"Cajun" fried rice with sausage...for those of us not really into the boil scene.
    Mike P.

IMO, NONE of the, now ubiquitous, crab shacks in this town deserve 5 stars. But, of all the crab boil joints in Toledo, Cincy Crab is probably the best, and I grade on a normal curve. Therefore, 5 stars!! Maybe it was just that the spirit of Christmas Eve blessed us with good fortune, but everyone in my family had a very positive experience. The wife is VERY picky when it comes to her seafood. Even so, she thought her shrimp cocktail and raw oysters (on the half shell) were excellent. She was seriously surprised by how fresh they were, in both taste and texture. She also had the scallops, Cajun boiled, medium. Her only complaint, as well as mine, is that all of the boil formulations use too much butter (soy butter actually), and butter flavor comes through. Too much. It's much like getting wings with mild sauce...you think you're going to drown in butter. I'm not into the whole "boil scene," not outside of Arcadiana, anyway. So, I ordered Cajun fried rice with sausage. Although the rice was a bit dry, in general, I was quite pleased. The dish was surprisingly tasty! Who cares what the kids got. They ordered some messy, hoty, buttery, seafoody, boily things. They were happy. Beer selection? Not great. But, when I'm eating things that are especially hot, I'm perfectly content with a light domestic lager...specifically, Coors light, baby! Special shout out to our waiter, Tracy. This guy was fantastic. He, and his crew, really went out of their way, on Christmas Eve, to make our meal fun and special.

Finally made it to Cincy Crab and I'm kicking myself for not trying it sooner. Simply wow! This place is amazing. The staff are friendly, welcoming, & help you with any questions. Nicely decorated and clean. Our server, Anahi, was great! Food was hot, delicious, & not overcooked as can sometimes be the case with seafood boil restaurants. But not Cincy Crab. They do it right! We ordered; snow crab, head off shrimp, scallops, garlic butter & Cajun seasoning without spice & EVERYTHING was delicious!! Oh and the drinks.... Yummy!! We had the peach mojito & the Crab Claw. Reasonly priced and worth every penny! I can't wait to come back. We will be regulars for sure!

Loaded with flavor and in from New Orleans. This buttery garlic sauce is great. Try it.

Kristen was a great server and the garlic butter on the shrimp and snow crabs were fantastic. I also haven't had corn this good in a long time. Sweet and spicy with the garlic butter. I was very nervous at first bc they indicated a bunch of incidents where people don't pay and walk out. It can't be bc of the food bc it was great and reasonably priced. The savanna bananas were playing also. Made me eat a second round. Now to the gym.

The crab is really good, the shrimp was not bad too. Good vibes inside and the staff were really nice. Only complaint is that the garlic butter could've been saltier.

Dropped in on a Friday night. The place wasn't busy at all. They seemed to be limited in their wait staff however our waitress did very well given how many tables she had. Others in the restaurant were getting the famous seafood boil which came in a bag with a bib. Looked good we just were not up for the mess. The catfish platter came with plenty of food. The hush puppies were very good. The cat fish was average. Overall a decent place, I would return and try another dish.

I seen the place was only 2.5 stars so I read the reviews and most of them were just referring to the service lol . But the actual food WAS TASTY AF!! I got snow crab legs which they were kinda smaller then usual with sausage eggs and potatoes . The meal Was great , the food did take a little minute to come out but the waitress was nice and tried her best .. but for the most part I loved it

Ambiance was dark- like a bar-type of atmosphere- which didn't matter because it was an overcast day in Ohio. It was also more of a sports var as there were lots of TV screens. I ordered a chicken caprese sandwich after being assured by my server that it was one of her favorites. It came with delicious French Fries. The sandwich was good but not amazing. For my taste, the chicken was a bit overcooked, but better than undercooked. The fries were delicious, even though I only ate a few. Before I went to college, I worked in a nice seafood restaurant and our nightly task was to make sure ketchup containers were full. Therefore, I noticed that my container of ketchup was down to the last few squirts. Never a good thing/sound! Overall, not a bad place to eat, but nothing worth going out of your way to try, imo. I see that others gave it better reviews, so this is my experience, Pictures below...

We went again on Saturday. WOW!…read more Started with a Martini for my dining partner and iced tea for me. Both were great. The waiter (Josh, a five-star waiter if ever there was one) really knows how to take care of his customers. He really knows the menu, can explain the dishes along with their components and what makes them unique and paces each course perfectly. He even asked if we were BOTH done before any dishes were removed from the table. Nothing looks worse than one person still eating while the rest of the table has no plates in front of them. We started with the roasted carrot salad. The carrots were perfectly roasted and chilled with and amazing tahini "paste" and radicchio, perfectly dressed with a lemon vinaigrette. OUTSTANDING!!! Seriously, this could have been my entire meal! The tahini paste is great, and I made it once while making a tahini dressing for roasted Brussels sprouts. Tahini naturally gets thick (paste like) when liquid is added. To make the paste, just stop adding liquid to it and stop mixing until it gets smooth again. Seriously, delicious. We both ordered the chicken schnitzel for our entrees. It comes with a really nice side salad consisting of mixed greens, dressed again with a very mild vinaigrette. My only quibble (and it's a really small one) is I would have liked the schnitzel to be a bit thinner. That said, it was perfectly cooked, not at all dry and the thickness is up to the creator of the dish. I don't think there's a "standard" for this (ha, ha - get it!). Great breading and very tasty. The dessert... Again, had to go with the sticky toffee pudding! If this is on the menu, there's no way I'm not going to order it. GOD, it's just a perfect ending to a great meal, well, that along with a pot of French Press coffee. All in all, the meal came to $108.00 excluding the tip. Expensive, but WORTH EVERY PENNY! I spent that much a few weeks ago (maybe more) on a really awful meal/experience at a different place. You'll have to read my old reviews to figure that one out! Anyway, this place treats their employees like they actually appreciate them. They took them on a cruise! Of all the restaurants I used to work at, the best thing I ever received was a shift meal or maybe a cold beer because I was still at the place cooking apps at 1:00 in the morning and the manager wanted to go home but felt bad because I couldn't leave. Thanks for the glass of Miller Lite draft, Mr. Chi-Chi's manager guy! Everyone in the place, from the servers to the hostesses, to the bus folks and the floor manager had smiles and a sense of graciousness and appreciation to each and every customer. Try to find that at any other restaurant in Toledo. The food is top notch, made with very unique recipes and techniques you're not going to find anywhere else. The dining room and restrooms (at least the men's) are clean. I never had to ask for a refill on my iced tea or water. New silverware was brought before each course was served. The old plates were removed from the table after the staff asked if it was OK to do so. Proper training in procedure and etiquette is obvious. Again, just a great meal in every way - 10 out of 10! Can't wait to go back.

After visit #2, I'm not sure there will be a visit #3 anytime soon. The consensus among friends -- confirmed now by our own table -- is that everything is too heavy. The first few bites bring the oohs and the ahhs. By halfway through the plate, the ughs and the oofs begin. The menu reads as thoughtful and dialed in. Our table of four ordered very different entrees -- seafood, steak, pasta, salad -- and somehow every plate arrived at the same destination: rich, savory, dense. No acid. No brightness. And strangely, blue cheese and garlic had crept into every single bite, as if the kitchen could not bear to let a dish leave without them. A meal that should have pleased everyone left most of us with a mild remorse. I felt surprisingly ill for hours afterward -- not because anything was unsafe, not because it wasn't delicious, but because it was simply too much. Too rich. Too savory. The body, it turns out, asks for contrast, and we had not been given any. The service, on the other hand, is STILL outrageously good. Without question some of the best in the region -- better than nearly every higher-end room in town. But the atmosphere is stuffy, the food is one-note, and high quality is not the same thing as good execution. My wife's "medium plus" steak arrived extremely rare. My salmon was undercooked. At this price, that is inexcusable. Still -- the service. The service is something to behold.
