The best Indian restaurant in West LA. The food quality is top notch, it's delicious and the service is friendly. We ordered the chicken tikka masala medium spice and it was spicy in a good way. We also ordered the half chicken tandoori which was very moist and flavorful. Lastly, the prawn biryani was exceptional. They give you 4 jumbo prawns and the rice was aromatic and flavorful. The restaurant has a modern feel, clean and comfortable. The restaurant is a bit hard to find. They are located on the 2nd floor but they are worth taking the trip for. The restaurant offer parking validations during the weekdays and free parking on weekends. If you have a hankering for some excellent Indian food, Indian's oven is the place to go. I think this tops my list of Indian food so far. I ordered delivery of the non-vegetarian Thali. It's a lot of food and it's good. I was concerned because it was a little more than I'm used to spending on a Thali elsewhere, but I have to say - they make up for it with generous portions. The samosas are spicier than I can handle, but the chicken makhani and saag paneer were mild as requested, and still flavorful and rich. I prefer plain rice, but it came with vegetable biryani which was yummy. Naan was good too. I have absolutely no complaints here. Worth a try! read more

I am so happy I live within walking distance of here. Whenever we don't have an easy lunch on hand (ie we've run out of leftovers) we opt for the lunch special. My favorite is the saag and I love that you get rice AND naan amongst the other items in the box. after only ordering delivery from this place for years, finally decided to actually dine IRL at the actual the restaurant. turns out it's tucked inside this building i always assumed was just offices... it's not. (obvi lol.) parking was a breeze and best news is... they validate! we love being validated. i know it's not the most traditional pick, but i looOoOoove cheese naan. both the plain and garlic were packed with flavor. chicken tikka was rich & cozy, as was the shrimp. not the samosas (not pictured) rocked our world. we had lots of leftovers & of course, it only got better with time. how? lol the waiters are so nice and the service was prompt. over a great, welcoming vibe! will def return next time i'm craving indian food. read more

The tray arrived -- a modest metal affair, gleaming with purpose -- and I tell you, it filled me with the same kind of quiet joy as finding a letter from an old friend in the mailbox. Everything you needed was right there in one neat parcel: creamy Shahi Paneer (sweet as a whisper, rich as a preacher), two hearty vegetables stewed with care, perfect white rice, a generous slab of garlic naan, and a cucumber salad that cooled the tongue like a gentle breeze through a Tennessee porch. Now I asked for spicy -- and it was, sure enough -- but it could've stood to kick a bit harder. I ain't complaining, mind you. It had enough heat to let me know it was awake, and that'll suit most folks fine. If you're faint of tongue, they'll surely temper it for you like a blacksmith with a baby's rattle. The portion? Their lunch buffet is one of the best I've ever come across! They have a wide variety of vegetarian and non-vegetarian options (on both the regular menu and at the buffet). Plenty of parking in the adjacent parking lot (we went on Sunday and parking was free!). The staff were so friendly and welcoming, and the service was fantastic. The atmosphere was very nice...lots of seating, perfect for a large group but still easy to talk and be heard without yelling. This is an authentic Indian restaurant in Brentwood, located on the second floor, so you get somewhat of a view if you sit by the window. Their papadum was delicious, and their onion bhaji was even better. Amazingly seasoned, crunchy batter on the outside and soft on the inside. They're served with tamarind sauce. I recommend the garlic naan and chicken tikka masala: white tender pieces of chicken in a creamy tomato sauce. Only downside is you have to order a side of rice - it seems no dish comes with a side of rice anymore. The atmosphere was great, they played Indiana music to set the vibes. First time here at Sham's India's Oven. My friend works in this medical building and recommended having dinner here. The restaurant validates parking if you park in the building. Entrance to the parking is from Barry, just north of Wilshire. It is a bit tricky to find. We shared the Onion Bhaji as an appetizer as well as Spinach Naan. We enjoyed these! We all enjoyed our food, Chicken Korma, Chicken Tikka Masala and a vegetarian dinner set! The staff tonight did not wear a uniform, so I wasn't sure who was staff or a guest ( thus the 4 stars) . Delicious Masalas (we had chicken and paneer), lamb vindaloo, and chicken biryani. All of them were packed with earthy flavors that does wonders to your taste buds. The only thing I'd probably want more flavor is the Garlic Naan. It could use a little more kick to it. The Aloo Naan was delicious though! Ladies and gentleman, my I present to you the worst Indian restaurant in westside as these Yelp reviews were a totally unreliable predictor of what actually came to the table. The naan? A sad, defrosted frisbee impersonating actual bread. The paneer? Store-bought chewy chunks dunked in tepid, passata-like bong water masquerading as a meal. The fish? Over-charred chunks furiously slapped with neon turmeric like a NYPD crime scene cover-up. The vibe? Dreary views of Wilshire's burgeoning real-time crack deliveries at the 7-Eleven across the way. The half-arsed experience with their ruinous sides and chutneys was so, So, SO abysmal that we slipped out midway through this whitewashed charade of "Indian" cuisine. Eating the food was neither not meditative or compelling. It's just disappointing. The staff isn't the problem. There are real, Indian folks running lazily between the kitchen and tables. But they had zero-wattage passion for presentation or cooking skills. Just how they managed to mess up the basics of curry that any 82-year-old Punjabi Aunty could serve up on the fly was beyond the understanding our entire party. A second-class railway carriage in Old Delhi would serve better food than this place. This is the sort of failure that makes us now doubt any Indian place over the hill. #NeverAgain read more

It's both elegant and down to earth like you are a house guest to an Indian family that have so much care and taste. I first came to this place almost 18-19 years ago with an Indian acquaintance at the time and was amazed by this place! I didn't drive at the time so I didn't know how to find this place for many years but also remember how nice and delicious the experience was. Shams India Oven was extremely hard to find we walked around for 7 minutes trying to find. It's inside the building on the second story. The inside was gorgeous there plenty of seating and you have a small view that comes with it. The service was good and they made you feel welcomed. The lamb curry was really good. Had tons of flavor and great texture. The lamb was really good and it had a decent amount of it in there. It really well in top of the rice. And had great consistency.
