone got was about two bites apiece. When it first arrived we all looked at each other in disbelief! This was at which point I turned to my friend sitting next to me and proceeded to tell him about my unfavorable experience I had here in the past. Oh, but it didn't top his experience though! He had been there for dinner with his parents before. He had ordered the Filet. When it arrived it was over cooked and was cut... A F%$%ing CUT IN IT! Are you kidding me! Mind you it cost $26. (I will gladly pay for a good steak!) If you don't know, it is an extreme.. forbidden taboo. Never, never cut into a steak while it's cooking. Well, that evening he thought he would let by gones be by gones and ordered it again, along with another friend of ours. Well, well, well... Never the less it happened again. Both of their steaks where cut into! OMFG!... If they're going to charge that much for a steak they need to hire someone with enough experience that can cook a steak properly! (That goes this out saying) Well, that night I ordered the pork chops with a side of brussel sprouts. The pork chop was dry and the brussels where over cooked. arrrgh! And I love brussel sprouts! All & all. This restaurant is trying to be too fancy for their own pants. I fear their down fall is a many a down fall of local restaurants. It's hard to be able to afford to hire the experienced help that is needed to run a good restaurant of the caliber that the Bohemian Moon is going for. Just because some Hipster came up with a catchy name for a restaurant does mean that it's going to live up to the "coolness" of it's name sake. Besides, I don't eat names. Oh, yeah. When I ask to talk to the cook, our waitress had no idea how to handle the situation. Mind you she said she has be working there for 5 years so it wasn't because she was new. I do not mind paying good money for great food. I am by far not a cheepskate! However, don't give an over cooked "turd sandwich" and tell me & charge me for Foie Gras! The reality is, I'd have no room to really complain if their quality reflected their prices. Or if they drastically reduced their menu prices. I digress. read more

I really loved the feel of this place. It's like a great big giant kitchen, lots of cool pictures and tables and just an overall homey, warm feel. And the menu is stellar - got the burger, which was really terrific, so fresh. And ommegang on tap of course. The Caesar salad was very good as well - best homemade croutons i've ever had, no joke. Dropped in on a Friday evening. Charming room with wonderful historical photographs on the walls. Very pleasant staff; not overbearing. I had the eggplant parm and it was very tasty, over a bed of linguini, cooked just right. Lots of sauce and cheese. I'm a good eater but the portion was so large I went home with enough for a lunch the next day. Nice selection of local craft beers on tap and in bottles. My sister had the salmon and she said it was delicious. We shared the chocolate mousse dessert and that was as fine as you'd find in a fancy NYC restaurant or bakery. Quite reasonable price too. Different than anything else you'll find in Norwich, just not a place I would go to regularly. For me it's a small place that's great to bring vegan friends or a date. Service is fantastic, and they have a decent bar. They bring a little bit of charm to what is a really small city and I would definitely recommend them to folks who are visiting. read more
