I definitely broke the bank buying just the bowl and every sauce (as well as two drinks) but man it was quite delicious! The steak is no joke, which explains the price. It was so divine, and the fried rice upgrade was a must! I was craving something late night and I saw that there was some activity going on outside of this restaurant so I took a note and then I pulled over to Yelp what was good and open this late at night and I had ironically bookmarked this as a place I wanted to try. Habchihana Grill frist started in a food truck, and now there are four more location with one opening soon. You order at the window and wait till your numder is called, there is also a covered patio that has tables and stools that are boited to the ground. We ordered two chicken bowls plus garlic noodles, everything tasted very good and was season well, they six sauce you can purchase, we got three sauce, yum yum, ginger, and the garlic butter belive me when I say all three were finger licking good. Really good, quick and easy hibachi food to go! HOWEVER - as someone who's been coming here since they opened, it's been rough seeing how steep the prices have gone up in the time being. I understand that people are still willing it pay for the food (because it's good) but $20 for a meal after everything gets tiring after a point, especially for loyal customers. For some people, that's fine. Others might not have that, though, or can't be as frequent. They also have started charging $0.50 for soy sauce or any type of sauce on the side. Ambiance is in the middle of smack downtown LOS ANGELES. Right next to Bossa Nova, Chipotle, an abandoned theatre, and a lot of student living for FIDM and USC - you truly are sitting in the middle of a little bit of chaos. There is a parking lot adjacent, however you need to pay. Street parking is free subject to day. No bathroom, and no bathroom at Chipotle either. A good go-to and a spot I regularly come back to. I got the New York steak bowl with steamed rice and veggies, it was excellent. Very generous portion of rice and the veggies were crisp fresh. The only downside was it took nearly 30 minutes to get our order since they had just had a rush of customers so they had to cook more veggies and that took a while. read more

This is the one, notable negative, It is a downside of this place and a reminder if possible, when we get closer to the city to place our order ahead of time. Oof, yes I said it. Order ahead! Last night being the carnivore wolves we were, we scarfed it all down. I did notice our steak was a little more cooked than I enjoy it. however, that didn't slow me down to say anything. Vibe is everything here, when they put on the throwback jams and you can BYOB responsibly, we always come back. Also for those who might wonder, It is first day worthy?? My first time coming was around 2am on a Saturday night and it was super crowded, but definitely worth the wait. The noodles & fried rice are so delicious. I've also tried their chicken, salmon, and steak (medium), and it was great. The workers are nice and I appreciate that. The setup outside is really cute. Such a vibe, you gotta have a bite here! I came to this place because I was in the neighborhood, having gone to a concert across the street. The food was pretty good, with a lot of flavor. The customer service was great. The seating is outdoors in a patio area. The two things I can say about this place that I did not like were that they had no restroom and all their drink options were sugary, mainly overpriced Arizona drinks and teas. Chicken was cooked perfectly, steak was chewy and I only found three shrimps in my rice. My total was close to 60 dollars for just that one entree. I feel like it was way overpriced. I don't think I will try anything else from this spot. The prices are steep and the food does not match my financial out put. This is literally one if my favorite places to eat downtown. If you like hibachi but don't care about all the flares of sitting down at a restaurant to eat it then this place is a must try!! My favorite/ go to is the steak and chicken combination plate. I prefer the fried rice with noodles which is $6 more but in my opinion work it. This is also a ton of food for person so feel free to split the plate with a friend. Personally could have probably got a bowl but they don't do steak combo bowls so I had to do the plate. We tried the Habachihana Grill on Hill St by 11th in downtown LA. It was a shack on a private parking lot, and tables were available for dine in customers. We ordered a filet mignon and shrimp combo plate with butter garlic and ginger sauce. Overall flavor wasn't bad, but we did ask the steak to be cooked medium. Only 4 pieces out of the whole meal were medium center, the rest was well done if not more. The plate came with a lot of rice. While we did not complain being hungry afterwards, the protein to carb ration was unbalanced. There was a 3% charge on the credit card usage, but we were not informed at the time of paying for the meal. Only found out frome the receipt. The price was $35 for the plate and with majority of the steak being overcooked, the chance of us returning is slim. Until next time! read more
