A drive thru experience and quick pit stop was A-OK. Speaker guy seemed friendly enough when ordering a Pepsi. The staff at the window as fine, no issues with processing my card. Pepsi is too sweet, but alright. The drink was fine the side and sticky. The lid was not fastened. Restroom was clean and had proper supplies. When walking out the grease smell very noticeable. 8/23/21: I stopped by on my way to Norfolk from VA. I wanted a kids meal before I hopped back on the road. I went through the drive thru & the order taker wasn't friendly. I let that go because when I got my food, it was ALL fresh. Yummmm yummmm. That's a plus for me. The parking lot had a lot of available parking on both sides of the restaurant. I think this was my first time trying Bojangles. We stopped here in our road-trip to get some lunch. They are kinda compare to Popeyes in service, flavor and prices. Dammit, the constant "It's Bo time, y'all!" ads finally got to me. I was thinking about lunch and as I drove through Emporia, I decided that I would have Bojangles. It's not too hard to stick with a keto diet at a fried chicken place and I did well with two chicken breasts and sides of cole slaw and green beans. The chicken was excellent. Perfectly cooked, meaty, lightly battered and just a little bit of zing with the flavor. The cole slaw was okay. It was a very light portion. I did have one small bite of the biscuit and it was very good. Light and flaky. The beans were awful. Mushy and tasting like someone poured "liquid smoke" into them. I tried hard, but they were terrible. The restaurant was busy and service was slow. A couple of tables needed cleaning, one of the trash bins was full and the condiments/utensils are was not fully stocked. Summary: Just get the chicken and biscuits. To go. Whenever I see a Bojangles, its time for a Bo Berry Biscuit!!! The best part of the visit for sure. Hot biscuit with the creamiest of drizzled glaze topping, forget the fork, eat it with your hands and lick your fingers when you are done. That is how good these biscuits are, you do not want to waste the glaze. When you are traveling, these biscuits make for good road trip food to put something on the belly, to hold you over til the next food stop. The service was okay, nothing to write home about. We were able to order relatively swiftly and with no issues. The chicken was pipping hot and the skin was extra crispy!!! Winner winner chicken dinner!! Well done, y'all. As far as Bojangle's go, you guys are on point. Currently, the restaurant is moderately busy, but the food is fresh, the staff is friendly and the dining room is clean. I NEVER expected a Bojangle's team member to pull out napkins, a spork & straw for me and set them on my tray with a smile, but that just happened. I travel a lot for work, and I so frequently feel that my patronage is unappreciated. It's the little things really show your customers that you care. No one should have to pull up and wait 15 minutes for a chicken sandwich at fast food a chicken sandwich drive-through. Also, no one wants really spicy chicken sandwich unless that's exactly what they ordered. Epic fail all the way around. There are so many other fast food places with much better service. On a recent trip down to North Carolina my car buddy simply would not shut up about how awesome Bojangles was. We stopped and gave it a try. It was pretty good. The place smelled great and the food was pretty decent. I'm not really gonna rave about fried fast food chicken, but it was good. If you're making your way down the East Coast why not stop in and give it a try. It's like that other famous chicken place without the proselytizing and treating their workers poorly. The Emporia exit off of 95 near the Virginia/NC border isusually one I pass by because it's always crowded and seemingly dirty because a lot of people pass through and I get the impression that people don't care there because people are just passing through so who cares lol. Well that changed for me with this location because we were passing through with a kid who had to pee so bad he was going to pee his pants so Emporia is where we stopped and Bojangles is where we decided to eat and use facilities. There was a bus arriving at the same time and I thought this couldn't be a good situation. However, this must have been planned because you'd never know there was a bus there by the way things went. The staff was super friendly and helpful and our ordering process went very smooth. The restrooms were surprisingly clean and I didn't leave feeling like I needed a shower. When I was leaving a staff member was there filling napkins and condiments and helped stock me up with what we needed for our meal and wished us a Blessed day...the Bo way. Came here for the first time and wasn't sure how it worked. We wanted the chicken but it was like 9:30am...they said they could do it so we waited. Let me tell you, not only is the service amazing, the food was awesome...so much so I had to come back again a few days later. I stopped in 3/4/23 on my way to NC. The food as always was amazing but that wasn't what impressed me most. The young man working the register Micah was amazing. There was an older gentleman, a Viet Nam vet in front of me and he was giving Micah his life story before ordering and Micah just kept smiling and saying yes sir, and smiling. Stopped here on Friday night about 8:30. There were 4 cars in front of us. Took more than 25 minutes to get food. When we finally got up to order station, the attendant told us we had to wait to order. I suspect she was trying to keep her stats positive (time from ordering to service). We waited there about 5 minutes before we were granted permission to place our order. Once I started speaking, she spoke over me to talk to someone else. So, I had to repeat my order. She interrupted again and I had to repeat again. Then I had to repeat my sides twice, and my drinks twice. After we paid, she gave me our drinks ( one of which didn't have the top snapped on so it spilled on my car door. She didn't care or apologize). Then we had to park our car and wait another 5-10 minutes for her to bring out our order. Again we ordered 3 identical sandwich meals with fries. Nothing complex. They seriously have the best french fries that Ive ever had in my life! The seasoning is unbelievable! And the same thing can be said about their crispy cajun club sandwich. It was fried to perfection and the center was a solid pice of white meat that was ridiculously tender and juicey. The lettuce and tomatoes on the sandwich were super fresh. It also had a thick piece of cheese and decent sized crunchy bacon. Every bite was heavenly. I was literally dancing while eating. Lol... Like I said, simply unbelievable! The roasted chicken bites didn't seem to have the same meat quality, but they were still very delicious. One of the things that I like most is that they give you mini tubs of sauce. They're literally triple or quadruple the size of the sauces that you would get at McDonald's. They're so big, I kind of felt guilty taking them. Lol. And another great thing about Bojangles' is that they serve breakfast all day. Their breakfast sandwiches were also some of the best fast food breakfast sandwiches that I've ever had. They're know for their biscuits and And I can vouch that they're seasoned very well, crunchy on the outside, warm and moist on the inside. And of course, buttery. It definitely puts their breakfast sandwiches in a league of their own. If you get a biscuit by itself, it really doesn't need butter or gravy. They're perfect in my opinion. McDonald's and BK could definitely takes some notes from Bojangles' on how to make a good breakfast sandwich. read more

Bojangles' rarely disappoints and I'm so glad that this visit was on point as it will be a while before I can have more. I just had to have some fries! I love Bojangles. I always have. It's something that I miss whenever I travel away from home. The fact that they are slowly creeping further up north and deeper into the south excites me. I would love to see the day where you can get Bojangles anywhere in the country! Ok, enough about my love for the place. This Bojangles is no exception to the standard I have for the places. It is extremely clean and quiet. The food is above par as always, and it's located approximately halfway between my house and my parents house. So needless to say I stop here often. I usually give these restraints five stars but I do have on issue with this one. The service can be a bit lacking at times. Sometimes I come in here and it's like no one wants to be there. Bojangles tastes like Popeyes and kfc's love child. The breading has a slight crunch but is overall tender and the chicken's texture is somewhere halfway between Popeyes and kfc's, the one glaring difference being less salty than both. Green beans are also similar to a KFC/Popeyes hybrid: nice big pieces of green bean and in a liquidy stock, but the porky smokiness of Popeye's. The biscuit here is the standout star- it's what the kfc biscuit has always aspired to be. Dirty rice was fantastic, I can see my self trying to imitate this at home. This is the best Bojangles I've ever been to. I stop here several times a week on my way home from work for a snack or a sweet potato pie. I live near the Petersburg VA location, and we drove an extra 30 minutes each WAY to come to this Bojangles to pick up a 20-pc for my birthday dinner last week. That other location always has a 10 minute wait on sweet potato pies, has never gotten a large order correct, and their chicken is terrible. Emporia Bojangles makes their food better every time I go there, and I've been going since 2014! Thank you and keep it up! This is the best franchise around. read more

The last time I went, I didn't know they had all you can eat chicken on Tuesday and Thursday, and no one mentioned it, after I ate I noticed 1 sign in a side window. I've always loved Bojangles because I live in Pennsylvania and enjoy stopping there on my family trip to Myrtle Beach. At any location I go to, the staff is always really nice and the food is always delicious. It's all white meat chicken and I highly recommend Bojangles to anyone traveling in the Southern states.
