Monday night...Just had take out from here for dinner. Service was quick...called and food was ready within 10 minutes. Only a 5ish minute drive to and fro so food was still nice and hot when it got home. The halal Gyro platter was filled to the brim with rice, salad, and gyro meat with a nice amount of white sauce. I always need extra white sauce and that was provided. Very good taste and very hearty. Gyro meat was in small chunks not strips like some places do. My son had the combo platter of ckn and gyro meat...he added hot sauce as shown in picture and he loved it. Both platter's came with 1/2 piece of pita... with so much to the platter it really deserves a full piece of pita for each one. I also ordered the 5 piece wings which I give a 10 out of 10 they were super crunchy, juicy and large. We had the buffalo sauce on the side and it was a perfect buffalo sauce not too hot not too sweet... just perfect. Would order these again and also order for a party platter they were that good!! Today was our first time trying Manhattan Gyro. To say yhr least, we were pleasantly surprised at the quality and flavors of the food. We ordered the mixed platters, with falafel and the Fries. The platter came with rice, sauteed onions, shredded lettuce, half a pita bread, and the protein. The meats in the Platter were flavorful, cooked perfectly and very tender. The fries didn't arrive crispy, but you can't expect that when ordering delivery. Despite the fries being soggy, they were still good; my kiddies enjoyed them. As for the falafel, I didn't try them but my husband said they were average. The restaurant also gave plenty of hot sauce and white sauce along with Utensils. My husband went to Manhattan Halal Gyro around 9:40-9:45 tonight (7/16) and was the only customer in the restaurant. He said that the place is clean, has seating to eat in and service was ok. The young man working the register did not have full knowledge of the menu, but was friendly enough. My husband finished paying and was not provided a receipt. Once he got home, we noticed that our order was wrong and an item was missing. We ordered two mixed platters and one was supposed to include toppings - it did not. We also ordered a side of hummus and pita that we never received. Since a few things were wrong, I called the store and asked to be refunded for the side we didn't receive. The young man that answered the phone put me on hold a few times. I got the vibe that he had no idea how to handle this situation. He said he couldn't give me a refund because his manager wasn't there. He didn't offer any way of correcting the situation. So I asked him to take my information down so his manager could reach out to me with a resolution. I'm not confident I'll hear back. The food is ok. Very similar to other halal platter places in the area. Except at those places, you get what you paid for. I recommend asking for a receipt and checking your bag before you leave. read more

Really delicious. We had the chicken platter with rice, a gyro sandwich and fried wings. If you like Halal cart food in NYC, this does the trick. The seasoning on the chicken and rice gives it a tiny bit more of a south Asian air, but the rest is pretty similar, even down to the salad. Order the white sauce & red sauce as .50 cent sides -- or buy a bottle. read more

If you are looking for the halal gyro platters like they have in Manhattan and Jersey city area...this place does it very well, I left another review on their other Yelp page( not sure why there are 2 ) but I had them for the second time just today and I think it was even better this time around , meat is very tender and the white sauce which at first reminded me of a creamy Italian dressing actually goes very well with the seasoned meat and very well seasoned rice. Good service , good packaging of contents and not cheap with sauces when you ask for them, give it a go!! read more

You can tell a lot about a place by the cleanliness of the bathroom, which was very dirty with a broken door. I placed my order then the very same person who rang me up with gloves on kept the same gloves on and proceeded to make my order. I had to tell them to change their gloves and remake it. The food was just average a little to much on the greasy side. I asked for more white sauce and was given a bottle that was kept outside and was warm, white sauce should be kept refrigerated and cold. Tables were dirty also. These were all red flags that I shouldn't come back but gave them a few more tries to be fair but each time the food and experience was the same. Stay away. read more

I've been working in midtown Manhattan for 25 years, so I'm very familiar with the original Halal Guys platters. In comparison to that, I would say that the food is less greasy here, rice has more seasoning, white sauce is on par, hot sauce is subpar. In terms of the rice, you'll either love it or hate it. It has some middle eastern spices that I find a little overwhelming because I like the scent of plain basmati. You add too many spices and you lose that. The hot sauce tastes like buffalo sauce with some middle eastern chili powder mixed in. It's definitely not a 100% house made sauce. The white sauce is basically mayo. Which is good. I had a mixed platter with some falafel. All solid but not made to order. It's sitting in warming trays. I'll go back again for a convenient Halal platter fix. Bombay Hut in Waldwick also serves NYC style platters. Also good but portions are smaller and a bit less authentic tasting. read more

We lived in NYC for a little over 11 years and were so excited to see a Halal restaurant pop up in the neighborhood! We ordered: hummus and pita, gyro on a pita, fries, and the mixed platter. All the meat was tender, juicy, and flavorful. We just wish we had tomatoes, some raw onion, and some slices of green peppers included on top of the lettuce. Otherwise will order again. read more

The food was alright, I think you should def get extra white sauce (they only fill up the container not even half way) and red cause that added a lot of flavor. The gentleman that took the order and rang me up did mess up with the change. Make sure you double check the amount you get back. Heard about this new halal place and went today with my friends. It was really tasty. Hard to find a decent halal place but this place was surprisingly delicious with huge portions. Tried both the mixed platter and chicken platter. Both meats were moist and flavorful. The basmati rice was also very flavorful , not the typical just yellow colored rice.
