    Lamb Vindaloo
    Angel L.

Dined-in during lunch. Today it snowed so other food venues were either closed or opening late. Got lamb vindaloo ($13) and a mango lassi ($3). Although the lamb vindaloo on its own was good - with a tangy tomato sauce, melt-in your mouth lamb chunks and soft, well done potatoes, portion sizes were small. In comparison to the other Indian restaurants around, I would be able to get double the amount of food for the same price, especially at lunch. The rice was also not fluffy, but chunky. Furthermore, the mango lassi was unpleasant - watery and sweet, lacking any notes of tart. I usually finish all my mango lassis, but this one was just too difficult to finish. Two sips and I could take no more.

New name and new menu as of July 2023. Masala dosa was great and outdoor seating was nice in the evening. Will be back to try more.

Only giving 4 stars for small seating area and no A/C, but the Chicken Tikka Wrap ordered was delicious. Seating area has only 4 booths, so comfortably seating for 16 people. Menus shown online are no longer. Only 1 Chaat option now.

Lived in Hillsboro all my life and did know this delicious place existed! Will be coming back! I especially appreciated the nice care from staff. Vegetable Tikka Masla

Giving this place a 5/5. Been coming to this place for 2 years. One of our fav places to stop by for a quick grub in Hillsboro downtown. Food: the wraps have consistently been good for us especially spicy chicken wrap and seekh kabob wraps. The owner makes it in front of us and it always hits the spot. Customer service: The owner has always been very welcoming and kind. Never experienced any kind of bad customer service from him. The sevice can be a little slow sometimes when too many orders come in and if he's the only one in taking orders and cooking. He's always nice about it and you just have to be a little patient. Environment: It is a small restaurant and could use a few updates. But during the time of Covid, we mostly do take outs. Recently they have added a few chairs outside so its nice to sit out and enjoy our meal while its hot. Supporting small businesses so important especially during these times.

    Papdi chaat. 6/10 taste

I was so excited to try this chaat place. First time it got closed at 2:30pm. Online time mentioned is 3 pm! Never mind finally got to try it for lunch. I am disappointed as none of the food items stood out for me. 1)Papdi chaat: average preparation. Too much of cold yogurt and bland taste.Just 2 chutneys, potato and papdi with yogurt used. 2)Paneer tikka masala: excessively sweet, too much cream and grease. Fried paneer with no fresh taste. No flavors at all. I will give this dish 1/5.:(. Didn't taste fresh at all! 3)Chole bhature: this tasted better than rest. Not very spicy and tasted good. 4)Chai :Not strong and flavorful as per Indian chai standards. Customer service: order food on counter and they get it on table. I did mention about my disappointment with paneer tikka masala, the person on counter said he will let his uncle know and next time we should tell them to make it spicy. I am going to give this place a miss. Unless I hear something good about the place. From my experience will give it 2.5 stars.

I've had the food twice here and it's really good and affordable! The people are nice and it's right next door to Influence Music Hall. The service is good and food comes fairly fast, although it's NOT fast food, lol. You can watch them making your food - really interesting! I will definitely come again!

Achari chicken curry dinner. Comes with naan and a side of bean soup thing
    Kate M.

Small restaurant in the heart of Hillsboro. After reading the reviews I was a little concerned but I'm so glad I went in! I ordered out, so I didn't get the whole experience but their food is really good! Their dinner menu is a little pricier than lunch, but the curries and such come with rice, naan, cooked veggies, and a side soup thing. The whole shabang! Their chicken tiki masala wrap was delicious and so addicting! The wrap was fried, lots of chicken coated in tiki masala, lettuce coated with a creamy sauce. The combination of flavors make it a mild flavored dish that most would like. And if you're like me and like a kick in flavor, I added hot sauce to make it even more addicting! And their achari chicken curry was a bolder, spicier dish. With huge chunks of tender chicken thigh soaked with vibrant curry spices, this is one of the best curries I've had in a while! Plenty of naan and rice to get you full and last another meal or two. The veggies that's listed on the menu is like a simmered spinach and potato stew that is more mild and helps bring down the heat from the curry. Definitely get the achari chicken if you like spicy!! They're starting a Sunday brunch, where there are multiple entrees lined up for you to eat - like your typical lunch buffets. The owner wanted to keep things like back home so he added this yummy option just recently!

Lamb Tikka Masala n Garlic Naan

If you have been in Asia or other smaller countries where space is at a premium, you will know these holes in the wall are places to go. While dime a dozen elsewhere, here is one that will light up yr taste buds. The smell makes you want to eat. The menu has all the usual suspects, the Lamb Tiki Masala was super tasty and lots of lamb too. I was stuffed and the prices seem to cheaper than a lot of food trucks, how's that possible. Enjoy!!

At first the mango lassi looked normal, but when we went to try it, it was meaty flavored? and not like mango at all. We told him and he offered to remake it. It tasted better after that, but still the inti taste stayed with us. And then we got our main food, the tikka masala. It had a layer of unmixed cream on the top, which didn't look particularly appetizing because it was greyish. I was still expecting the food to be the same. Come to find out that it's too salty and has almost no spice flavor that it usually has. Still we kept eating. Soon, my boyfriend ate a piece of chicken that was not cooked fully. Unfortunate. Though in the picture it ma looked fully cooked, you could tell by the rubbery texture it was not. Garlic naan was good, kind of plain no complaints. We spent $27 dollars. Please consider this and spend your money on another Indian cuisine place.

Unfortunately, my second order via DoorDash missed the mark in two significant ways: 1) Spice level not honored: I ordered butter chicken and Mughlai paneer and selected "mild", specifically because my 5-year-old was going to eat with me. What arrived was unbearably hot, even for an adult used to spicy Indian food. I double-checked my receipt and the mild selection was clearly there. Neither dish was edible for my child, and I could barely get through it myself. What's especially frustrating is that my first order at mild spice came out perfectly mild. Dishes like butter chicken and Mughlai korma-style preparations are traditionally on the gentler end of the heat spectrum. It would be great if the restaurant could maintain consistency in honoring spice level selections, as it makes a difference for the person eating it. 2) No rice with the main course: In every Indian restaurant I've visited globally, a main entree comes with a side of rice as standard. I didn't select "extra rice" on DoorDash assuming this was a given, and added only a garlic naan. What arrived was two entrees and a very small portion of naan (two thin slices, really enough for one person), and no rice at all. A heads-up on the menu or at checkout that rice is not included would go a long way. I hope the restaurant takes this feedback seriously, because the food itself is very tasty!

The location and atmosphere is nothing special, but that isn't why you come here. Both times I've gone it's been busy, but we were able to get seated right away. The paneer makhani curry is delectable. It's rich, sweet, spicy, creamy, and has a great depth of flavor and spices. The shrimp biryani was the standout dish for me that I still keep thinking about. The rice was aromatic and cooked perfectly, while the shrimp was robust, bright, and very spicy. I would recommend ordering a spice level down from what you would normally get.The mini samosas were packed with flavor and I loved all onions in them. The garlic naan was also solid. All around incredible food!

Best of both worlds! I want to give a little grace in this review since perhaps I came in with high expectations so some of the dishes fell a little short because of that? It was empty on a Tuesday around lunch time but we were greeted warmly by who I assumed were the owners. The decor is fun, vibrant, and colorful in the small space. They are also popular with takeout and delivery. I actually really enjoyed my Lamb Vindaloo Tacos! The lamb was tender and it did have a good amount of spice. My friend and I both thought the Dirty Chicken Masala Fries and her regular Chicken Tikka Masala could have had more flavor. BUT with that said, my leftovers tasted better the next day!
