My wife and I have been here a few times and I would give it a 10 out of five if yelp would allow me. Right now I am sitting in a chair on there lawn overlooking the Rollinghills of vineyards. I haven't actually been to the tasting room, this is strictly for the Fireside Fridays. We have been keeping this winery in the back of our mind since they first opened and the cheese shop told us about it but we have a habit of not visiting local wineries. But this all changed, when a friend invited us to the last Fireside Friday. I had no idea it was a thing, and I sure wish I had known about it earlier in the year. What a great event and idea! The view from here is beautiful. The sunset views can't be beat. A large group of friends all huddled around one of the fire pits out on the back lawn, enjoyed snack and drank a few bottles of wine. All while the band played a wide variety of music. The events are free so you just show up with friends and they have wine available for purchase by the glass or bottle. There is a lot of room with plenty of spots to stake out a great view. The grounds are fun to walk around when there is enough light. Staff selling the wine was very nice and helpful. What a great experience and I can't wait for next summer to make this a regular thing with my friends or at least my hubby. read more

We like everything about Bokisch: their Spanish-style crafted wines, attentiveness, knowledge, relaxed atmosphere, accessibility (for places to taste and their operating days / hours). We are members. It has taken us awhile to fully grasp everything they are doing here. Understanding their wines is important and that takes time and effort. As their wines age they become softer and even more complex. Their young wines are fresh and vibrant / ready to drink but many will age well. They now offer a Sparkling Albarino which even in a short time has matured and developed into a nice offering. The events at Bokisch are non-stop. Always something on the calendar. Hats off to all their staff for the effort it takes to continually being hosts for all kinds of fun. Liz and Marcus (owners) are the epitomy of 'hospitality' and the spirit of loving what they do. We spent an afternoon here on a sunny Saturday in March. Tastings were outside with a beautiful view of their vineyards. Food is available for purchase to enjoy with your wine. So glad that Bokisch Vineyard has found a way to have do wine tasting during the Pandemic. They have lots of tables with umbrellas for shade if needed. Their servers bring wine in small individual bottles to make there is less possibility of spread of the virus. It is a clever idea, and also makes it so servers are able to serve more guests. As we meandered and researched around the various wineries, we revisited and ended signing up as members (our latest one out of a couple). Although the winery is located on the outskirt of Lodi's east side, it is tucked in nicely in a country setting. The tasting room has a good contemporary ambience feel (thinking it was remodeled) and the area/grounds outside is spacious with a nice relaxing environment. The view of the vineyard from hillside is beautiful especially at sunset. We had visited a couple of times during the week where Joy was great servicing us -- she is very knowledgeable and friendly! Having visited the Iberian peninsula and loving their wine there, we enjoyed hearing Joy explain about the Spanish wine varietals here. Bokisch has a nice selection of delicious wine; and liked that they are classified Lodi Rules - certified sustainable! Recently, we attended our first Fireside Friday and Pickup Party which were enjoyable and relaxing; however, we have recommendations. Although the staff is friendly and attentive at their stations, it would be nice that they maneuver around periodically check in and assist where needed with customers. We only saw band members greeting around. Also, it would to good have someone attend the food station for reasons. And although, we were early looking forward to have Lockeford Sausage, there were none. Regardless, and overall, we enjoy the wine selection and are pleased to be wine club members. read more

Wonderful winery featuring Spanish varietals. In one of our first "outings" as things open up again (Covid-19), we made reservations to go out to Bokisch. They have done a great job setting up an outdoor tasting area with gorgeous views of the vineyards. Lots of space between tables, staff is appropriately masked, easy to be out and feel safe. Great winery to start or end your wine tasting day. It is located off the beaten path however worth the drive for a visit. We visited for W&C weekend on a Sunday at 11:30am. They had a cute photo op set up and many snacks and lots of help in the tasting room. We were welcome with friendly, smiling faces eager to pour for us. We had a set 5 tastings and all of them were great. We especially enjoyed the Tempranillo as it was a lighter one than what we're used to but still excellent. I think it was the Graciano that was a pleasant surprise. The Verdelho was delish, we ended up purchasing a case. We will be back to enjoy a glass or bottle, the fire pits and views. read more

Such a beautiful spot to end the day wine tasting. Bokisch has a stellar view and was recommended to us to go at sunset by the hospitality manager from Michael David. We opted to purchase a glass and enjoy it by the fire pits set up outside since it was getting late and we didn't want to have to go back and forth for tastings. There were several groups doing the same and some even set up a whole table with food to spend some time. What a hidden gem! Tucked away in the country with beautiful vineyard views and amazing Spanish wines! We made reservations and were seated right away last Friday. The hostess was very nice and allowed us to pick our spot as there weren't a lot people. She was pleasant throughout our whole experience and everyone follows protocol so it's very safe to be there. They offer cheese and cracker to add to your flights! Loved the cheddar but don't recall the specific name. It was windy so I was unable to take a photo of the flights and food options however the Albariño and Tempranillo were wonderful! Loooooovvveeeee this winery! I went to 5 wineries last year for my birthday and ended with Bokisch. The customer service, the ambiance, the views, and the wine were above par. I loved it so much on my birthday last year, that I came back for my birthday this year. I only went to 1 winery this year and Bokisch was it. Justin was great! The Friday night before the Lodi Wine & Chocolate we (lots of friends and family members) stayed at the Jackson Rancheria Casino. Saturday morning we started our wine adventure weaving through Lodi's backstreets to all those semi-hidden, distant wineries. Our first winery stop was Bokisch winery. The drive was nice and the winery had a giant shed feel with a lot of character inside. Staff was very friendly and looked like they took pride in working their. Wines were pleasurable. During normal business days(not special events) the wine tasting is hel in the front building. During the Wine/Chocolate Tasting it was held in the rear, backside, lower end of the main building. Not as handicap accessible than the regular tasting room but there are other options to get you there. I'm sure if asked, they would gladly accommodate. read more

Totally worth the drive from Sacramento! It's probably the furthest Lodi winery in the region, but I do not mind! The scenic route along the way, and then the incredible experience we had at the winery placed this in my top 5 in the region. I discovered my love for Spanish varieties of wine here. Their Albariño is to die for! The prices are so affordable and the layout is so relaxing and gorgeous I almost felt I was in the South of Spain. Rolling hills of vineyards, comfy chairs and couches covered by umbrellas, and of course some corn hole when you're feeling a little competitive from that liquor courage. Visited yesterday with family from Virginia. Bokisch offers one of the best vineyard landscapes in Lodi. Their outdoor area is lovely and conducive to sitting and relaxing over conversation and wine. Their wines were pretty good...I enjoyed their Albariño. I'm giving three stars because our tasting experience could have been better. It's not an inexpensive tasting at $15.00/ person, but that is waived if you purchase a bottle. Unfortunately, we weren't so taken with any bottle that we thought to buy one...so $45.00 to taste. Here's my issue...We were one of two tables outside so it was not a busy afternoon. Instead of bringing the flight to you so you can enjoy sitting and tasting, you have get up and go to the bar for each taste and bring it back to your table. So you're up and down, up and down and it just took away from the experience. Of course, you have the option to stand at the bar for the tasting. We brought some munchies to have with our wine so we preferred having a table and one of us had difficulty in getting up and down in the Adirondack chair due to hip issues , so sitting was preferable. Perhaps I should have asked to just have them pour the flight into small vases like I see from other reviews that they did in the earlier days of Covid. Oh well... Additionally, it seemed like the music was from one of the employee's play list. I didn't enjoy it and would have much preferred something a bit more classic or acoustic to go with the scenery ... I'm not an old biddy in any sense, but I'm pretty sure the elderly couple next to us would have agreed as well. I really feel like part of enjoying a wine has a lot to do with the experience. Don't get me wrong, everyone was super friendly, just wished they were a bit more accommodating. I will say, I have had this experience at times with tasting I have done mid-week with other wineries as well. I actually prefer tasting mid week to avoid the crowds but it's as if they are fitting tastings in between their work. That's how it felt... Weekends seem to cater more to tasters. Lastly, the taste is literally two sips. I've wine tasted all over Lodi and have to say, these pours are minimal at best. I'm not looking for a half glass of wine, even close to it...but I would have appreciated just another sip or two to fully appreciate the taste sensations. Again, I probably could have asked to revisit any of the wines if I wanted to, but didn't... that would have been even more trips to the bar. If I go back, I'll be a bit more demanding. read more

The four of us recently went on a Saturday. When you walk in, the environment is great! Nice and relaxing chairs and tables to set outside under canopies. Let's just say I left with a BAD taste in my mouth. And it wasn't the wine...... REVIEW WORTH READING!! So the wine is okay. They had 1 or 2 good wines. But everyone's taste buds are different. My review isn't based on the wine but the Tasting Room Manager who I feel represents the business as a whole and their product. Came in with a large group of 9. The 2 girls at the bar were very nice and helpful. They do a 5 taste for $5. One of the girls said that "all 12 tasting were open today for the $5". So we were like SWEET... Might as well try the whites even though I'm not a fan of it. Might be something I like. The guy (Tasting Room Manager) pours the wine on the very LIGHT side, and the girls pour the normal amount compared to most wineries. So we were fluctuating between low and high pours. Haha. Anyways we started our tasting. Wines were good some were watery/no flavor. We were on our 6th tasting. My gf, her 2 friends went in for the next pour of the tasting. One of the girls said "somebody will be right with you". The guy (Tasting Manager), said "oh that's it. You've already had 5 tasting. Unless you want to try another one" (Sarcastically). Gf comes back outside and told us what and how the guy said it. So we said let's leave since their Manager is so rude and obviously not sticking to the open tastings for $5 like the girl said. He's just lucky I wasn't inside when he cut off my gf and her friends. I would have made him look bad in front of all the customers inside. No paying customer should ever be treated that way and talked to that way. That bad vibe killed it for me and I wanted to leave. They have 12 total wines. If it's about the money I'd have no problem paying $12 to try all 12. He didn't even offer. Just cut us out and said that's it. So we all went inside to pay. $45 was due for 9 tastings. Each tasting is waived if you buy a bottle. I was last one to pay. Few people bought bottles. Only 3 tastings were left to pay. Then he tried charging me for 6 tastings. I looked at him and said NO. I only owe for 3 tastings. He didn't believe me. My gf had to explain to him each and every person who bought a bottle or paid for their tasting. His reply "fine whatever you say it is". I was like wow. Calling us a liar after he had just collected all the money from each transaction and my gf told him each and every transaction. Guess he doesn't like being wrong or he needs to rip people off $5 at a time to stay in business. Well anyways I will NEVER go there again neither will anyone from our group. Some of us use to go there. Well they lost customers. And we will make sure to tell all our friends to go to Lodi to not waste their time nor money. Device and respect goes a LONG way. I just feel bad to the 2 younger girls working there having to deal with an asshole like that who doesn't care for his customers and literally pours wine like he's trying to save the bottle to take home. Also he asked if we were going anywhere else and we said we had 1 last stop to a winery we never been to called St. Jorge. His reply, "Good luck with that Winery". Yet again he replied SARCASTICALLY. Guess he doesn't like anyone else but his own winery. Guess what? St. Jorge was the BEST winery I've ever been too. Most helpful staff and EVERY wine was amazing. Not even one I didn't like. Even the light wines were amazing. My father dislikes white wine and he even really liked it. Staff and wine were the best I've ever encountered. So friendly. If you are looking into coming to Bokisch, don't bother and just go straight to St. Jorge if you haven't been. You will not be disappointed. I can put all the wine bottles that our group purchased from there on it. Even signed up to be a member. That's how great the wine is and how friendly the staff is. Bokisch shouldn't even bother being in business if they don't care about their paying customers. Hope everyone who checks their review reads this. You won't be disappointed not going to Bokisch! This review is for their new location on Atkins Rd. We came here during W&C 2106 and I must say I was impressed. It is a new winery so they are still doing some landscaping, but what they have done is nice. The tasting room is nice and the wines are very yummy! I think this is the best tasting Spanish varietals I tasted all weekend! We had such a nice time and will definitely come back and enjoy a bottle or 2! Last visit of a short but focused day of tasting around Lodi. Wonderful Spanish varietals which differentiates and distinguishes them from most others in the area. Very friendly, low key tasting - I think we tried harder to stick with the choice-of-5 tastes than the woman helping us who basically just let us taste anything we wanted that was available. :) One of us ended up joining their club - they extended the discount to all in the group rather than forcing us to handle our own splitting of the loot later. Needed to get away and found this gem of a winery on the outskirts of downtown Lodi. It's nice to get back to such an enjoyable activity after sheltering at home for so long. The vineyard was one of the few in the Lodi area that had online reservations. When we arrived everyone was extremely friendly and thanked us for joining them. They had thought of everything for socially distanced wine tasting including putting a bottle of water with clean cups on our table. This our new normal but the staff (especially Rich) made the experience memorable. Will definitely return! read more
