This was my first visit to a Bojangles. It was a Sunday at 11:00am. I ordered the Bo's Chicken Sandwich combo with Bo-Tato Rounds and a Sausage Bo-Berry Biscuit from the kiosk. I filled my cup at the drink dispenser and took a seat. It wasn't busy at all at the time. I enjoyed my meal in silence. I guess the seasoning makes their chicken sandwich unique from a thousand different chicken places. The Bo-Berry Biscuit was very flavorful. I left wanting another visit. read more

Well what a shame. Saw a Bojangles for the first time in my life and had to try it, only to be disappointed. I went in and it was super big and super empty. They weren't busy at all and the staff member who approached me by the counter looked bored, yet she couldn't bother to answer a simple question and looked annoyed when I tried to ask for advice, with her only pointing to the menu. Sucks that automation is taking away jobs, but I felt deep in my heart for a moment that an AI could've treated me better. To think I worked at fast food once upon a time despite having a college degree during the financial crisis and worked much harder for only $7 an hour, and yeah even with inflation it's nowhere near the minimum wage now. Anyway, I did like the bit of kick in the batter of the chicken sandwich. I didn't like that you couldn't add extra pickles and frankly Popeye's has a better (and cheaper) crispier sandwich, which you can add a spicy sauce to. Oh yeah, looks like Bojangles also charge for sauce. Shouldn't at least one or two come per entree? Literally using the sauce to make your food taste better so we'll want to return, these are bizarre choices fast food chains are making these days. I can go to CFA for a better experience, and staff will seem friendlier and happier there. Even the Wendy's and BK next door have people who are at least chill (instead of downright cold) if not friendlier, which they are. At least the sauce cups are a good size though and I just paid it without a complaint. Still, so much for Southern hospitality! Mac & cheese was also very bland and generic, enough though I thought I read it was made with 4 types of cheese. I'll need to give their tenders and peach cobbler a try next time, but also noticed there was no way to order tenders without making it a combo. Ordered food from tablet didn't realize the person before left and didn't cancel order. Paid when we got our food saw there was item we didn't order, as I attempted to get refund the person at register was new and didn't know how to do the refund. Asked for help was told to do refund told co worker I don't know how. This was done about 3 times the co worker just ignored me and continued working the drive up. So when I got loud and started yelling he couldn't understand why ... place sucks lunch cold by the time I sat down. Do not go there no one knows what they are doing. read more

Being a southern fast food chain having it's only location in NJ, of course we had to visit and see what all the hype was about. Within a month of its grand opening the lines at Bojangles were insane, so waiting for some of the excitement to die down was definitely a good call. We visited for breakfast without really knowing what the menu consisted of and were surprised to see a good amount of patrons grabbing some early morning eats as well. We opted for the chicken biscuit (+ cheese) and the sausage, egg & cheese biscuit. Biscuits were fresh, fluffy and buttery, they definitely made the sandwich. Unlike other fast food chains you can watch the staff prepare biscuits fresh in front of you, surprisingly rolling the dough out and not premade from frozen! While the sausage wasn't anything special (just tasted like a standard fast food frozen sausage) the chicken was incredible. Crispy, expertly seasoned, I completely understand the hype behind this chain. The Bo Rounds, their version of hash browns, were amazing. Their iced cold brew and coffee were surprisingly good, not something you expect from a fast food place. I'm only giving this 4 stars because it does seem like a good chunk of the original Bojangles menu is missing. I've heard such great things about their fried chicken, but it looks like this location only sells chicken tenders. What a shame, but we will definitely be returning! read more

Bo's is back in the heart of central NJ and did not disappoint! In the first few weeks you need to expect a long line however I was not expecting the speed for the volume. The staff was efficient and calm despite the dinner rush. The manager proactively asked the staff to keep the side conversations to a minimum so that orders can go out. While waiting for the bathroom (well kept) the staff allowed customers to go first major plus. Now let's talk about then food. This location currntly had tenders no bone in chicken (sorry to disappoint.) The crunch was unbelievable and just how I remembered from down south. Blueberry milkshake was perfect. Not too thick or sweet and really hit. Biscuits are plump, savory with a bit of tang. Peach dip is an experience on its own. read more

The sweet tea was not as sugary as I like, but it's probably just right for others. Skip the peach cobbler and limited time Bo' berry cookies, and go for the Bo' berry biscuits instead. Sooo, Ordered a 3 piece chicken tender combo. Ordered an extra side of mac & cheese. Checked my bag, missing mac & cheese. Beeped... sat .... Beeped... sat.... For about 3 minutes of workers walked by... Finally the guy comes back to the window... We say we're missing mac and cheese. He asked if it was part of the combo...No we ordered and paid for it.... Chicken tenders are really good, crispy outside, soft inside. Peach Honey Pepper sauce is sooo good The "Iced Tea" is really lightly sweetened sweet tea. The biscuits are better than popeyes The mac and cheese is 3/10 could do better (chick fil A's mac and cheese is better) I also got the peach cobbler.. Had to try this place because of the mixed reviews and unfortunately I wasn't impressed. The chicken and biscuit was very flavorful but the chicken was hidden under all the breading. The hash browns had a strong garlic taste which in my opinion clashed with the spice from the chicken sandwich. Now, this bo biscuit is something different. I'm highly disappointed. You must understand. Every time I go down south. Bo's is my first stop. Known for there huge perfectly fried chicken pieces. So understand my excitement hearing Bo was opening up less than 5 mins from where I sleep. So imagine my surprise when I'm told they don't sell chicken pieces. The lady must have thought I was nuts for asking the same question in 10 different ways. They do have breakfast. So I tried it today. A #3 sausage, egg, and cheese biscuit - sandwich only and the number 1 chicken biscuit with tots. The potatoe tots are huge so there's only 4 of them in the small package. A drink was supposed to come with it. Just realized I didn't get it as I'm writing this review. Silly me I got beat for my drink. Breakfast was simply OK. Nothing special. Not to bad. Back to what I was saying. You come all this far north to sell high price chicken finger meals. 12 piece chicken finger, 2 sides, 4 biscuits and a half gal drink for $44. Really. That's the best offer you got. No thanks Sadly I do not see this place to last long without chicken pieces. I will be surprise if it makes a year. Back down south I go. The fact you lack the southern hospitality and chicken pieces. Yeah this place is doomed. But I'll check back on them in 3 months to see if they changed their mind on their menu. On the same mile stretch of Stelton road exists four national chicken restaurants. Although I am not pleased with the fact that the newer Bojangles stores only serve the boneless variety, the tenders here are very good. My daughter had the sandwich and said it is the best of the four places. The store is new, so speed is a bit of an issue, but the order was correct and served hot. The sweet tea is very good. I had the dirty rice and it is as good as I remembered from the NC restaurants. read more

I've waited a long time for this place to come to NJ and it's finally here. Forgive the wait or delay if you come they are brand new and they're sure ironing it out but it is worth the wait. No Bone In Chicken at this time which may be a regional thing, not sure but the menu is similar to Chic Fil A. Sandwiches and Tenders etc. This is why the 4 stars. Crispy battered Chicken with a hint of spice on a great bun. Chicken strips and sauces were on point!! The biscuits are the best! Chic Fil A has some real competition now. Was excited to see that they opened a location close to home after going to one in TN. Had biscuits and gravy, which was ok. Definitely needed more seasoning and not a lot of sausage but the amount of gravy you get is a lot. Had the Bo rounds, which were good and not overly greasy. Service was pretty quick, staff were friendly. Place was clean and fairly quiet. We went on a Sunday morning. My only complaint was my daughter and I wanted vanilla coffee, which is on the menu, and the worker asked a manager about vanilla flavored creamer and he was told that it's in the pump bottle so we only got regular creamers. I don't know what are all the complaints about this place, but I have none. The chicken fingers were good (not sure which I prefer more: Bojangles or Cane's), but the biscuit was divine - fluffy, buttery, and very tasty. So this is the first Bojangles I have seen in jersey. Also first time having it. There is alot I want to try to get the full affect. But I started simple. Because if the simple stuff isnt good we'll then you know its not worth it. So here we go down the line. The chicken tenders are juicy and breaded perfectly. Very moist amd delicious. There peach dipping sauce is very good. The fries well they could be better. But the biscuit was yummy. I felt Popeyes is better then KFC. BUT these may be at the top above Popeyes. There not dried out. Perfect texture. The bo berry biscuit is amazing along with There bo berry milkshake. Not over powerfully sweet. There sweet tea is good. Could be sweeter for my liking. As far as the experience inside. Well it was there third day open and the inside was packed. And they had a great syster to stay open amd busy by closing off one entrance have people circle around with a menu to the drive thru to order. It was seamless how they worked it out to keep things moving. So for a drive through experience I feel it ran smoother then Chick-Fil-A when they have two lines open. read more

Chicken sandwich was ok, tasted like everyone elses. Chicken fingers were like Popeyes, lots of extra crispy batter, but better chicken. The honey mustard was ok, but the peach sauce was gross. Fries were good. The biscuits were just ok, nothing ground breaking. The gravy for the biscuits and gravy, absolutely terrible. Skip that at all costs. I would love to have reviewed the peach cobbler and bo biscuit, especially becuase I paid for them, but they were not in the bag. Also, their sweet tea was weird. Almost tasted carbonated. Finally got a chance to try this place because it's been totally madness since it opened crowd wise.I ordered a Egg,Cheese and bacon Biscuit Combo. They did mess up on my order twice as far as the bottles of water but I will chalk it up to just opening. The biscuit itself was good and fresh. But the egg and cheese was standard fast food pre made garbage and the bacon was almost raw. I did love the bo rounds they were more meaty than chick filas hash browns and less greasy. Am I disappointed there's no bone in chicken here, yes however I'm going to base my review on what this Bojangles provided when I visited. The staff was nice and helpful and I was impressed with the cleanliness of the restaurant esp the bathroom. I ordered the deluxe chicken sandwich combo which was pretty good, the chicken had a nice crunch to it. The season fries that came with it were just way too salty. I'm not a fan of chicken tenders but I did try my husband's they were OK. We had a regular biscuit and a Boberry biscuit, the regular biscuit was the best fresh, warm, soft and fluffy. The Boberry biscuit was good a little on the sweet side. I would definitely come back when I'm in the area and I would love to try the dirty rice with my chicken sandwich. read more

The Bo Berry Biscuits and their plain biscuits were good. I was a bit disappointed about the family meals being tenders and not chicken legs/wings/thighs but hoping in the future they'd consider adding some combo meals with the actual chicken (not just tenders). I liked the chicken sandwich but the fries was very salty. i will probably try another side order next time as I plan to come back in the next few weeks and try other items in the menu. we went via the drive thru as the line inside the store was even longer. The Boberry cookies were okay. No customers Sunday night before Christmas with the crowd of shoppers. Weird. So the coleslaw is not as good as I remember. KFC is better.The minimal Bojangles experience is still disturbing. I've heard that they feel that bone and chicken is not that popular anymore and that tenders are the way to go. But I think it's more of a financial and efficiency perspective that is pushing that agenda. If they only serve tenders and they only have people ordering tenders then they're always good. . But if they sell bone in chicken,people typically like different pieces-white meat, dark meat. Not to mention the separation of leg,thighs, breast, and wings, which they now don't have to contend with.Want chicken? Everyone gets tenders. Their ordering,stocking and preparation is now simplified under the guise of better servicing the consumer. Since Bojangles is not an established brand in New Jersey, although customers familiar with the out of state locations,may feel shortchanged, the new customers will assume that this is just a regular Bojangles experience. First of all, the parking lot layout is confusing and unnecessarily complicated. We went there because of a free sandwich birthday reward (which they only give you 3 days to redeem). However, the staff informed us that they CANNOT accept ANY offers from the app. We were told it's supposedly a technical limitation on their end. Why would they bombard customers with promo emails with offers that their restaurant can't process? Blatant bait n switch. The food itself is unexceptional. The tenders are fine but "fine" is not good enough to compete with established outlets like Popeye's or Chick Fil A. The staff's attitude was not the best either. I was pleasantly surprised to see a Bojangles pop up in Piscataway as I haven't seen one outside of the south. Chicken fingers were so tender and juicy, and flavorful and crunchy on the outside. I see people complaining this location only has chicken tenders and not actual chicken legs and thighs etc, but it didn't bother me as I prefer tenders anyway. I'm not usually a biscuit fan, but theirs was freshly made from scratch and delicious. I took a star off bc I was so looking forward to their mashed potatoes and was disappointed to find out they don't have it on their limited menu. I got fries instead, and they were just ok, a bit too salty. They had a looong line since they just opened, and one of the entrance had to be closed to control the traffic. I mean wow where do I even begin? If this is how the Bojangles in NJ are going to be, then it was an absolute complete waste to open Bojangles in NJ. Let's start off with the service. Just a complete abomination. I went a few weeks after the grand opening so it was not too busy. I ordered chicken sandwich with fries, chicken tenders with fries, 2 biscuits, kids Mac and cheese, Diet Coke, and water bottle. I also asked for honey on the side. I got my bag of food but no drinks. Had to ask for the two drinks. Then I realized in the bag I only received the chicken sandwich and chicken tenders. Had to go back again and ask for both my fries, both my biscuits, honey mustard, and Mac and cheese. I then get home to finally eat my order and I specifically asked twice for my chicken sandwich to be plain and of course it was loaded with mayo. Now the only reason I even got a chicken sandwich was because I was told I could not get a biscuit sandwich. Now I've been going to Bojangles in Charlotte for over a decade and they are known for their chicken biscuits. But for some ridiculous reason this location only sells chicken biscuits and bo rounds until 2 pm. I was shocked when I heard this. So if you come at 2:01 or later you can literally only get chicken fingers (which are inferior to chicken supremes which they don't sell) and a chicken sandwich. Down south you can get these biscuits and Bo rounds any time of the day. Why even bother opening up here if you're not going to run it the same as the Bojangles down south? I was so excited for Bojangles to come up north. I was telling all my friends and family who had never had it before how excited they should be. Now I'm telling them not to even think of wasting their time to make the trip to Piscataway, because I certainly won't be again unless something changes. Giving this location a 1 star is a grossly high score compared to how this location compared to others, but unfortunately Yelp doesn't allow zero stars. Think about adding chicken supremes. Allow people to add cheese to their chicken sandwiches/biscuits (I was also told no to this). And most importantly knock off the 2pm nonsense on biscuits and bo rounds. read more

We were so excited to hear that "Bojangles" was coming to the North! During the Grand Opening we ran over to try the Southern favorite . Having worked for the company in the past, I was eager to see if the taste had transferred well. Let me start off by saying, the ambiance in the restaurant is welcoming and clean. We ordered the Steak and Egg and Sausage and Egg Biscuit combos along with other dishes. The fluffy, Buttery Biscuit didn't disappoint, and the Light and Crispy ample Steak patty hit the spot along with the well cooked egg, it was the perfect combination! The Sausage biscuit was much smaller and very lightly flavored, the egg and biscuit saved it. Next up was the Bo rounds, they fell very flat! The seasoning was bland and the texture was off. I am not certain as to why. Perhaps they were underdone? We also ordered the Sweet Tea. The tea was very weak in flavor and sugar. My smile soon turned to a frown. The recipe was missing at least another cup of sugar and two extra large tea bags! It was like drinking brown water. In the South, "Bojangles" is famous for their awesome Sweet Tea! It is not for the faint of stomach, it is quite obvious that the real tea method is not being followed here! The so called sausage gravy was lumpy, watery and tasteless with bits of meat here and there. The dirty rice container was half filled and in a very small container! Last but not least the chicken tenders were our last hope. The chicken tenders although Light and Crispy with good flavor, were a bit too spicy. I was disappointed to hear that they don't plan on adding a non-spicy alternative nor are they planning to add bone-in chicken! The Peach cobbler was awful with a hint of peach on top of a biscuit. It was small and greasy. To say that our trip to "Bojangles"up North, was a let down is an understatement. This particular store is definitely cutting corners at the Franchise's expense. I heard other customers complaining about the quality and sizes also. If issues are not addressed sooner than later, they will close before the end of the year! I tried to go here friday night, but the drive thru line looked crazy so instead went to chick-fil-a around the corner. This sunday morning i was up early so i was there in drive thru at 10:40 am, since they have breakfast all day ordered sausage,egg, and cheese on biscuit also wanted to try their chicken so ordered so called Bo's combo with fries and drink. Thier sausage egg, and cheese is just about avearge, and they gave me a second sausage, egg and cheese instead of chicken sandwich that's supposed to come as part of Bo's combo !! Reading other reviews, it seems the staff are rushing orders, getting them wrong in few occasions or missing items. Also their app so far does not work and no one answers the store phone line also. If BoJangels will be continuing like this, their first location in the state will be their last !!! MANAGER/OWNER AT BOJANGLES WAKE UP, STAFF NEEDS MORE TRAINING AND BETTER QUALITY CONTROL TO GET THE ORDERS RIGHT !!! Ordered a decent sized order that consisted of 3 milk shakes, 3 meals, and a 12 count of Bo-berry biscuits. We waited in like for 20 minutes and a worker came to take our payment and we payed. Went up to the window to get our food and the worker told us that there are no milkshakes and that they couldn't offer us a refund. He also told us that there are no more Bo-berry biscuits left either and he couldn't offer us a refund. Also, no utensils or condiments (which we asked for) were in the bag. Absolutely unbelievable, my friends and I were so excited to go to bojangles we drove over an hour to the establishment. Will not be going back and very upset. read more

I wanted to order the 8-piece family chicken (Bone-in) meal as advertised on the website, but was told the smallest size was 12-piece. When I opened the meal at home, I was disappointed to see it was only tenders which I never re-order anywhere because they are usually dry, bland, and heavily breaded. I also asked if you had a cookie and I was offered the Bo-berry cookie, but I unfortunately received the biscuit. I wanted unsweetened tea, but received sweetened (was never asked my choice, I guess). The Saus/Egg/Chz Biscuit and Gravy Biscuit were disappointingly bland because there was no savory flavor expected from the sausage. The good news is that the Dirty Rice was good and the tenders were probably the best I ever had because they were moist, tender, and not too heavily breaded. Per the signage, there seems to be a big waiting area for Delivery orders and very little space for dine-in/carry out customers to wait. So, the biggest problem is - Where is the Bone-In Chicken sold in PA and NC and shown on your website? There's no reason to return without this.
