If you're going into this expecting that Boil Shack is going to deliver a Louisiana Crawfish Boil right here in the Glass City, you're going to be very disappointed. That said, this place isn't all that bad. The flavors of the various boils are pretty decent. They're not not Cajun...they're not even Creole...but they're decent. One thing's for sure, there won't be any vampires creeping around here...garlic is the primary flavor at the Boil Shack. I'm still tasting it, the next day. The biggest issue with this place is that the critters aren't cooked long enough for the flavors in the boils to be imparted into the critter meat. With the crawfish, this deficiency in cooking is especially apparent. True, the food comes out pretty fast. BIG TIME FAIL: Boil Shack has no beer. Boil Shack needs beer. It needs ice cold lager. It's obvious. Who ever heard of eating spicy boiled seafood, WITH YOUR HANDS, and not having beer to wash it down? If it's true, that everything is undergoing carcinization, it all makes sense: all the failed restaurants in town are evolving into crab shacks! I never complain before this is my first time complaining? About the food. I literally have 8 shrimp in my combination A. It's supposed to be a half a pound crawfish a half a pound shrimp no heads and a snow crab. I love this place so much that I drive an hour away just to go have seafood, but today was very disappointing. Who knows they might have a new cooker. read more

Worst customer service I've EVER encountered. Sat there for 2 hours. No drinks. Never got my appetizer. When I asked what the ETA was on the food was told they weren't concerned about dine in, only takeout. Was sitting there for so long I was asked if we had even ordered yet!!! After 2 hours of waiting on food alone !! Not to mention the hour wait just for the table. Cashiers were rolling their eyes at customers and not giving any information to anyone. Never again. Tables were left nasty while people were waiting for seats. read more

Unusual mix... you walk in and it seems like a fast food counter. Small space but nice booths and okay ambiance. I didn't care for the clean up cart sitting next to our booth. The lady at the counter was doing everything so she really did not have time to be our waitress. Shrimp pasta was good and a nice portion . Boil bag was large ($32 bag) chicken strips meh , fries good , wings good very little meat though. I really think there is more potential here with a little more staff and customer attention especially for the price. (Boil bag price anyway).$76 for 1 of the lesser expensive bags and 3 -$10-12 meals and 3 pops and 1 water before tip. read more

I ordered three pieces of flounder fish and fries, im giving two stars just because the dood was hot. It definitely wasn't flounder fish, it tasted like Gordon's fish out of the box. Something from the grocery store that was heated up. Needless to say I'll never eat order frim here again. My overall experience at this restaurant was very pleasant. The Waitress was very nice and the food arrived very quickly. I ordered the Crawfish meal, which came with a pot of crawfish, crab, shrimp, corn and potatoes. The sauce that the food was served in was some of the best I've ever had, and although it didn't soak into the crawfish very well, you could just dip it into it to counteract this. The potatoes, however, did soak up the sauce, and tasted delicious. As for the actual meat, the shrimp was well cooked and blended well with the sauce, and the crab was just plain good. My only real complaint is that the crawfish was a little hard to eat, but I'm not too much of a crawfish guy my self anyway, so you could just order a different meal. I would definitely come back here and loved my time here. read more

While in the area we had a craving. We ordered a large combo meal. Service was ok. The food came out quick. Not sure how they weigh what is suppose to be in your meal as some items seemed lees the described yet others were more. I guess it worked out. I love this place. It is the best in town compared to what we have to offer in the surrounding area. I have to say I did like the flavor they had going six months to a year ago better with all of the cilantro . Would not go back, some of the crawfish were bad and u could seriously tell made me feel sick just knowing how old some of them looked some of them even had tiny beads in them that did NOT taste edible was very disappointed especially since a pound is 16 bucks smh read more
