This is the place. Vu's Bolsa Smog Test is where I've taken my 3 vehicles for years when it is time to do the dreaded smog check. The two brothers are fantastic and do service with a smile. They will let you know if the car needs repair work to pass the smog acceptance criteria. Luckily my experience have been of a minor concern...except the one car which I am happy to say that after the last couple of nail-biting efforts, I quickly offloaded this one and no longer need to worry. I usually go in and am immediately acknowledged/recognized that I'll be next in line. It doesn't take long for finishing up the cars ahead of me. *** BEWARE THIS PLACE ARE SCAMMERS!!! *** Took my old Nissan Truck for a smog check, the tech told me it failed visual test, notwithstanding all emissions passed! He indicated it was an RPM issue and likely would need clutch work. They charged for the failed test but then suggested a "guy" who could fix my truck to pass. They insisted I talk to a mechanic "guy" whom they called and shoved the phone in my face. The "guy" told me he could fix my truck, and when pressed for how much, he told me $350! There was no inspections or assessment! I was shocked, declined and took the truck to my trusted mechanic, he reviewed the failed report and told me that there was nothing wrong, and said the tech at Bolsa (a newby with a low tech number) looks inexperienced and didn't know how to operate a manual transmission in order to hold the RPM in 1st and 2nd gear! I took my car to another smog test center and it passed with flying colors! No "clutch" or any other work was necessary, my truck was perfectly fine!!! *** DO NOT GO HERE!
