    Sag paneer
    Janet M.

A few weeks ago my teen and I lost a beloved friend when Cedar's Lebanese Kitchen( in the cluster of Aloha food trucks) changed hands. It was just not the same under its new name/ ownership. SAD. We had it under good authority ( Cindy A. and the friendly cute guy in the car next to us when we tried " Lebanese Kitchen") , that Welcome India is good. So a couple weeks later I called in two orders of butter chicken, a chicken tikka masala,a sag paneer, and 3 pieces of naan. Entrees come with rice and are fairly reasonably priced. I ordered it with medium spice. My kid gave the favorite butter chicken a 5. It was not remotely spicy but it had a lot of big chunks of chicken. The naan was devoid of any char but buttery and soft. It is $2 per half circle. There was enough food from one entree for two teen meals. Perpetually hungry kid was satisfied. I shared the chicken tikka masala, the second butter chicken, and the sag paneer with my kid's dad, my ex, who has been doing repairs at our house around dinner time. I think that is intentional but ok. We feed him. The sag was not at all spicy, it had plentiful cubes of cheese ( which is good because teen swipes them even after being reminded that you earn those by consuming the spinach!),and it has a less creamy texture than other sags. I liked it. But I found it a little underseasoned. The chicken tikka was fine. But here is the problem, it was virtually identical to the butter chicken and they are two different things. I know this because my ex and I argued about it and became google warriors trying to figure it out and prove each other wrong. This might be why we are not married anymore. Just sayin'. This tikka ( also not spicy) consisted of unseasoned breast chunks in a sweet creamy orange sauce that was almost exactly the same color as the other one. In my pics they looked a little different ( of course I cannot find the tikka photo now) but on the plate, well notsomuch. Chicken tikka masala is allegedly ( according to the 6,305 references we examined) marinated in spices, grilled, then a gravy is added. This was not that. As my ex pointed out, butter chicken was not on the menu but they tried, possibly by adding cream to the tikka?? I am not sure. We each had leftovers for lunches, too. Which was nice. For the chicken dish issue and the lack of spice, I said it was a 3. I may be an Irish white girl, but I have eaten a LOT of Indian food both in California and Oregon including at Indian people's houses ( because of the large Asian Pacific Islander population in my neighborhood) and there was a lack of spice here. Maybe she didn't think we could handle it, my teen said. Both kid and ex asserted it is a solid 5 because of the pricepoint, the large amount of chicken in both dishes, the nice people, and the proximity to our house. So okay,we landed at four. The cute guy in the next car that one time raved about the biryani, so next time we are getting that.

The owner is a bit slow, but I like the food a lot. I have been checking out each cart in this parking lot (by the Big Lot), and i was pleasantly surprise by this cart's delicious food. We ordered the Butter chicken and Saag Paneer (green spinach w Indian cheese). Both were made fresh and served hot. The favor was great and we were just in heaven. Then there was a lady who came, dropped her ordered and had to check constantly because she was in a hurry. I thought to myself: oh man, I don't think the food is going to come any sooner if you rush her... So, if you are not in the rush, and am into some delicious food. This cart is for you.

Yum! Great prices, about 20 minutes wait, but kind and friendly staff! The butter chicken could have used a bit more spice as it was a little weak. The lamb goa curry was medium spice but was only a mild. The garlic naan was delicious as was the veggie pakora. Surprised at the huge serving of a dozen pakoras. The mango lassi was good flavor but was not cold. We'll be back due to the great prices and food!

Finally Decided to try this Indian food truck after weeks of walking past it to get to the Mexican trucks. So glad we decided to try this! Yelp had a lot of reviews on chicken and goat curries but we tried the Lamb biryani is instead. Its not the typical dry, spicebomb biryanis that you would get at restaurants - this biryani tasted really good but its def not a traditional recipe. Its a mix of perfectly spiced rice (we asked for medium spicy) with pieces of lamb/goat (I can never tell the difference haha) and a hint of lamb/goat curry taste (rice mix is also a bit on the wet side) but overall I like it! Raita was really tasty I cannot have biryanis without raita to balance the spice so I am glad the raita was good Next time we will try something more popular on the menu or see what the owner recommends

Back in Aloha, Oregon, at that same food truck pod at which we found @La's, stands Welcome India Food. It'd been a long day of walking, and I was too hungry to cook for myself. I love Indian / Pakistani food, and will partake anywhere in the world that I find it, so this was a happy moment. First I want to mention the team manning Welcome India Food; they were terribly happy to be sharing their creations, mindfully and carefully preparing step by step. By the time they handed it over I was very excited to stretch out my hands. The first time at most Indian / Pakistani places I always order the same thing, for the same reason I listen to vocals to judge a music system, to judge the cookery. Basmati rice, chicken tikka marsala, garlic naan. What immediately jumps out is that it's prepared and served at the proper temperature: HOT! I whip the container over to the picnic table shielded by an olive drab tarp, peeling open the lids and the foil, and am greeted by wafts of steam and a delightful smell from the rice, the marsala, and the naan. I struggle with mouths of hot food; so delicious and so demanding of consumption. The taste is more tomato, nutty, and sweet than I expected; a little bit _korma_. Deeply satisfying, and the perfect ending to a cold, rainy day.

Welcome India food is a food truck parked in the Big Lots shopping center on TV Highway in Aloha. It is parked next door to a fabulous Mediterranean food truck called Cedar's Lebanese Kitchen. There is a covered outdoor seating area located between the two food trucks that diners share. The lady who took my order and prepared my food was very nice. She chatted with me for a while and seemed genuinely interested in making friends with her customers. You rarely find this kind of warm customer service anywhere. I ordered veggie biryani and veggie korma. Both dishes were extremely flavorful and a bit spicy. I had asked for mild spice but this seemed more like what I consider to be medium spice. I would rather have my food spicy than bland anyway because all you have to do is add some raita. Everyone's idea of spiciness is different so mild is safest. Pricing was fair and the amount of food given was generous. I will return to try more of their menu and highly recommend Welcome India food truck .

Ordered the Chicken Korma. Not sure why there are peas, green beans and carrots in it? Pretty disappointing version of a vegetable curry soup. Texture is gritty, not creamy and no spice whatsoever. Also ordered two garlic naan and got one regular.

    The owner is cool.

I'm not sure if it was because how hungry I was, but the buffet special was delicious and spicy. Quite satisfying taste and filling.

Amazing pizza with generous servings!…read more My wife got the meat lover. Full of meat, thick cheese, great crust. Fantastic American style pizza! I got the chili chicken on naan crust. I was not a fan of the naan crust but it was super awesome to try. The chicken and sauce was amazing. The dominate flavors made the veggies and cilantro somewhat neutral, or maybe it was just a less than ideal batch of winter veggies. They did have the proper crisp, so they were fresh and cooked right Can't wait to try their chicken butter, and tandoori chicken pizzas. Along with some wings. Highly recommend.

Since it was delivery I can't really speak to the service or the vibes, but I'm sure we'll dine-in one day, considering how much we enjoyed the food delivered. My wife and I both got the butter chicken pizza and I was surprised as to how well the flavors transferred. I suppose there is some sense to it since you typically have butter chicken with something like naan? So this is sort of like a different take on "bread" with "curry". My only note is that the pizza tasted a little sweeter than I would expect for a butter chicken and we weren't given any options for spice level which would've been nice. It can also be a lot of the same flavor, but realistically it is a butter chicken pizza so there's not much to be added here.

Best of both worlds! I want to give a little grace in this review since perhaps I came in with high expectations so some of the dishes fell a little short because of that? It was empty on a Tuesday around lunch time but we were greeted warmly by who I assumed were the owners. The decor is fun, vibrant, and colorful in the small space. They are also popular with takeout and delivery. I actually really enjoyed my Lamb Vindaloo Tacos! The lamb was tender and it did have a good amount of spice. My friend and I both thought the Dirty Chicken Masala Fries and her regular Chicken Tikka Masala could have had more flavor. BUT with that said, my leftovers tasted better the next day! It really is a local mom and pop spot with such a cool concept and the food was good! I look forward to coming back on another day to try something different!

Updated in April 2026…read more We came to Desi Bite's new location for lunch. The dining area is much smaller than the previous location. The shop was quiet with some customers picking up to go orders. We went to the counter and ordered two non-veg (chicken) thali plates, a mango lassi and a chai masala. I also asked to confirm that they don't have their buffet anymore. While we were waiting, we noticed that most of the tables were dirty with food smudges and left over trash presumably from the day before since it had just opened. I tried to clean our table with paper napkins and water with little effect. So we decided to just deal with it. My husband went to the restroom to wash his hands and told me the restroom was in need of cleaning as well. As our food came. We noticed the sides on the thali plates were different too. They used to have two side dishes with cucumber, tomato, onion and crackers. The new plates were more plain, not bad, but not the same variety. The food tasted pretty good, I noticed the curries were spicer as well. That makes us wonder if there was a change of ownership/management once Desi Bites moved. It's such a shame the Desi Bites we remembered is gone..
