For 6 years my husband and I didn't see our friend who lives in Washington D.C. Fortunately, he was here and we went to have a dinner. He loves Indian food, when he saw this place he liked in the first sign. The food is really tasty, they don't ask how spicy could be, okay? The service is very nice and friendly. And ambiance is bold, colorful. You can see many artists had enjoyed the food. Many pictures on the wall. The price is good for the neighborhood. Just to park you need a little time.

Dined in for lunch on 3/13/25 with friends/coworkers. We always enjoy eating here. There's only 1 person who takes care of the customers and he is efficient. He always has a smile and very helpful. During lunchtime, it has always been the same waiter and he's friendly and provides great service. We always order lunch special which is a great value. They also offer great options from chicken, seafood and vegetarian options as well. I love the shrimp masala. This time I tried the chicken masala and it was delicious! I also love the naan bread! If naan was the only thing they had, I would be happy to eat just the naan, that's how delicious their naan is. I always get the garlic naan. The ambiance is relaxing, this time, the restaurant was full so it was loud. The restaurant is clean. They are located across the street from Whole Foods near UCLA. I would like yo try their ayce on Saturday one day. If you like Indian food, this place is worth the try. Parking on the street.

I haven't been to India, so I can't speak as to whether Bollywood Bites is authentic or not. I can only speak to whether the food aligned with my taste buds or not. And it did. Stopped in for dinner with a friend last week. I have to admit, on the way, I'm sending text messages asking about parking. Told that there was a lot of street parking, I was still anxious. But when I got there, there was quite a available spots. I don't know what the enforced hours are - but I'd rather pay the few bucks and avoid the fine. There's a Whole Foods across the street that looks like it has a parking garage. I don't know if that's paid or timed - gonna have to see for yourself. Walked in. Pretty empty. My friend at one table and another party - just finishing up. Not a large place but would easily accommodate a small party - not sure how it would work for a large group though. Probably would have to call well ahead and make reservations. If that's even possible. Service was fine. Again, not quite attentive but there when needed. Friendly. explained the menu and dishes. Refills, etc. Then the food - which I enjoyed. I thought it would be spicy as in hot. And though it wasn't, the flavors made up for it. The meats were tender and juicy. The greens were crisp. The sauces and dips were more than enough for the dish. And I loved the Garlic Naan. I kept eating the bread even after I was full. I don't make it out to Westwood often so coming back for me is in the undecided column. I don't eat Indian food often but I know about this place as an option should I ever have a craving.

    Chole Bhatura and Chicken 65

Literally the best Indian food in LA. When you ask for spicy, it's real Indian spicy food! The samosa, lamb biriyani, chole bhatura, chicken 65, and dal makhni are so good, oh my god! Took me back home!

    Chicken Vindaloo Garlic Naan

My husband loved going here when he worked for UCLA several years back. I had to go to LA for my passport and decided to come here for lunch. I ordered the fish pakodas, chicken vindaloo and garlic naan. The fish was very soft and fried very well. It was delicious in taste, alongside mint and tamarind chutney. The chicken vindaloo was flavorful. The potatoes were soft and the masala was mixed in very well. The garlic naan was soft and crispy. The vibe of the place is great as-is the food. Looking forward to coming back again and again.

The receipt : Price not worth the food served

Food = (-10) Service = (3) Ambiance = (3) slow and empty for the night before Thanksgiving 2024 About 1/10-1/20 through the meal, it was noticeable this WAS NOT Salmon. Catfish was served...... Ask the waiter what white fish was presented to me. Waiter's response,"a white fish..." My response, 'what white fish?' Waiters response, "a white fish..." My response, 'what white fish is this, because this definitely is not Salmon.' Waiter's response, "it's Catfish, we do not serve Salmon here anymore." My response, 'this is not Catfish, and why did you not disclose to me the restaurant has discontinued serving Salmon?' To the owner, please just take it off the menu or disclose what is accurate and true on the menu. The waiter asked what to do, I said nothing and it was just downhill from there. I finished my meal, paid in full, no tip, left and will never patronize again.

    Saag Paneer

When my local Indian restaurant no longer became an option, we decided to try Bollywood Bites. To be honest, we probably would have tried this place earlier if not for the corny name. I placed an order online through their website. Oddly enough, there is no way to pay for your order online. You can either pay cash/card at pick up or have someone call you back for a credit card number. They have lunch bowl specials that are listed online as being $8.50, but when you pick up, you get charge more - I think $9.50 for vegetarian bowls and $10.50 for ones with meat. They have several different entrees available for the bowls, which are served on top of rice. We've only had the saag paneer and chicken saag, which are both good. I like that the meat on the chicken saag is always tender. I would not recommend the veggie naan wrap, which was completely underwhelming - mostly peas and carrots, with some cauliflower, and lettuce, wrapped in naan. I've been used to the frankies from Bombay Frankie, and this was pretty flavorless in comparison. Be sure to check out the wall of pics with the chef with various celebrities like Michael Jackson, Al Gore and Wolfgang Puck. Metered street parking out front and free two-hour parking in the Broxton parking lot before 5pm.

This is one of my go-to favorites in this area. I love the food and they are super quick with pickup and often have usually have tables available for eating in!

It was my first time here, and I'm so glad I discovered this place! The seafood was incredibly fresh, and we honestly enjoyed every dish we ordered. The highlight for me was definitely the oysters -- they were so good that I had to order a second round . Another standout was the steamed mussels in white wine and garlic sauce. The mussels were huge, juicy, and packed with flavor. I was also very impressed by the miso black cod. It came with mushrooms in a rich miso sauce that paired perfectly with rice. Everything tasted comforting and well-balanced. Our server was also very thoughtful and friendly. He split the clam chowder into four smaller portions for our group, which made it much easier to share. One thing to note: the seafood market opens early, but the restaurant itself opens at 11 AM. And if you end up loving the fish from your meal, you can actually buy the same fresh marinated fish directly from the market to take home. Such a cool concept!

After this first experience, this place is about a solid three stars for me. I may come back again if in Santa Monica... I am still a bit under the weather and drove here because I wanted some kind of seafood soup. They offer three different kinds of soups which I appreciated! There is NE clam chowder, Manhattan clam chowder and a fish chowder. Since I dont always see fish chowder on the menu, I ordered a small bowl. I wanted a larger bowl and a place to sit down and eat it but the place was packed for lunch and I didnt feel like grabbing a spot at their bar as I needed to get back on the road, so just went with the small (and I am glad I did - read on to see why). They have a funny system here because you only order their menu items from a cashier in the back, but then take a number if you want fresh seafood. I wanted to try their Hawaiian style poke and cashier had me go and grab a number. I grabbed a number and it wasn't busy so I was served immediately. For a 1/4 lb of Hawaiian poke, it was about $9.50. Whats also strange is that I grabbed my soup (did not pay for it in the back), and my Hawaiian poke and then paid up front. Everything came close to $20. I sat in my car, (which thank goodness, this seafood market has its own parking lot, so that was greatly appreciated), and dug into my soup. Unfortunately, the soup was pretty bland and needed a bit more salt. But, I will say that the ingredients used in the fish chowder were all very fresh, and fish wasnt overcooked, but it needed to be seasoned more. Hawaiian poke was great, excellent taste. Overall, a so so experience, I would have liked better scenery to eat my food being I was very close to the beach and wished I had a more seasoned fish chowder. I could be convinced to come back and give it a second try, but I think I might prefer to visit Malibu Seafood which isnt too far from here and has great ocean views.

I don't think they take reservations. You can dine there or do take away. If you can eat there it is fun. The place is super cute with lots of tables and it is clean. The service is very good and the servers seem happy. All of their food is great. We love their calamari and get it every time we go. All the seafood is super. Now, this looks like a mid range place, but if has fine dinning prices, but it is worth it because it is all so great and much of it fresh. We love their seafood platter which is snow crab claws, fresh oysters on the half shell, tail on shrimp, Peruvian scallops, green-lipped mussels, mini Mexican shrimp, mignonette, garlic aioli, classic cocktail sauce & lemons. Grilled oysters are hard to find and boy do they make them well. They are 1/2 dozen oysters grilled with garlic butter & parmesan. They even have great fish tacos. We love the grilled Mahi Mahi which is a taco with cabbage, pico de gallo, chipotle lime aioli It comes with white rice & black beans. Everything there is great. Have the best time.

Saltie Girl delivers a stunning masterclass in coastal dining, seamlessly bridging East Coast charm with sleek Los Angeles glamour. Nestled right on the lively Sunset Strip, the location is unbeatable for high-end people-watching, especially if you snag a spot on the heated, sun-drenched patio. Inside, the space feels like an upscale maritime sanctuary with plush seafoam green banquettes, inlaid brass, and a buzzing, wrap-around counter that keeps you close to the kitchen's action. The waitstaff here are consummate professionals--highly engaging, deeply knowledgeable about the extensive menu, and impeccably timed with the multi-course progression. Even the presentation is beautifully curated; every single dish arrives on uniquely cute, custom-patterned plates that make the meal feel like an artistic experience before you even take a bite. As for the food, it is an absolute tour de force. We kicked things off with their legendary tinned seafood selection, opting for a tin of premium sardines. Served elegantly on a board with artisan bread, curated salts, and house-made butter, it completely redefines how complex and luxurious tinned fish can be. Next came the lobster deviled eggs ("lobster devota"), which were incredibly rich, beautifully piped, and decadent. For the main events, the crispy fried fish sandwich is easily one of the absolute best in the city--shattered-crisp, perfectly golden, and beautifully balanced with sharp tartar sauce on a plush potato bun. But the showstopper might just be the warm buttered lobster roll. It is piled impossibly high with sweet, tender, uniform chunks of pristine meat drenched in rich butter and served on a perfectly toasted bun. Make sure to save room for dessert, because the sweet endings are just as spectacular. The SweetBoy chocolate chip cookie arrives warmed to order, boasting a perfect balance of rich Valrhona chocolate and a generous sprinkle of crunchy Maldon sea salt. If you want something truly unforgettable, the pistachio tiramisu is a work of art--luxurious pistachio cream layered with gluten-free ladyfingers and a brilliant toffee crunch that offers the perfect textural contrast. Saltie Girl is a premium, splurge-worthy experience, but between the stunning plates, phenomenal service, and stellar execution, it is worth every single dollar. Late review we can't wait to return
