EJ Place serves a good slice of thin crust pizza. It was tasty (as your standard kosher slice), not greasy and filling. The place seemed to be a storeroom for pizza boxes. The location was sparse, and seemed to be in a somewhat of disrepair. There were holes in the ceiling and patches on the walls. Perhaps they anticipate a renovation in the near future though there are no other indications. The staff was not overly friendly or well dressed. read more

E.J.'s is a kosher pizza place in an improving part of Downtown Teaneck, NJ. I actually like the neighborhood. It's good if you either keep kosher yourself, or if you are meeting friends who do. It might not be the best choice for pizza if you don't follow the kosher diet. They can actually accommodate large groups pretty well. Kids are welcome. They have a separate room in the back where you can bring 20-30 people, and it's not a problem. Tuesday is "All-You-Can-Eat Pizza Night," and it's a good special. They also have a chopped salad station, which I wish I had somewhere where I live. Their air conditioning doesn't work well, and since there's a pizza oven in there, the whole place basically turns into an oven in the summer months. read more

At EJ's, big orders come first, customers second. The store is gloomy. Many chairs with rips and tears in them. No cans of soda in the refrigerator. Massive hole in the wall where people eat. Plaster is falling all around the area. I am waiting here with at least 8 people waiting to be served. A woman just came in to complain that she's been calling since 4 in the afternoon, but nobody picked up the phone, it's now 6:30pm. No pizzas available for walk-ins for an hour until they finish their big order. (Two potential customers just walked out.) They will lose a lot of customers if this keeps up. read more

Nice pizza why is there no Mountain Dew in the cooler This place was a lifesaver for me last year when we moved to Teaneck. I've never tried anything other than the pizza, except the soda fountain, although refills are a little expensive. If you want decent pizza, then this is your place. The noise level is never high, even at the busiest hours of the day. Right across the street from the disaster thats Sammy's, this place has decent food. My only question, is where did the peace tea go? I just saw yesterday that it was replaced with fanta green apple. This place is still one of my favorites. read more

For some reason I keep giving this place a chance because I go with a group of friends for the Tuesday night buffet. No more. I'm done. The last time I went I was told that if my group wants to stay beyond 8:30 we would have to pay overtime for the employees. This is completely unacceptable. The restaurant's posted closing time is 9 pm, and for the management to suggest that I should pay extra for the restaurant to stay open during its normal business hours is ridiculous and shows a total disregard for customers. If the employees don't want to stay until 9, then they should take different shifts, find different jobs, or the business should change its posted hours. You do not get to close early and kick a group of 20 people out just because you feel like it. If EJ's wants to pull this garbage and treat its customers like garbage, then they will reap what they sow. read more

This is the clear winner of the most vile "Pizza" I ever bought. I say bought because our children both took one bite spit it out. The pizza was burnt and had the consistency of plaster. We just left the whole pie and left. No one asked anything because they just don't care. All they want is money for garbage. It's outright thievery. This is currently Teaneck's best deal for tasty Kosher pizza. The price is reasonable week-round, but on Mondays it's $12 a pie, which is great for Kosher pizza. EJ's serves a great selection of Pizza. I personally dont like tomato sauce, but EJ's serves white pizza which is Just cheese. The pizza does have a lot of oil so i recommend using a napkin or squeezing it out, but otherwise the food is great. read more

I love the pizza here!!!!!!!! The staff isn't the best here but it doesn't matter. I just love the taste of the pizza. It is my favorite. I do not live in New Jersey and I specifically travel to NJ just for pizza. It is a great price especially on Mondays and their pizza is always perfectly cooked and always tastes delicious. Whenever I go there I always get at least one pie to take home, so I can freeze it and have it for that week or at least until I can get back there again to get more. I am a huge fan of EJ's. read more

This place makes me angry! There is absolutely no reason why this restaurant has to be so disgusting and dirty. You have a guaranteed clientele that will come because there aren't too many kosher dairy options, and instead of having some pride in your business, your establishment looks and tastes like garbage. You should have someone wipe down the tables after every patron, have a friendly person behind the counter who actually says " hello" and " thank you," mop your floors, clean your windows, make it appealing and most of all, clean up your salad bar. It is gross. When someone wants lemon juice and olive oil for salad dressing, cut open a real lemon and not pour it out of a bottle. Serve some quality protein's with the salad as well. Why would anyone want to have a party in your party room or, better yet, use your bathroom. Absolute filth! If you have the nerve to charge as much as you do, at least make it a worthwhile experience for the customer! read more

First time here, line has not moved in 15 minutes Never seen such inefficiency Cant comment on the taste.. I will let you know in an hour when i get to place my order.......Finally placed my order and was given my $3.25 change all in quarters. I gave this place one star out of pity and the fact that the pizza is actually pretty good. Unfortunately you lose your appetite seeing how filthy this place is (several visits...always want to give places a 2nd,3rd chance). Yesterday was my last visit and hope this warns others to stay away!!!! It is a large establishment with numerous tables. Only one was occupied when we arrived by a large family. we had our choice of tables to sit at. Unfortunately they were all covered with garbage (plates, napkins, crumbs, bottles) from prior customers. We found a table void of clutter but it did have crumbs and a stickiness from a spilled drink. I complained to someone putting together boxes and he wiped the table down for us. Although still sticky we decided it was the best of a bad lot. After getting our pizza (not our fries because they forgot to put them up, got a refund) we realized that the napkin dispenser was empty. So were all of the others except for one on a different table (10 empty dispensers in all). Upon leaving we complained to the gentleman making the boxes. He said they were shorthanded. That was the excuse the last time we were there. They have run out of chances for my business! read more

One expects poor service at a kosher restaurant, but rarely do you find a place that embodies the old borscht belt jokes. I ordered a slice, a calzone, and a ziti. Nothing too difficult, the staff found the order confusing, but were able to deliver the first two, and said the ziti would take a few minutes.... 30 min later, I go back to ask what happened to find out they just put it in. I say forget it, just make it another slice of pizza, and I get a whole lot attitude about things taking time and that they just out in the oven. I insisted and got... ziti. So in the end in a party if three, one person got hot food, and two others ate cold pizza. Oh and it wasn't that good either. read more

I joined Yelp just to leave this review after a disgusting experience at EJ's. The food itself was mediocre. The pizza was ok, but I don't understand paying good money for microwaved pasta. The pasta sits out in trays and then they pop it in the microwave when you order. I could do that at home for a lot cheaper. I don't go to a restaurant for microwaved food. What really got me was how disgusting the restaurant itself was. There was dried sauce and food all over the floors and the chairs. The tables were filthy. There were unidentifiable stains on the bathroom ceiling. And worst of all, the giant TV hanging just over the utensil dispense and soda fountain had a thick layer of dust on it - HANGING RIGHT OVER the utensil and soda fountain! I have seen McDonald's restaurants that have higher standards of cleanliness! This was absolutely disgusting! I don't know how the Health Department has not shut this place down, but considering the place was almost empty, my guess is the Health Department won't get the chance. read more
