I went to Bolay for their soft opening. The restaurant was very nice looking. They had a lot of staff working who were all very attentive. To order you start with a base, then pick veggies to go on it, then you pick your protein, followed by topping, and lastly the sauce. They even offered samples of the proteins if you were unsure. I ordered my bowl with black rice, broccoli, cajun sweet potato, and pork. The cajun sweet potato was really good, I was expecting it to be a little spicy but it was more sweet. My whole bowl was good. I brought my wife who also enjoyed the bowl she ordered. They also had cookies. Either chocolate chip or snicker-doodle. They were gluten free. The chocolate chip had a faint taste of banana to it. My favorite of the 2 was the chocolate chip, but they were both good. Bolay serves craft sofas which is nice. I like getting to try something that isn't the generic soda everyplace has. They also had samples of their fresh pressed juices that tasted good. I had a lot of those samples and I do not remember the names of them all. The one with strawberries was great. read more

I heard about this place from a friend so I decided to stop in. I didn't know what to expect but it was so modern and clean inside! The menu's where super large and simple so I knew what I was getting immediately. I got the vegan bowl from the chef picks menu. It was outstanding! Amazing ingredients and super fresh and delicious! Sweet potatoes, tofu, brussel sprouts, etc where cooked amazing with lots of flavor! The ordering process was quick and easy, and everyone was super nice. I think I died and went to heaven. Okay? More like Bolay!!! .... sorry... The Thai bowl is extremely tasty and has a multitude of flavors that blend together so well. This place reminds me of fresh kitchen with the same concept but way better!!! Also tried the Baja bowl and it is super tasty too but the Thai is better. The Baja bowl features the avocado. I'm so happy there is a healthy alternative in the Lake Nona area. The service is also very friendly and I love the color scheme. For drinks I recommend their natural lemon ginger juice. We stopped in for some gluten-free food which is difficult to find. The food was very tasty and there are nice flexible options. The two stars are for the taste and gluten-free. Unfortunately, we found out that the oil blend they use is 90% canola. Canola is not only very unhealthy, it also has the very undesired effect for some people of a fast-acting laxative. We withheld stars because they only have ONE bathroom and ONE toilet for the entire place. It's more than twice the size of a Starbucks and Starbucks has at least two bathrooms/toilets. Had to wait for a young man who worked there to finally come out of the bathroom. I can only guess what he might have been doing for so very long but he didn't flush and I didn't hear the Dyson hand dryer or water running in the sink, nor were his hands wet, so it didn't appear he washed his hands. The manager came in and set his gear down on a table and went to the ONE bathroom. He left the seat in the upright position. This is another reason why one bathroom for both sexes is not cool. MEN, LADIES DO NOT WANT TO HAVE TO TOUCH THE SEAT JUST BECAUSE YOU WERE TOO LAZY TO RETURN IT TO THE SITTING POSITION. If all men were gentlemen and put the seat down it wouldn't be as much an issue. This was THE MANAGER so don't know how well trained are the employees handling food, etc. Couldn't give more than 2 stars, all things considered. read more

I got the large bowl and proceeded to add the amazing cilantro noodle and the Moroccan rice, plus the pork and the ahi tuna. I then added the cauliflower, mushrooms, tomatoes and a side of the Thai sauce. Bite after bite, this meal delivered! It was so good that right about now I am jonesin' for more! My husband and I jokingly called this 'Chibolay' because it reminded us of a non-Mexican bowl place like Chipotle. It's a chain started by one of the founders of Outback. I think it's a south Florida chain. They tout a menu of nutritious, gluten free food. Very pretty industrial style interior and lots of friendly staff at this new to Orlando location. I liked the food ok overall but lots of competing flavors in my Thai bowl. Individually, good, but too many tastes for me in one bowl. Please know I am not a picky eater and a total foodie. Popular and unique food trend bases they offered include kale salad, jasmine rice, cilantro noodles and black rice. You can customize your bowl any way you like but steak and shrimp were an upcharge. My pork was good and chicken was chewy. Hubby said steak was chewy. Quality was a notch under Chipotle. They offered a Canadian soda, Stubborn, made with cane sugar. My son said the soda had too much carbonation, which is probably adjustable on their machine. I thought the diet version tasted like the old Diet Rite. I didn't care for it. They had four flavors of iced tea, two unsweetened. The teas were freshly brewed and good. I was happy to see Stevia as a sweetener to go with their nutritious food theme. Plus they had various sparkling waters and juices. Didn't see alcohol, which was fine as we rarely drink. Lots of flavors in most all bowl elements makes for competing tastes. Right when I thought that healthy bowl options couldn't get any better than Fresh Kitchen, I was introduced to Bolay! (Sorry, FK, I still love you!) I absolutely love how vibrant the flavors are in the food. I've come twice and everything was cooked perfectly. My favorite food combo to get is black rice with broccoli, brussel sprouts, and tofu. The black rice is a unique offering and I love that they offer it here. Both times that I've come, the employees have been friendly and have gotten my food to me efficiently. They also give you a very fair amount of food and aren't afraid to load up your bowl with tofu. It's not cheap, per se, but it's good value. I will definitely be back! read more

My go to place to have healthier food. There's two type of bowls, a small and large. The large allows you to have slightly more options in your bowl than the small, but if you're not starving, the small is definitely big enough. The forbidden rice is really good here, so I always get that as my base. The Teriyaki Chicken is really flavorful and not dry at all. If you're into brussel sprouts, you'll really like it here. Everything is a great combonation with each other. Tip: Get the sauces on the side, because most of the time, the bowl alone is already flavorful enough. read more

I worked out really hard today at Crunch Fitness and needed a good post-workout meal. Someone at the gym recommended this place, so I went to check it out. This place is definitely a good, healthy option. I got a small bowl which includes 1 base, 1 protein, 2 veggies and a sauce or extra. I chose the jasmine rice, which was definitely a good safe option. They had many different bases with a variety of cold and warm bases including: sweet potato noodles, forbidden rice, cilantro noodles, mixed greens etc. I chose the broccoli and roasted sweet potatoes. They make everything fresh, but I did have to wait for my sweet potatoes. There could've been more protein options. I got the lemon chicken which was decent, but the portion sizes are small. I don't feel like I should have to buy a large bowl in order to get a good amount of protein. Overall, I really did enjoy my bowl and I'm leaving full. I like the inspirational quotes on the wall. Positivity I key to a good mental health. The colors on the inside are also relaxing and soothing. If I'm ever in this area again, I'll definitely visit again. For fresh, healthy, fast food, this place gets my highest approval. We always have ordered online so the food is ready when we get there, with a special line for pickups of pre-orders. That is fast! We've gotten food there three times now, and I'm sorry to say that my order has not varied once. The large bowl comes with your choice of two bases and I have tried only the fabulous cilantro noodles and orange basil quinoa. I can't believe some folks order kale - yuck - instead of my two delights. There are other choices for bases, but I'm sticking with the quinoa and the cilantro noodles, thank you. There are also about a half dozen choices for your veggies, of which you choose two. So far, I've gone with a double order of their Brussels sprouts each time: crunchy, toothsome, earthy. Just right! The Ginger Broc looks good as do the other choices. But Brussels Sprouts I don't have to cook myself? Oh yeah. Now for your proteins you have a choice of at least a half dozen. They are all tempting, but I had the Lemon Chicken the first time and have stuck with it ever since. It tastes very fresh with the lemon, and it's so tender that I suspect they cook it sous vide. Really nice. But I do intend to try the spicy Thai shrimp and the ahi tuna sometime soon. Probably. I have had the chance to try all three of their sauces or salad dressings, if you will, and they are excellent. The bowl ingredients are so good on their own you could probably skip the sauces if you wanted to, but I love them, so I don't. They are each different, spicy, and rich tasting, although the ingredients are not heavy. We each get a large bowl and my SO eats all of his in one sitting, and I have mine for supper one night and have enough left over for lunch the next day. This is a great place. Not too keen on an add'l $2 dollars for shrimp especially when they weren't even available and I had to wait a bit. I guess the good is that the shrimp was fresh. Total for a large bowl double shrimp was $16. Mmmmm I can go get a whole fresh rotisserie chicken and sides or a whole bag of shrimp for that price.
