Alot of people have hyped this spot up, so maybe my expectations were too high, but I overall wasn't impressed by my visit to this bold bean location. On the bright side- the price point was excellent & I enjoyed the small patio outside. Also the matcha was very concentrated & authenticity prepared. Conversely, I would not recommend the chai tea. It was too sweet and simultaneously not very spiced. The other issue I had was that my almond croissant wasn't warmed up at first- so I had to go up a second time & ask for it to be heated. After it was warmed up it was good tho- I loved the aldehyde flavor notes in the filling. Overall? My visit was fine, but nothing special. read more

Good afternoon Peeps! This is Taco Man Wedo W/ Food Discoveries and more. I'm so behind and playing catchup on my reviews. However, I had to do a review on this particular location in Jax Beach area. I recently went to Jacksonville and found an abundant of Mom and pops as well as small chains to check out. Not only am I into Tacos, I like quite a few other things as well, including coffee. My wife tells me I'm a coffee snob. I laugh and say, no, I just have high standards. . Anyway, I recently got into Cold Brews, especially organic sourced from one location. When I went to Jacksonville and looked up best coffee houses for what I was looking for, Bold Bean showed up on my list. Therefore, I had to try it. Unfortunately, something happened to some of my pictures. At least, I have this picture of my wife and that's what counts. Food/Drink: I ordered an Organic Cold Brew and believe or not, it was very reasonably priced, I want to say $3.50. This was my 4th time ordering cold brew and it was the best one I ever had so far at this point. Smooth and you can taste the earthy notes. No fruity taste and that's what I liked about it too. It was a solid A for me. 5 stars Service: The staff greeted all patrons with smiles and ready to serve you. Everything was being run smoothly here. One of the employees had a rocker shirt and we had something in common. He found out I was from California and I researched this place and it was one of the places in had to try. Therefore, he comped me the cold brew even though I insisted on paying. Ambience: Place is very clean, and aesthetically has a warm welcome feeling to it with nice background music so you can have no problem chatting, working on your lap top, playing games on your phone or chilling. Whoever the owner is of bold bean at Jax beach needs to take a hard look at their employees. Today, Sunday, at 9 am, it actually took 25 minutes for just a cup of coffee. The male barista with long hair and a baseball cap put every customer in front of me and I even tipped on this order. I had to approach to ask where the coffee was and he said he was just starting to work on it. Then he gives me old coffee, not even filled all the way up in the cup that tastes stale and bitter and I ask if there's any more and he says it will take a few minutes to brew if I care to wait that he poured out the old coffee and that was the last of it. At least 15 people were put in front of me that placed orders after I did and were given the coffee I had to wait for. This is not the customer service I have come to expect from Bold Bean. I am a new customer and writing this and reaching out to the owner so you know who you have as an employee. read more

I come to this area every few months, and every time I do, I have to make multiple trips to this spot. The coffee here is just incredible. It's got that cool, hipster vibe, and the quality of the drinks is top-notch. They offer a variety of house-made syrups--my favorite is the smoked honey miso. So unique and delicious! The staff are always super friendly and incredibly knowledgeable about the different coffee blends and teas they serve. It's also a perfect place to get some work done or just hang out and relax. Favorite coffee stop whenever I am in Jax. Both locations serve up delicious options crafted to perfection but there is something extra special about the service at the beach blvd location and people behind the bar. Zac's description of the house made datil pepper honey syrup was spot on and it made a tasty latte. I'm not sure who did the latte art but as you can see in the pictures, it was beautiful to the last drop! Well Done!!! read more

The facility, service, and personnel are top notch. Everyone is friendly and helpful with your order and they make you feel welcomed. Your order comes fast even when it is busy. Everything from the counter to the seating area is extremely clean and well maintained. The only drawback that I have is with the drinks. They make all of their syrups homemade and you would think that would make them stand out and be unique, but to me they are lackluster and extremely mild tasting. Maybe I am trying the wrong drinks because the place always seems to draw a crowd or maybe I expect bolder tasting drinks. Will I stop by and try something else? I choose Bold Beam every time I need a speciality coffee, rather than go eat (yes that's not a typo) coffee at Starbucks. The crew there is very friendly and they do a great job of making you a hot or a cold one. They also have some very special tea items as well. The only big gripe I have is that the store is not bigger than what it is. Ordered coffee here with a friend. TWO ICED coffees took 20MINS..... No one was a head of us I watched the guy measure and drink some of the expresso shots while making our coffee?!?!? No not out of our cups but WHY ARE YOU DRINKING THE COFFEE while making our drinks?? Unprofessional. Kind of unsanitary. I even asked what's the hold up and he said he had to measure everything.. Either it was a new barista.. Or the service is really that slow.
