Needed a place to chill for a couple of hours before heading back to Jacksonville airport for my flight, and this place fit the bill! GREAT AMBIANCE. GREAT MUSIC. (Classic hip hop and neo soul) GREAT SELECTIONS of espressos, by skilled baristas. GREAT SERVERS. There was plenty of good seating, and lots of outlets to plug in your devices. Relaxed and comfortable coffee shop with good coffee. Very friendly employees. My only complaint is they don't have caramel syrup which feels odd for a coffee shop. I would've loved a caramel latte but instead I got some kind of butter latte? It was good but not similar to caramel like the barista suggested. The coffee shop is located inside the Atlantic Theater which is now a church, so they share the building. The place is really cozy, and you feel the presence of the church inside as they have a peace and prayer room, a donation corner, and a restroom with some clothing you can take but you are encouraged to leave a few items too. They have pastries which came from another coffee shop, but we are here for the coffee. My husband ordered his usual hot latte and I got their Cold Brew with foam. Both were really good and the owner makes great latte art! They also offer free movie nights every Thursday! We thoroughly enjoyed our visit here and looking forward to coming back! read more

A real gem just off the beaten beaches path and well worth the short detour. Great vibe and set up, plenty of group and individual seating between tables/chairs, lounge, and bar. Staff was helpful and informative of the options. I couldn't decide (so I didn't!) between the canela hot latte (dine in) and a summer in rio (to go.) Both were made with house-made syrups and were delicious in their own right. Highly recommend trying the Summer In Rio before it leaves in a month (seasonal flavor.) Be sure to arrive earlier in the day if you'd like to try any of the pastries (also made locally by another small business.) Zap Cat is a very welcome addition to the Jax coffee scene! read more

Cute spot, located in the Atlantic Theaters, between there and the Fish Co. I don't normally drink coffee, but I was meeting for a work training. I tried the Leggo My Latte from the Spring Menu. He said it tasted like a blueberry waffle, which is my favorite, so SOLD! (I want to try the fruity pebbles one next time!) I'm a child like that. Hahaha They get pastries brought in (I apologize, I forget the name of the place and my pic came out blurry, so I didn't catch it - epic fail on my part) I got the cheese and spinach kolache. That was "stretch cheese" yummy on the inside and the cooked cheese on top - yesssssss. They have wifi, so there were a few patrons on their computers, probably working or studying. I think that's pretty cool. I didn't get a pic of the inside space. I didn't want to freak anyone out thinking I was picturing them. Hahaha. I was sitting at the bar counter. They also have outdoor seating that I moved out to later. In the shade with a breeze is nice. All in all, I think it's a nice place to check out. Grab a cup to wake you up! Had a little trouble finding this coffee shop, I was afraid I would be crashing bible study. Thankfully the coffee shop was on the building, and I wasn't struck by lightning. The barista was super friendly. I ordered a Saturday morning cartoons for my partner and boujee bae for myself. Hidden gem! Found Zap Cat while I was searching for local (aka not mass produced and found in supermarkets ) espresso beans for a Christmas gift. Originally I planned to purchase them from Southern Grounds - but they were out & did not know when they would be getting more product (they had a very nonchalant customer service vibe). Used to be the Atlantic theater. I used to go there when I was younger to see movies now it's a cute little coffee shop and church . Everyone that works there is very friendly. It's a nice place to go in the morning. Have coffee which is very good served in cute cups and use the prayer room. You can go in and have some time alone a very peaceful feeling.
