I love this restaurant so much. I love their lobster bisque soup and their fettuccine alfredo. My favorite kind of pizza there is their white garlic. It's a pleasant environment and their service is top notch. 10/10 recommend for a quick bite to eat or a nice sit down dinner. Usually everything is made in 15-20 minutes. :) read more

Waited 10 minutes before anyone stopped at our table to see what we wanted to order, only 1 other table in eat in part obviously not busy ,after order was placed waitress returned and said sorry but it wasn't available, should have known this when asking customer what they wanted to order. Then had to wait another 5 min to cash out. I did not order anything else and instead decided to leave and go elsewhere. We have eaten here many times but this was the worse service we ever had and will think twice before ever going here again. read more

Dinner time Thursday night. Roma sounds good. Or so we thought. Our take out order was breaded mushrooms, eggplant parmigiana with spaghetti noodles, and a cheese calzone. Well, that's what it was supposed to be. The breaded mushrooms. The breading was extremely thick and lackluster in flavor. No dipping sauce but we didn't ask. The cheese calzone. In other restaurants offering calzones, asking for a cheese calzone usually yields in a calzone without ham resulting in just cheese. We asked for a side-of-sauce and did get that and the sauce isn't too shabby. However, ordering a cheese calzone, we got a regular with the ham. We are not a fan of calzones with ham. The flavor was okay, nothing note-worthy. The eggplant parmigiana with spaghetti noodles. We like cheese. Lots of cheese. But this dish was too much cheese and not a lot of eggplant which was disappointing. Also ordered with spaghetti noodles. No noodles in our order. Noodle ghost town. We got the meal which came with the dinner roll and side salad. Let just wrap this up with the side salad and dinner roll were the best part of the entire meal. Side salad was pretty basic. Downsides to the salad I'd say were underripe tomatoes and bagged mozzarella cheese and quite a bit of it. It got us by tonight but definitely underwhelming, disappointing and lackluster. read more

The service was TERRIBLE!!! What the hell happened to this place? I realize the the place was very busy but, OMG!!! We waited 45mins. for the salads, then after waiting for over an hour the server came to the table and asked again what we ordered the check with the kitchen and never came back. Finally we decided to just leave since we had been waiting more than an hour and a half with no end in sight. The funny thing about the whole situation was the group that arrived after us got most of their food long before we did. The A- team was definitely not working tonight. I realize that the restaurant industry is tough right now (finding adequate help) but they really could use a floor manager to insure customers are communicated with. Huge portions but definitely order the right thing (pizza or red sauce pasta) and don't get anything too weird. This is a New York style Italian restaurant on the corner in a quaint downtown district. They specialize in NY thin slices and Sicilian pizza, but also have a Ton of pasta entrees. If you want haddock (a popular fish in Binghamtom) ask your server if they have it because apparently they run out. When we ordered they said there were only 3(!) servings of haddock the day before and when we arrived they only had enough for ONE order of haddock! You can get it by itself or parmigiana style--fried filet with spaghetti and red sauce. I ordered the dinner special of the day even though it was lunch time. It was crab Alfredo pasta. The sauce was good but I really was bummed that they used fake Japanese krab sticks that usually go in cheap California rolls! Ugh! Good thing though that the fake krab flavor doesn't infuse the rest of the dish like real crab would and so the fake krab left the Alfredo sauce alone. Lesson: don't order seafood here unless it's the haddock only. If you order the right thing it's great here. The chicken parmigiana was amazing. They give one giant flattened piece of meat that is lightly fried and delicious. Also, the baked shells were perfect--al dente despite being baked (not mushy as baked pasta often is) and came with delicious REAL meatballs. They were very generous as they gave us a slice of NY pizza for free, cut into small pieces to share, while we waited. Also the sesame bread rolls that come with your meal are bigger than your fist. The garlic knots were just okay--they were more like big dinner rolls brushed with oil and garlic. read more

Quiet when I arrived on a Thursday, it picked up and there was a steady to go crowd. Not a surprise, the by-the-glass wine offerings were limited but the waitress was willing to get me a glass of something from the bottle side of the list (except they were out). All mains are served with a giant roll and side salad. I wanted the homemade Italian dressing (they were out) with (not on the menu) blue cheese crumbles (out) but opted for sun-dried tomato instead. My main was shrimp and clam scampi in white sauce. Giant. Decent flavor. Lots of clams and shrimp. A bit soupy. Pasta perhaps a bit overcooked. I visit an elderly relative in Oxford several time a year, and we always get a pizza from Roma's (take out) one night. The pizza is great - crust neither too thick nor too thin, and the toppings are plentiful, appear to be fresh, and consistently flavorful. Also, the pizza is always ready on time. The food was horrible We both ordered the Haddock Livonese The fish was deep fried to a crisp and it was topped with loads of horrible sauce We informed the waitress.Told her we had been there before and this is not in any way as near as it used to be . it was horrible We did not eat it She went to talk to the owner who said well that's the way we make it now ! we were not compensated in any way even though the waitress did try to get us compensated. WOW! I can't praise this place enough! Just moved to the area from out of state where there's a pizza place on every corner. Didn't really have high expectations thinking it would be an average quick pie & some other foods to fill us & our family up after moving. We were so wrong! The pizza was great (cooked well done enough it wasn't soggy, even in the box for a 15 min car ride), the penne vodka was THE best we've had (love the roasted garlic!), chicken parm sandwich was eaten in less than 5 minutes, and the Turkey sub was amazing (bread was super fresh!). Did you see the picture of the Haddock parm? That's what I had and it was terrific, and it comes with those home cooked rolls and your choice of soup or salad. Stopped by after today's lunch rush. The service was excellent, the food was served hot, fresh, and fairly quickly. The cheese steak sandwich was perfect, although too large to eat at one sitting. My wife had the same experience with her pepperoni roll. 2 served, one goes home. It's not my first time at Roma's, and ut's always clean and homey, even with a large crowd. I recommend it to everyone. If you're traveling, it's a good spot to target. If you live in the area it's worth a short or long drive, to go there for lunch or dinner. read more

This place used to have solid food and okay service but has been lacking the past 3 times I have been in (friends insisting on going). After this past visit I don't think any of us will be back unless we have to. This is an Italian gem hidden in the tiny town of Oxford. It's a no-frills, casual restaurant that has exceptional food. Mind you, I'm from a town in upstate NY that has great Italian restaurant essentially on every corner- and we'll eagerly make a 40 minute drive to this place at the drop of a hat. The menu consists of your everyday Italian food, you can get anywhere...but where Roma's excels is 1) the food tastes great and 2) the portions a ridiculously large. I'm a big eater and I have to get a to-go box. If you're looking for something to do one day, make the trip to Oxford and give this place a try. You'll be glad you did. read more

We drive from Syracuse to have their lasagna, no kidding we do. I used to bring my mom here, rest her soul. Brought my husband here and I ordered the lasagna in mom's memory. My husband ordered a chicken dish. That was the last time he ordered something other than the lasagna. It's not that the chicken dish was bad, it was fantastic but the lasagna was exceptional. So yes we drive down from time to time and have lasagna and their nice warm bread. The pic is what we are taking home. We each had the side salad, also good mine had crumbled bleu and house Italian. It used to be a great place, but has gone down. I got a marinated chicken antipasto...usually it would have tomatoes, peppers cucumbers, cheese...used to be great. Order pizza. It tasted delicious. Probably their best dish. The Alfredo was watered down and tasteless. The vodka sauce had huge chunks of garlic that was not pleasant. The pasta served with two small meatballs ($18) was not cooked enough. Every dish, including the bread they bring to the table, is enormous. Way too much for one serving. Shortly after posting my negative review, I was pleasantly surprised to hear back from Roma's. The owner contacted me, and handled this the way it should be handled. He apologized for our experience not being a good one, and offered to make good by sending me one of their new gift cards to replace the valid one that wasn't accepted. Since most of our experiences (and the food) over the years has been good, except these last two times, we'll use the gift card to try another order in the near future. Pizza is good. The grilled chicken with Alfredo and broccoli used to be my favorite thing. They use frozen thighs instead of fresh breasts.

Really enjoy the food here. I think the food is slightly better if you order & eat there but the pizza is great. the serving sizes are huge for the pasta dishes & salads. You always leave with left overs. The prices are a little high but great portion sizes. Staff is friendly & service us quick. The only complaint I really have is that the tables are close together, it can be crampt if they are busy, which happens quite often. Food will keep you coming back. read more

I don't know what has happened to Roma's, it's been going downhill, Maybe they have changed to cheaper ingredients? My Lasagna was burned and dry, an the roll was hard as a rock, and the salad had 2 old grape tomatoes in it, as they were very wrinkled, and soft. I threw the whole thing in the garbage. read more

We stopped in for dinner last night the food was amazing, the service was great, our dinner came out very quickly but at no point did we feel rushed. The portion size was Beyond generous, we all have lunch for today. We will definitely be back next time we're in town with food that great and that good of a price there's no need to cook. read more
