Surprisingly delicious! I travel a lot for work and order DoorDash often. If my order is right, it's off then not that great. This place was surprisingly good. The bacon was very crispy and not burnt. The eggs were moist and the pancakes were great. I requested extra butter which I received, and it came with all the necessary utensils. I've been here for breakfast but the other night my family and I went for dinner. I did something I have never done in a restaurant: I ordered liver and onions with bacon. We should have known not to go in because there were literally 6 cats hanging out by their dumpster. They had a crate out there and everything. Like they feed them or something. I tried to convince my family that we shouldn't go for that reason alone, but they insisted. Service/waitress was good. Food was average. HOWEVER, upon drinking some soda, my husband noticed a film and white chunks in his soda. The next day he had to call the on call dr come to find out it gave him a bacterial infection. My husband and I have been going to this restaurant at least once a week for the past 3 or 4 years. We are great tippers and loved the food. In fact, I had previously written a very glowing review about the food at this restaurant because the food is very consistent and always good. What I failed to mention is how very RUDE the owner is. He has always been rude to us to an extent but we had continued to go there because we had  felt the food  was worth it and the owner isn't always there.  I would say he is only there in about one in five visits that we make but after today we will never, ever go back. The owner is basically a tyrant over his staff and cannot stand for a customer to ask to be seated in a specific area, even when it is in the middle of lunch time, all of the waitresses are working and there may be only 3 or 4 booths in different areas of the restaurant open.  He doesn't care, he will literally refuse to put us at a booth in an area that we request and insist that we sit where he wants us to.  Then he will turn around and seat the very next table at the booth you requested and he refused to seat you at. I am talking the people standing behind us.  That has actually happened more times that I can count. It makes absolutely no sense but he really doesn't care about the customers at all. There are a row of booths down the middle of the restaurant which has a partition that separates the tables on either side. However, there are cutouts in this partition where your face is so that  you are basically sitting 2 feet from the customers on the other side of the partition staring right at them. I don't like to sit at one of those booths for many reasons. First, because of on going covid concerns, I  don't want to sit that close to anyone else. Secondly,  there is absolutely no privacy to carry on a conversation with the person you are with.  You may as well be sitting with the table on the other side.  But he ALWAYS tells the person who is seating us to seat us at one of those tables.  I would sit at any other booth but there and the owner knows this because I have had to deal with him several times over the years on this exact same issue.  So much for customer service. There have been previous visits, at lunch time, when there may be only a few booths left and he really has no choice but to seat us in the specific area, by the window that we requested and he seems so angry that he has to seat us where we requested that he has taken us to a booth  by the window and he actually scowls and literally slams the menus on the table and  stalks off. No enjoy your meal, nothing. Just one question, WHY? Today was no exception.  We walked in, it was about 12:45,  and all areas of the restaurant were open.  Of course my face fell when I realized the owner was there. I didn't even bother to ask to sit in the area I like, by the window, in a booth, even though there were two open booths over there because I knew he wouldn't put us there and I didn't feel like dealing with him because he is so rude and its become not even worth the hassle or argument. He told an employee  that was seating us to seat us at one of the partition tables, again, even though he knows I always ask not to be seated there. So we asked the employee if we could sit at the open  booth by the wall or the open booth over by the window.  The employee said "No, he wont let me" stating that the owner wouldn't allow him to seat us there. That's when I turned around and realized the owner was following the employee and us around and shaking his head at him  telling him not to seat us where we wanted to sit. That was the straw that broke this camel's back. We decided we would leave and he actually said "goodbye" sarcasticallyof course.  We are frequent, good paying, great tipping customers and the owner has made it so stressful that we actually dread going in there in case he is there and we have to deal with him. It's just not worth it and we will not be going back nor will we be recommending this restaurant to anyone. Even the food is not worth dealing with such an angry person. read more

You will not be seated until more than half of your party arrives even though there are numerous open tables. Poor first impression. I will not go back. read more

A great local spot for breakfast/brunch. Great food and great service. The view is that of the main street and it can get quote loud as families come here often. But the food is made to order. In a small town, it's a great gathering place. It has the homey feel and the owner is super nice and friendly. I came with my mom and sisters and 4 of my nephews. We were a bit loud and messy, but the owner didn't mind us. He came to talk to us and see how we were doing. Food was great and my eggs were cooked how I like it, sunny side up. This has been a popular local spot for many Sheboyganers and it really shows. On weekend mornings, it can get quote busy. Nevertheless, I highly recommend this place. read more

A great spot for a bite if you like the homey, family-style diner feel. We, a large family of 9, came here without calling ahead on a weeknight. They sat us right away, and soon became the only people in the restaurant. This was great - as they gave us their full attention and allowed the baby of the family to run about as he pleased. At the end of the meal, they gave the lil' guy free ice cream too! The server was amazing. She got ALL of our meals out super fast and there were NO mistakes. This is a rare sight when going out with a huge group. We got to learn a bit about the restaurant and her own life with kids, which is always fun for a social setting. That all said, you are not coming here for the views, you are smack in the middle of roads. There is plenty of parking, however. The food was very good. I had pancakes and eggs. I asked for cheese in the scrambled eggs and they gave me waaaaay more cheddar cheese then I would ever get at an IHOP or something. Meals were cheap and felt like they were cooked by your parent or grandparent. We also got free bread after sitting down, which again, you'd never see at an IHOP. Everyone else's meals were very good, my boyfriend came in very hungry, but couldn't even finish his club sandwich. The ice cream is a must if you like thick, creamy custard. Great place!!! First of all, it is clean and the staff is super nice and hard working. I went in alone and didn't want to take a table as they were busy. The hostess said I could have a table, but I said I would sit at the counter. I enjoy watching the chefs. They were having fun and man, they were getting out orders super quick. I overheard a waitress, whose order was ready and under the heat lights, say a few of her patrons had gone to the restroom and one was in a wheelchair so she knew it would take a bit longer, wanted to wait until they returned to the table before she took the food over. That was very sweet. She was conscientious of wanting to serve their food hot. I was impressed. The hostess would walk back to the chefs area to help get orders. I got breakfast with my friend here and it was a nice place to have quality time with someone. The food was spot on. It was a little much but that's what I expect from a restaurant. I tend to overlook Sheboygan's Family Restaurant but it really deserves more credit. It seems a little more old because of the interior but the food is worth it. The service speed is reasonable. There is tons of space in the restaurant so groups have nothing to worry about. I don't go out of my way to go here but if I need a good place to grab a meal with a friend, this place is one of my choices I would prefer. read more

We must have passed this place hundreds of times. Each time noting the full parking lot and making a mental note to check it out. Well, today, on our way to Perkin's, we saw the full parking lot and made a u-turn. Best decision of the day. We were sat immediately with our choice of booth or table despite a full restaurant. We had coffee before we were fully sat down. We were greeted by our server with the most friendly smile. The menu was huge, but I decided on the 3 eggs with corned beef and pancakes. My boyfriend got the steak skillet with chocolate chip pancakes. The food was fantastic. We got it so fast!! Prices were totally fair. Our breakfast and two coffees came to $25. The staff is extraordinarily efficient. People were coming and going all morning and a table did not stay dirty for more than a few moments. First time here. It's clean and looked to be recently remodeled. Staff was friendly and we were seated right away. What I was most impressed with was that all the staff were wearing masks. You won't find fancy here; just solid, hot eats. The breakfast was a good choice for us. Pancakes were fluffy and nothing was greasy. This is a great alternative to chain restaurants. What I notice that when I went to pay for my food not only did the owner not asked how was everything, you know the normal questions asked by the hostess or cashier, he totally acted as if I wasn't standing there paying for my food in his store! Stopped for lunch while in the area. Good size parking lot and place was easy to find even when you don't know the area. we were greeted and seated promptly. Have a good size menu including breakfast all day. I couldn't get past the special for seniors part of menu. For $11 total, I had the fried chicken which was moist and crispy although i prefer more seasoning. (AKA Mr. Perkins in Milwaukee) The lunch included mushroom soup, chicken (I was able to get all white), a beverage and small dessert. Good deal for that price. Quality good for what I paid. Wow, were we impressed with this place! We walk in, and the place was so modern and up to date. It had some of the most beautiful bathrooms I've ever seen. Everything throughout the restaurant was spotless. I got some chicken dumpling soup with my meal (served before the meal though), and it came in a bigger portion than I've ever received before. Which is an extremely good thing, because it tasted incredible! I got the bacon cheeseburger, which was delicious! The bun was so fresh and great, the bacon and burger were both filled with flavor! My wife got the beef tips over noodles, which she really really enjoyed. Luckily I got to try some and totally agreed. My mom got the broasted chicken, and she said it totally exceeded expectations. She didn't finish, so I also got to try some of that, and it was phenomenal! Best breading I've ever had on broasted chicken and it was nice and juicy. Not dry at all.
