We started with a combo platter of fried items, great choice, just so much food. We ordered the burgers as they had a special running 3 days and they were okay. Mine was requested medium-rare and I got well done. I ordered the chili as my side dish, skip the chili extras, as they charged for each item separately. My wife really enjoyed her burger, as hers was as requested medium well. We left very full and walked a few miles to walk off that feeling. Our server was Margo, and she was a delight from the word go, even just walking through the doorway. She asked us if it was windy, as we were a mess. This is a very casual joint. On a Sunday afternoon, it took a little bit to get served, but we were glad we waited. We had the braut sandwich plate, substituting fries for potato salad. The braut sandwiches were fabulous, but needed more mustard and sauerkraut. (I asked and added more mustard.) Fries were battered and crispy. Yum!) The beans were meh... like out of a can. Pass. This bar was a welcome respite during our downtown shopping excursion with 3 children and 4 adults. While it may sound odd to bring your kid into a bar, in Wisconsin it's really not all that unusual. The bartender was a lovely woman, but was just filling in and seemed a little overwhelmed as the number of customers in the place increased over the time that we were there. But we didn't really mind that we had to remind her to give us another round. Because she and the other patrons, let our children play darts to their hearts content. Which gave the adults time to order some french fries mozzarella sticks and a round of Boody Mary's (or two). Food was pretty standard bar fare, but it hit the spot. The Bloody Mary's were great. We were visiting family in Sheboygan from out of town and came here for food on Sunday night when much was closed. All was good and really reasonable! We mostly had burgers; one had double brats. I had steak sandwich (which is really a chopped beef hamburger) which was good and very large. All were served on fresh "hard" rolls. The fries were very good as were the onion "rings". It's not that it was super special, but I definitely would go back. The only confusion is I was thinking of getting a beer and asking about the different local beers but decided to pass. I guess the bartender misunderstood and thought I ordered one bc he poured one and left it on the bar. We didn't realize it until we were paying to leave. And yes, he charged us for it. Enticed by tempting grilled meat aroma emanating from Sly's, Going in ready to order. Ignored by bartender; not one evening but two consecutive evenings!!! Not sure if it was our masks or because we weren't locals, or because we didn't present as white. Not giving small minded and discriminatory businesses like that any of our hard earned money. I was overcharged by $4 for a sandwich and told it was because meat prices went up when I had just paid $4 less the week prior for the same sandwich. Was handed a menu for pricing and when I pointed out what I should've been charged, the lady said that's not right either, prices are different. was also charged for gratuity for an order I called in and picked up and they didnt even get my order right. Sly's was just OK. We were staying at the Blue Harbor down the road and looking for some place for a cheaper, quick bite. Yelp filtered this under "good for kids" so we looked further. Sounded like a bar, so I called and the pleasant woman on the phone said that of course they welcome families. Well, it's definitely just a bar that serves food. Not to be confused with a restaurant that also has a bar. The food was about what you might expect for the price. My burger was definitely just a frozen puck patty, but it was $6 so no complaints. The fries were outstanding. The waitress/bartender was actually great with our kids. Got them fitted with some Crown Royal plastic cups and some straws cut down to kid-size. Nice touch. The staff was great, the food was average, and the scene was a Townie bar in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. On business travel one of the guys picked this place to eat and watch the game. Felt like a dive bar but I'm no stranger to that. The grill closed at 8 and we were hungry. Instead of the typical "sorry were closed" the bartender said " no problem, I'll fire up the grill." Michelle delivered a top rate experience and we were all quite impressed. Wanted to try Sly's for awhile and finally got a chance. Tried the Philly Cheese Steak with Tucsan fries. It took longer than I thought it should but when the cook finally brought it over to me he did apologize for the delay which I appreciated. The sandwich was very good but wasn't a fan of the fries, should of went with the French version. Here's the kicker. Original bartender/waitress was done with her shift and her replacement came in with wet hair(no biggie) until Goldie Locks decided to brush out her hair behind the bar, whipping her hair back and forth and finished up with more brushing, three feet from where I was trying to eat. Are you kidding me. Something that probably that should have not been done there. Next time try doing that in a restroom. I enjoyed the sandwich but it will be a while before I return. read more
