My friend and I enjoy exploring new wineries in the area, and this one came recommended by a fellow wine taster we met at Bokisch. He mentioned the grounds were nice, the staff was decent, and the wines could be hit or miss, so we decided to give it a try. The property itself is decent, with a mix of indoor standing tables and outdoor seating. There are smaller seating areas under trees and near a small fountain, which could make for a relaxing setting. However, during our visit, the atmosphere felt more crowded and noisy than expected, and the seating; particularly the backless bar stools and old barrel style chairs, wasn't especially comfortable if you plan on hanging out for a while. Service was probably the biggest issue for us. As first-time visitors, there wasn't much effort to make us feel welcome or guide us through the menu. When we asked if they had sparkling wine, we were told yes, but it turned out they were referring to spritzers made with sparkling water. After clarifying, there wasn't much follow-up or attempt to help us find something closer to what we were actually looking for, which felt a bit dismissive. We ended up ordering a bottle of Albariño to drink on the patio. It was okay, but unfortunately not something we'd go back for. It tasted noticeably bitter and lacked the brighter fruit notes typically associated with that varietal, making it less enjoyable than we had hoped for. Between the underwhelming service, the wine not really landing for us, and the overall atmosphere, we chose to leave early and head to another winery.

Harney Lane is always a must go to when in Lodi. I absolutely love the grounds. It's very tranquil and calming to sit and just enjoy your wine. Plenty of seating and even if you're sitting by the water fountain the staff will find you and ask if you need anything. Definitely great customer service.

Us girls needed some time together and one of them recommended Harney Lane. We did the Zinfandel wine tasting and I definitely liked two them. We also had the charcuterie board. Everyone was so sweet to us.

Lovely place to visit for the beautiful grounds, tastings, and staff. We went as a family for the holidays and enjoyed the new Zin room. Beautiful.

This is, after many visits, my definite favorite in the Lodi region. A friend from Spain & I visited on a recent Saturday w/2 dogs in tow. We were treated extremely well while inside tasting & purchasing a bottle of their wonderful Albariño along w/dark chocolate & a cheese plate. Outside, there were lots of people enjoying the grounds & great wines, & it seemed that many had brought their own food to nosh on. We spent a delightful, memorable couple of hours @ Harney Lane, & the 2 wineries we visited afterwards paled in comparison.

One of our favorite wineries in Lodi. We walked in around Saturday 3:30pm and it wasn't too busy for Memorial Day Weekend. If you buy wine bottle, you can sit outside where the club members sit. Or else you just stand at the tasting room counter. The lady who helped pour our wines was so nice. It was a more personable experience. Our lady explained the wines and helped us with finding wineries that we need to try. Now we know we don't like family friendly wineries. It's just too busy and the staff just pours the wines and leave. Tasting fee: classic flight and red flight are both $20. It was nice that our lady let us go off menu for the ones that overlap in the flights. The reds have some tannins, but not terrible. There's both fruity and earthy reds. Some whites were better than others. It's a good variety. There's also no tip button on the checkout iPad so it doesn't create pressure on customers. You only need to buy 1 bottle of wine to waive the fee. Albariño- smell good, decent Chardonnay, Scottsdale- ok Chardonnay, home ranch- bolder, decent Dry rose- crisp dry , bland Primitivo- like zin, but Italian , bland light Zinfandel, Scottsdale- fruity, jammy, some tannins Patriachs promise- earth, some tannins Zinfandel- not bad Old vine Zinfandel- ok Tempranillo- bland , some tannins Cab- earthy, some tannins Petite Sirah- fruity, some tannins

We came here after attending the wine club party at another winery that we are members of. We had to pick up my husband's friend's wines for her. So we decided to do a little wine tasting so we can try out their wines. It is on Harney Lane....how convenient lol It's a very nice winery with lots of places to sit and enjoy the outdoor scenery. Absolutely beautiful estate. It's perfect place to chill with a group setting. They have very good wines. Good enough for us to buy one of their best wines. They also offer cheese plates and charcuterie boards....perfect with your bottle of wine The staff is very friendly and eager to help their patrons. They make you feel welcomed.

I had driven by many times and it seemed like an appointment only place but I guess now they have enough staffing to open up the hours and days of the week. First, their reputation has always been very good. They've had some recognition from some reputable wine sources so I had very high expectations for the wine. In, short, the wines were very good. They had a nice selection from rose to the more Lodi styled red wines. I really did enjoy all the wines and the price point seems fair. I guess I was kinda hoping to meet the winemaker, learn more about their vineyards and purpose for growing certain varietals. When you get wine with a story it makes the experience that much more enjoyable. I really like this place and I'm hoping to make a stronger connection with the business since I consider myself an advocate for Lodi wines since my hobby is to compare our wines with the best out in the other regions of CA. Pretty heavy competition but so far Lodi is more than able to compete with certain types of wines aka Zinfandel, Tempranillo, Syrah and occasionally Cabernet.

Last weekend on a trip to Sacramento, I finally had a chance to stop by their Olive Mill and Winery. In addition to the olive oil tasting set, there were some brunch items such as a crostini and salad as well as a Mediterranean plate with hummus. We opted for the crostini, olive oil tasting and a cappuccino. The jalapeño olive oil was unique and flavorful enough that we bought a couple bottles of it to take home. The pear vinaigrette was thick and tangy. The waitresses were friendly and helpful when we had a couple questions about the dishes. Although the grounds are very nice the entire experience was a let down. The tasting room is very utilitarian and not at all what I expected for a comfortable wine tasting experience. Although there are a multitude of pleasant outdoor spaces to linger and lounge while sipping wine it seems set up and better suited to small groups of 10 or more. There's a restaurant in the main tasting room that was packed crowded. The offerings must be good. The ambiance was similar to a Cracker Barrel. There's lots of merchandise for sale and I was surprised how basic the place felt, nothing special. When we asked at the tasting counter if we could get a glass of the Petite Petit, the wine we were introduced to by friends, the answer was a very gruff and emphatic, NO. The man seemed annoyed we asked. It would have been nice to be offered an alternative. That really turned me off although we ended up buying two bottles anyway. So, Freakshow. Rather strange and peculiar labeling and marketing, but it does catch one's attention. I had to wonder if the inspiration came from the TV series American Horror Story of the same name? The Petite Petit is a deep hearty rich blend of red wine with a lot of depth. It isn't very expensive but the taste is both bold and rich. It was nice walking around the outdoor areas and gardens but there didn't seem to be much energy out there, maybe a weekday and/or too early in the days? I had to wonder if they get folks coming off I-5 since the major highway is so close. Hence the more basic tourist approach. In any case it's an OK place but in short order I was ready to move on to another winery.
