I have had a better Indian food, but may be I didn't ordered the right food. The food was either extremely salty or no salt at all. Sambar could be flavorful or chutney could be more coconut, or dosa filling could use salt. Overall the dish was bland. The gobi Manchurian was too salty. I am just glad we only ordered one chole Bhatura the only reason we actually went to them. It was total flop. The chole was super high on raw spices (uncooked) like they were added as an after thought, with no tanginess, even the basic salt was missing. The bhatura's were flat, overcooked and oily. Definitely wouldn't be returning for those. However, may be other items on the menu are redeemable. read more

We ordered take out and when I arrived no one came out to talk to me. It was a ghost town on a Sunday evening with no lights on, no music and an overall eery feeling. When I did finally get acknowledged it was to tell me my food wasn't ready on time. Then, when we got home the order was wrong. When I have successfully ordered food from Bombay Biryani, it's been magnificent. The Biryani is abundant, the dosa might be the best in town, and the menu is one of the most unique in the area. But you see those posted hours? Just know that the owners don't consider them so much a guide as a suggestion. If you order at 6 on a Sunday and the restaurant closes at 9--and informs all of its third-party delivery services that it closes at 9--there's no reason that customers and drivers should arrive to a place that's been closed for an hour. I know you're trying to run an event center and a restaurant, but here's an idea: Work on doing the basic things well, then expand the business. In the meantime, just keep the lights on during the posted hours, willya? read more

AMAZING Butter Chicken! One of the best I've ever had. It was extremely flavorful, seasoned beautifully and the chicken was the perfect cut. The garlic naan was incredibly fresh and made perfectly for dipping. And I got it all as a doordash order! Hot and wrapped in Saran Wrap so nothing spilled. The food here leans toward South Indian cuisine with several Indo-chinese offerings too. On a hot (95°) late summer day not wanting to leave my cool home to get dinner, I opted for delivery from a yet untried Indian restaurant. The food arrived well wrapped and packaged safely. My roommate and I both enjoyed the food and are already looking forward to trying other items on the menu. For the maiden voyage I ordered navratan korma, aloo gobi and Szechuan fried rice. The two sabji came with fluffy basmati rice. I thought the food had great flavor and just the right spice level. My roommate is a spice whimp so he had to add a lot of yogurt to the Szechuan fried rice so his eyes would stop watering. But anything with Szechuan in it's name here is bound to have a little kick. I don't know why they named it Bombay Briyani House as it is more of south Indian restaurants - although the Briyani is more of Hyderabad style. There is nothing Bombay about this place. Having said that food is really good. Expect spicy food if you ask for spicy food. To be honest I don't think they ask you the spice level. They have a standard level and I am glad they do. I don't want to go to a restaurant which asks for a spicy level but at the end of the day serves you what they want. Tried many cuisines here but I will mention few items which were not up to the mark: - Salt Lassi was too salty - Mango Lassi was ultra sweet - felt like Srikhand - Chole Bature - Absolutely amazing Bature. However the chole had too much of cinnamon flavor. Their food will be even great if they tone down things a bit - the place really wants to be at extremes. But still delicious. This might be some of the best Indian food I have ever had! Came in here a couple months ago with a larger group, around 6-7 people, and we ended up getting a bunch of items and sharing everything around the table. This was a wonderful idea, we got to try so many items on the menu and every single one was outstanding! Some of my favorite items were the Butter Chicken, Chicken 65 Biriyani, and the Plain Egg Dosa. Our server provided amazing service, we had a lot of questions and he answered every single one with a ton of information about the food. He was often making sure we were doing well; checking if we needed more water, how the food was, etc. One thing I love about the ambiance of the restaurant itself is that there are TVs playing music videos of Indian music, which provided fun entertainment while we ate! The music was a lot of fun to listen (and try to dance) to, and our server even noticed us trying to dance along to one of the music videos at one point and flawlessly showed us the dance moves himself! Tried their chicken dum biryani and chicken 65 biryani for takeout. The chicken was flavored very well and the rice had the rich and delicate feel that you want your biryani to have. The salan and raita that came with it were ok. Although I generally find all biryanis very spicy even if we order the mildest spice level, this one was very low on spice level even though we weren't asked to specify any spice level. That was good for me but I can imagine that some might find it bland because of that reason. read more

I have been coming here for quite a few times and have invited many people here. The food here is delicious and the atmosphere is quiet. Recently, I have several unpleasant experiences with the one waitstaff there. He has some unpleasant attitude and arrogance. For example, I went there with 2 friends there tonight. There was only another table of customers there. One of my guests really wanted some okra curry, i noticed its not on the venue but wanted to check with him anyway in case they do. His response was, read the menu and did you see that it's not listed there, so no okra curry. The other table already placed their other, i assume a while ago since their foods were already mostly served, when he came over to ask us to go to their cashier to order. Later on, while we were still eating, he came over to our table, it was before 8 pm, asking how many boxes we needed. We were like, "we are still eating." Then he was passively rushing us, letting us know they closed at 830 pm and then put the dish cart quite near our table. When we were done eating, we asked for a box, he was suggesting to my friend to wait for 2 mins to finish all the food so that we wouldn't need a togo box. I was there yesterday as well with another friend, I recommended this place to her as well. The same staff's attitude was also poor. At some point he said the owner of the restaurant is very busy because he has 6-7 businesses. What was that supposed to mean? They don't need our business and don't care about the customers in this restaurant? Both yesterday and today, he didn't come to our table to refill water. In fact, he had my friend to bring the entire pitcher of water from the cashier to our table. I don't feel appreciated and respected at this restaurant. It sounded like their restaurant was doing so great that they didn't need my visit, so I won't. We went at five on a Thursday and it seemed empty but service was prompt and friendly. We had to google some of the menu items we were not familiar with. In the end we went with coconut curry Lamb and butter chicken (Indian mild = American medium heat). Both dishes came with heapinf bowls of basmatti rice. We ordered garlic and butter naan. It was plenty of food for two adults and two kids. Our drinks were strawberry and mango lassi and two sodas. The quality was excellent on everything, but the lamb was a standout. we have only ordered takeout. we love this spot. we order every week and mostly get tikka chicken, pakoras, dal makani, a mango las, and some Asian style fried rice thing I don't eat. I love it! the chunks of chicken are always tender and delicious, the dal is so good on the day and as leftovers with veggies or cold with salad. service is always fast and efficient. and it feels like a good value. I'm not East Asian but I've been eating Indian food my whole life and it's not perfect but it's fresh, good quality and I never get an upset tummy. read more

I love this place and the food is awesome. The service is good but there was no air conditioning a few days ago on a really hot day. They had the side of their place open to the outside to try to help but it didn't help because it was really hot outside. I asked for an electric fan but they didn't have one. They do have AC but it must have been broken or malfunctioning. I wanted to leave before we ordered because it was so stifling hot but my Wife and Son wanted to stay. After a bit though they too wanted to leave because of the heat but it was too late as we had ordered our food. We rushed to eat and leave due to how hot it was. We had been sweating from early on. By the time we left we were sweating a lot due to how hot it was due to the AC not working properly or at all. We went to Safeway to do grocery shoppping afterwards and it felt wonderful to be in the AC in the store. After grocery shopping we all went home and one by one took showers to recover from all the sweating at the restaurant. I am actually trying to help the restaurant by letting them know they need to fix their AC. Hopefully it has since been fixed. My review of 3 stars for this specific visit is very generous. Never again. Honestly, the food is quite good, but the way they run this business is absurd and unacceptable. We have ordered from here several times. Always ordering online via their website and picking up our order in the restaurant. Never has our order ever been on time, we have had to wait upto half an hour post our scheduled pick up time for the food to be ready. Also, the menu on their website is out dated, which the owner doesn't bother to update but then chastises his customers for ordering something they don't make anymore BUT THEY LEFT IT ON THE MENU. This past Saturday was the last straw. They were closed for a private event but didn't bother to note this on their website or shutoff their online ordering, so nobody had anyway to know this. We placed an order online as we always do and then gave them an hour to have it ready (because they are always late). When we arrived to pick up our order, the owner just said they are closed and we will get a refund. No owning that they completely screwed up and inconvenienced us, no apology for failing to call/text us that they were canceling our order, no offer for anything to make-up for it - a coupon or credit towards our next order would be industry standard and a decent thing to do - but no. NOTHING. I really hope the chef is paid very well, because they are the only thing keeping this place going. read more
