I can't say much about the dining room, small with a few tables but the. Burgers and chickens make up for the dingy vibe. Ordered the smashmac, smash Doritos and a bowl of chicken fries. My burger smelled a little, like the meat smell, but overall juicy, bun was fresh, and toppings were on point. Fried Chicken is juicy! If I'm ever back, I'll order the chicken.

Buns N Shakes in New Brunswick has a really great menu and some delicious burgers and shakes but there are a couple of things to keep in mind. First, parking in this part of New Brunswick is terrible, it's very limited. You will have to drive around to find a spot or suck it up and pay to park in a garage. Also, the wait for food can be pretty long, especially during busy times. You can order ahead which I would definitely suggest. That said, the burgers are delicious, they're juicy and full of flavor, and there are some unique choices on the menu. Overall, it's a great place for a burger if you don't mind a bit of a wait and some parking struggles. Worth the visit!

Hubby and I tried it yesterday for the first time and it was DELICIOUS! I had the Nashville Chicken sandwich combo (I added a fried mozz cheese) with onion rings and the Nashville hot fried shrimp app. Hubby got the smash burger double with fries. Everything was freshly made to order and OMG. We were the only ones there so our food was ready very quick! All of the items were seasoned very well and so flavorful! I did also order the Mac n cheese bits but unfortunately I wasn't really feeling it. Hubby ordered the Biscoff milkshake which was tasty and creamy. Some small pieces of cookie would've been a nice addiction but it was still great anyway!! There was a unique smell that I wasn't too pleasant and the only reason it's getting 4 stars. We will definitely be coming again with friends and family!!

Buns N Shakes is a small venue w/4 tables & a window bench seating. There's metered street parking, & a paid parking garage across the street. It's has local burger joint feel, with an open grilling area that you can see. Graded are Chickcheetos, Smashmac, The Original (Double), Nashville Hot Honey (not pictured), Dynamite, & Lotus Biscoff Shake (not pictured). All were very good. Well balanced & messy, but in a fun way, I guess. This was a first, as I had to wait a long time for my to-go order, more about that at the end, I actually had time to low key ask other customers to grade their food. Unfortunately, the wait was long because they never processed our order. We had a number, & I sat and watched as the numbers after us came out, & then when I finally spoke to someone, I learned they never started our order. Apparently it was a printer issue, but again, the orders after ours were filled. The Woman at the counter apologized, but nothing else was offered. With that being said, the food was truly good, & I would definitely go back, hopefully for a more timely experience. Single smash burger with no onions

I came here on a rainy Wednesday evening. It wasn't any parking so I parked in the parking deck across the street. It cost me $10. I went in and I ordered a hot honey chicken sandwich, a single Smashburger (no onions), and the biscoff shake. Our food took a while to come out because they forgot our order. So we waited about 25 minutes to get our food but we got our milkshake instantly. The food was good. I thought the hot honey chicken sandwich would've been more spicy. If it had more spice, it would have been amazing. It wasn't greasy and the chicken was cooked to perfection. My only con is that the pickles were cut too thick and the sandwich wasn't spicy enough. The smash burger was OK too. The Bisco shake was a 10 out of 10. It is a must try when you come here. Everything cost $30. $40 including parking. I would take the 30 min drive to cone here again. Ps- the prices in store are higher than the online menu

This was sooo good! Service was fast, food was fresh. Pretty chill ambiance, really good burger. The patties are super thin just like a smash burger should be! I got a double in case the single was too thin, glad I did.

The smash burger at is tender, juicy and takes you on over a journey of flavor with the sauce and caramelized onions. Paired with the cheesy fries and Nutella milkshake ... it's a trip to heaven. The staff is very courteous and quick to take and make orders to perfection. It's located in the great neighborhood with such cool vibes. Highly recommend this place.

This a great option for sandwiches and burgers we found near the Rutgers campus area. We ordered the Nashville hot honey sandwiches with French fries. Both the sandwiches were absolutely delicious. The chicken was seasoned well and nicely presented. The french fries were a generous portion, golden crisp and seasoned. It's not a table service, so you order at counter and pickup food there also. The were a few tables or rather hand full of tables. The ambiance was ok. There was a TV mounted, which was showing some soccer games.

This shop is located in the heart of New Brunswick and as result no parking. However, there is street parking across the shop. Also, a pay garage is right across the street too. They have about 6 tables to dine in, but most of the people I see were take out orders. I came here with my wife and we ordered the honey chicken sandwich, burger, loaded fires, and mac and cheese. The chicken sandwich had nice flavor while the burger was just plain to me. The mac & cheese was just standard while the loaded fries had a nice combination of items mixed together. The fries came with beef, cheese, pickles, and Cole slaw on the side. Honestly, I felt like I gained 5 pounds eating the food. I wouldn't recommend eating this all the time but once in while is fine.

Buns N Shakes is a newer burger option in New Brunswick that opened since my last visit, so a group of us stopped in to try. Interior is nicely decorated but there is a limited amount of seating. Menu consists of Smashburgers, Chicken, Mac & Cheese, Fries, Milkshakes, and a few other items. I ordered an original combo, with two patties, that included fries and a fountain drink. The OG sauce is similar to the Big Mac sauce and they serve Pepsi products. How was the burger? It was delicious and the single patty might be enough if you are not super hungry, they were larger than expected. The fries come with a nice seasoning, but were not spicy. For the combo, the price was not bad. The only part that was a little disappointing are the Milkshakes, they are just average and a little expensive. Overall, I'd come back here again as the burger was delicious.

Very small place - best for take out. Went on a Wednesday during dinner time and wasn't busy. The menu is simple and all that you would want for some smash burgers & fried chicken sandwiches. They are all offered with creative twists to add-on and will fulfill your craving for some greasy food. The chicken sandwich has a kick to it whether mild or spicy - if you don't like any spicy, stick to the burger. Parking garage is across the street for easy access. Staff was super friendly and would recommend. @YelpNewJersey

Came for lunch on a weekend and it was pretty busy. Most of the seats were taken. Ordered the original burger, the classic chicken sandwich, the smash mac and fries. The original burger was a smash burger with cheese, sautéed onions and their special sauce. Overall I thought the burger was very flavorful. It was a well done juicy smash burger. The sauce and sautéed onions gave the burger even more flavor and juiciness. The classic chicken sandwich was pretty good. It wasn't the juiciest chicken sandwich I've had but it was flavorful with the dry spices and the cooling slaw. The smash mac was something I haven't had before. It's mac and cheese with a chopped up smash burger and their special sauce. The Mac and cheese itself was extremely cheesy and creamy. The burger on top of it added a flavorful protein aspect to it and the sauce gave it some sweetness and acidity. The fries were nice fresh but I thought could've used some sort of seasoning or maybe some salt. Overall it felt like a good classic burger joint with extra twists. I would definitely come back again if I'm craving high end fast food.

A short walk later, I found myself at Destination Dogs, a place I had seen in photographs that suggested capaciousness. In reality, it is smaller.  This is not a complaint, just an observation.  I remember once hearing something about the contents of small packages. At 12:30 the place was full. Packed with humanity and appetite. I was seated quickly, as if someone had anticipated my hunger in advance. From the bar came the sound of construction crews discussing their midday rituals. Apparently this is where they come on Fridays, to repair themselves while they repair the city. It explained everything. Service was swift and attentive, a minor miracle given the crowd. I began with a Scotch egg, an item that seemed to have wandered in from another story entirely. I ordered it for that reason. I had always imagined my first Scotch egg would be eaten in an English pub under low ceilings and older regrets. Instead, here it was. Perfectly crisp, warm, and generous. The universe does not ask for permission. Then came the main event. The menu is an atlas of hot dogs. Domestic. International. Proteins in tube form arranged like possibilities. There is even an invitation to build your own, which I accepted. I attempted to recreate a favorite from Crif Dogs, a thing called the Spicy Redneck. Bacon wrapped dog. Pickled jalapenos. Coleslaw. Simple in theory. Destination Dogs improved upon it in every way that matters. The bacon crisped with purpose. The jalapenos spoke clearly. The coleslaw behaved. The hot dog itself seemed proud to be there. All of this, plus a 16 ounce beer, cost me about twenty five dollars with tip. A small price for order in a chaotic universe. Five stars. Not because perfection exists, but because this comes close enough to make the argument.

As for ambiance, it's a bar, has TV, liquor, beer, etc., but clean. If I was local I'd be a regular!

I walked in on a rainy Friday night shortly after 10pm and it was freezing cold on the inside. Shreya was working the register and was extremely present and nice to speak with. I asked for her recommendations and of course she suggested the burger. I took her up on that option and ordered a bacon cheeseburger. She said the fries were also a must. I was extremely hungry, so I also ordered the Chicken Club Burger, crispy instead of grilled. She asked me if there was anything else I needed and I jokingly said a side of heat. She checked with the other patrons inside to see if they were cold along with Jenn who was working and they concurred as well. Within minutes she was on the phone with the owner who quickly addressed the issue by cutting on the heat. A few moments and I could tell things were warming up. Now onto the food. Everything was hot. The burger was delicious, but nothing was too special. The fries were seasoned well and had a spicy sauce to go with them. The Fried Chicken club was AMAZING! By far the biggest chicken sandwich I had ever eaten. The chicken was juicy. I could taste the cheese and the bacon. The chicken was way bigger than the bun. I wish I had ordered two.
