My friend got Indian food a few weeks ago so I felt inspired to get some too (or Pakistani food, not sure). Regardless, I've been here a few times and have always enjoyed it. I love how big the naan is that they give you. They make it fresh too. Even though I've tried a bunch of their skewers, this time I tried the fish karahi, which came with my choice of naan or rice. I chose naan. It was really good but it was a little too spicy for me. The cashier told me they could add yogurt the next time around. However, what really stood out is how the fish was cooked. I feel in American restaurants, fish is just cooked in a way that makes it just taste ok. However, at like Chinese restaurants, they really know how to make the fish taste amazing and have it be so plump and juicy. They make their fish like that here! The juicy and plump way where you're just like, "Wow I just want to keep eating this!" I also got a chicken roll too which is fried and crispy. Good appetizer. They also have water for free here too but I didn't see the dispenser so I just brought something from my car in. The ambiance is cozy here. Nice seating area. I kept hearing about this place and finally gave it a shot. The service was very friendly. The place is pretty sparse and pretty much what you'd expect from a small Ktown strip mall spot. We got the Lamb Dam Biriyani and the mixed grill (which came with 5 different kinda of meat). The seasoning and spices were on point. Great flavors, the right amount of heat, and something you can't really get elsewhere. My main issue was the quality of meat. Since this is supposed to be an affordable lunch spot, the meat was lower quality and really hindered the dishes. Too much fat, too much skin, too much gristle. I would love to see these spices on higher quality meat, that to me would be a 5/5. read more

In an unassuming strip mall in Koreatown lies Biryani Kabob House. As busy as it was when we came in this hole in the wall, my boyfriend and I had great expectations and obviously, we were not disappointed. Ambiance wise, it's your typical restaurant serving fresh, hearty and delicious home style cooking of Pakistani food. There was a mini TV showcasing Pakistani shows and videos which I'm sure felt comforting to everyone eating inside the restaurant. The inside had limited seating so prepare to wait. Luckily, there was a table available right away so waiting wasn't a problem when we came in on a Sunday night past dinner time. The food was very delicious and the portions were very generous. For the price that you are paying for quality Halal food, everything is worth every dollar. The owner was very kind and accommodating to our needs. Located in heart of Little Bangladesh, I've been told it has one most authentic Hyderabad biryani in DTLA. Relatively clean, and enough seating area for large group. You start to smell the Kabob and Biryani being made right in front of you. Picked up their mutton biryani and beef biryani. I would vote for the Mutton biryani. I've been told their chapli and Bihari kabobs are heavy hitters as well; will try them next visit. Parking wasn't too bad, since we went in peak dinner time on a Saturday. read more

I have been to Biryani Kabob house a number of times, ordered different dishes, to see if it justifies the high ratings on yelp but have been sorely disappointed on all the occasions. Their food is always extremely greasy and makes me feel quite sick (like how one feels after eating very greasy food). If you refrigerate their curry, you will see the grease sits on the top like a thick layer. Honestly, I don't think it is worth such high ratings on yelp. At least it is definitely not worth driving from afar to order the food here. The food isn't that special. Also, I have to mention, the guy at the counter isn't hospitable- he needs to smile a bit more. read more

Bangladesh can be so proud of this amazing little treasure chest of some of the best of the Middle East you've ever tasted. The names might need similar to the numerous Indian establishments around LA and Artesia, but this is not the same common fare at all. The kitchen is amazingly efficient and everything comes out juicier and tastier than every other version you might have tried before. The family run establishments grates everyone with a smile and warm heart like welcoming you to their home (even though it's actually a repurposed old Thai place that has karaoke setup once upon a time. Parking is a tiny 12 space lot typical of the edge of K-town but there are some street spots within walking distance nearby. You will not be disappointed you found this place tucked into the corner of an otherwise unremarkable strip mall. Mani gems are found in the most unlikely of places. Spice levels are mild to moderate and more distinctive than what you've probably tried before. Just go and enjoy! read more

This hole-in-the-wall restaurant is a must-try! Probably my favorite spot I've had for Indian/Pakistani food, though I am no expert. Situated in a small plaza, this unassuming Biriyani spot packs so much flavor into each dish. They fortunately have a parking lot, but unfortunately, it is pretty small and spots are limited. The restaurant itself is also compact, using the space effectively to accommodate customers that opt to dine-in. Service is no frills yet friendly and quick. If you pay cash, you save 5% apparently. Each entree comes with your choice of either plain naan or white rice, no substitutions or upgrades!! We ordered the chicken tandoori (4 pieces) with rice, lamb korma with plain naan, and an additional garlic naan. Total came out to $36 after paying in cash. The highlight of the night was the chicken tandoori. Portion was GENEROUS and the meat was so tender (we were first only using a fork and spoon to get the meat off the bone). AND SO FLAVORFUL. This is what chicken tandoori is supposed to taste like. The complementary sauce on the side added a nice touch. Lamb korma sauce was yum, I've never tasted anything like it, a bit on the sweeter side. Garlic naan was solid but lacking compared to the other dishes, expected more of a garlic punch. While out in LA County with a buddy, we made the trip over and let me just say: it did not disappoint. We ordered the Tandoori chicken, lamb biryani, and cheese naan--and everything was absolutely delicious. The chicken had that perfect smoky-char flavor with bold seasoning that hits just right. The lamb biryani was flavorful, tender, and fragrant, and the cheese naan was straight-up addictive. Customer service was great--super friendly staff and welcoming vibes. It wasn't packed when we got there (lucky us), but people were clearly placing a ton of online and phone orders, so it's definitely a hot spot with locals. Super delish. Feels very traditional/authentic with great flavors. My favorite so far (although haven't tried a lot yet) are the lamb Biriyani (obviously per the restaurant's name) and the lamb Karahi. The lamb biriyani is great value, large size, lots of large chunks of meat and subtle yet great flavor. Just want to keep eating it! The Lamb karahi is super flavorful. The volume isn't as much but the flavor makes up for it. There's not much in it except for a few large chunks of lamb. The fattier pieces are superb, there are some lean cuts that are drier. The vegetable curry is also amazing! Super flavorful, variety in vegetables and large chunks of vegetables, like 90% vegetables 10% sauce, great dish. My other favorite is the Rasmalai. Surprisingly comforting, not overwhelmingly sweet, just right. Slurped up the milky sauce even! The Chicken Tandoori is as it should be. Not anything surprisingly so neutral about it. The Chicken roll is also just alright. Read a stellar shoutout about it but perhaps not to my taste. it's like a fried burrito (chewy dough which is great) but dry ground chicken inside. Not too bad, not raveable good. The not so great dishes that dissapointed a bit were the: 1) Lamb chops: sour and not too much meat (nor pieces / only 1/2 of the container), mostly bone. There's even a lemon inside to squeeze more sourness on it? lol (speaking from ignorance of not knowing how to eat this dish perhaps :) ) Most of the sides are also burnt (understandable from the oven method but definitely carcinogenic so need to remove all the burnt parts) 2) Naan: was most looking forward to this one (got the regular and garlic). They are super long big pieces (almost like 2x size), but rather flat (dead/not risen dough instead of the fluffy kind I was hoping for). I read Pakistan naan is fluffier than Indian naan so was surprised at the reversal. But definitely very home-made feel. 2) Gulab Jamun: perhaps it's the normal taste (it tastes great still) but was just way too sweet for me. The sweetness overwhelmed the rose water fragrance. Service: despite ordering quite a big order, was fast! Ready in ~ 25 mins. The staff was very friendly too, helped carry part of my order to my car (he felt may be too heavy/a lot by myself but it was manageable :) ) Parking: there is free parking lot in front. Overall, great restaurant! Definitely a regular place for me! read more

I always love eating here. I enjoy the food immensely. I've been very blessed to have a lot of people invite me to come here. I like the paneer biryani, malai coffta, fish, fry, etc., for dessert I like the ras malai, the mango lassi is good, but I need a bigger cup. That's the only thing. This is the place to be. Best food I have had since I was staying in New Delhi. It's authentic and flavorful and the staff is so kind and clearly cares deeply about giving a positive dining experience. The portions are really big though so come hungry! No frills, simple, and homey restaurant with incredibly generous portions of biryani. I ordered the lamb biryani, which is one of their most popular items, along with a samosa and chicken roll to try. There's a service fee for card transactions (I think 5%). The samosas and chicken rolls stay in a small food warmer box near the entrance and is self-service . They call your name to pick up the main entrees at the counter. Chicken roll was really savory and the samosa had a good crunchy fry to it. The complimentary chutneys go well with them. The biryani comes with its own special chutney (sauce?) that brings a much needed brightness (minty-herbaceous) flavor profile to the otherwise salty and filling biryani. The inside of the restaurant is small and informal, with seating capacity of around 25 to 30 people. I started with an aloo samosa as an appetizer and was pleased with the taste and its freshness. For the main course, I ordered beef Biryani, chicken Karahi, and Aloo Paratha with a soda and yogurt drink. The food came out pippin hot and tasted great. A small container of raita (yogurt dressing) for the biryani was also provided. Chicken Karahi, although tasted great,but was cooked a bit differently than the usual Pakistani style and looked similar to a chicken curry. It would have been nice if they would accompany that with some fresh salad. But for the price ($54) I ended up paying, the value of the food was great.
