Mixed Platter, Slice of Pita, Fries
Ammarah A.

Today was our first time trying Manhattan Gyro. To say yhr least, we were pleasantly surprised at the quality and flavors of the food. We ordered the mixed platters, with falafel and the Fries. The platter came with rice, sauteed onions, shredded lettuce, half a pita bread, and the protein. The meats in the Platter were flavorful, cooked perfectly and very tender. The fries didn't arrive crispy, but you can't expect that when ordering delivery. Despite the fries being soggy, they were still good; my kiddies enjoyed them. As for the falafel, I didn't try them but my husband said they were average. The restaurant also gave plenty of hot sauce and white sauce along with Utensils. We will be ordering again very soon!

Slice of Pita

Amazing. The most flavorful halal in the area. I cannot say enough about how good this food is. Better than the carts in Manhattan! Easy online ordering, plenty of seating inside. The plantains, oh the plantains... The best I've ever had. This place is great. I recommend the gyro platter with ALL the mixins, the plantains, and the pita but everything I've had has been stellar.

My husband went to Manhattan Halal Gyro around 9:40-9:45 tonight (7/16) and was the only customer in the restaurant. He said that the place is clean, has seating to eat in and service was ok. The young man working the register did not have full knowledge of the menu, but was friendly enough. My husband finished paying and was not provided a receipt. Once he got home, we noticed that our order was wrong and an item was missing. We ordered two mixed platters and one was supposed to include toppings - it did not. We also ordered a side of hummus and pita that we never received. Since a few things were wrong, I called the store and asked to be refunded for the side we didn't receive. The young man that answered the phone put me on hold a few times. I got the vibe that he had no idea how to handle this situation. He said he couldn't give me a refund because his manager wasn't there. He didn't offer any way of correcting the situation. So I asked him to take my information down so his manager could reach out to me with a resolution. I'm not confident I'll hear back. The food is ok. Very similar to other halal platter places in the area. Except at those places, you get what you paid for. I recommend asking for a receipt and checking your bag before you leave.

Mixed gyro Platter with the works, I hadn't yet put their delicious hot sauce yet when I took the photo yumzzz

If you are looking for the halal gyro platters like they have in Manhattan and Jersey city area...this place does it very well, I left another review on their other Yelp page( not sure why there are 2 ) but I had them for the second time just today and I think it was even better this time around , meat is very tender and the white sauce which at first reminded me of a creamy Italian dressing actually goes very well with the seasoned meat and very well seasoned rice. Good service , good packaging of contents and not cheap with sauces when you ask for them, give it a go!!

We went there for my birthday. All the staff knew it was my birthday and they also knew that I was eight months pregnant and wanted to make sure that I was comfortable. The food was exceptional. The wait staff was so nice and provided recommendations while not pushing any one dish. We got the focaccia, softshell crab, Peking duck and chicken liver for appetizers. The softshell crab was the best I've ever had, and I would come back to this restaurant for this alone. The Peking duck was juicy and tender with the most incredible slaw type salad underneath it. The focaccia with the butter was also phenomenal, the owner actually brought it out to us and we had a nice conversation with him and you can tell he just poured his heart and soul into this restaurant. The focaccia is definitely not an appetizer to be overlooked just because it is bread. While I couldn't have any of the chicken liver mousse, it looked stunning, and my husband said that it was incredible and so light and fluffy, and it was a massive portion. I look forward to when we come back when I'm not pregnant and I can eat it. For dinner I got the Arctic char, and my husband got the pork. The Arctic char was unbelievable. It was piping hot and literally just melted in my mouth with each bite and the side that came with it was a mix of asparagus, mushrooms, farro and I don't know what else, but it was fantastic if I could have that side on its own as well, I would order more. My husband's pork was crispy and delicious with another incredible slaw topping, and it was so massive he has to take home like a third of it for dessert. We had the lemon meringue tart for dessert, which was also incredible and so refreshing for a dessert. All of the food was outrageously fresh and just outstanding. This restaurant is our new favorite place and on the way out we even made a reservation for three weeks from now to come back. This is probably the best restaurant that I've eaten at in Ridgewood hands down and I'm so glad that they are in the area. The restaurant adds a new vibe with food that is so phenomenal to match. I would highly recommend this place to anyone in the area as a MUST try. Of course me and my husband will be going back in a few weeks and we can't wait.

Felt very rushed; the hostess ( not our waiter) came and took my plate without asking me if I were finished or not; I had to tell her that I was still eating my dinner! Also, they serve you popcorn to nibble on while you're waiting for your dinner? Felt like we were in a movie theater or a bar/ grill! I ordered the beef carpaccio which they serve with potatoe chips; for the price that they charge for the appertizer, you would expect better! Food was good but not great! Overall not a great experience!

We asked for ranch, but what came out looked and tasted like a cheesy dip (as pictured- you can literally see chunks of cheese in it). We even compared it side by side with their Caesar dressing which was same texture, just a different color. Isn't ranch supposed to be creamy? The French dip sandwich was another letdown. The roast beef was super dry, barely any pink, and the au jus sauce looked like the last bit scraped from the bottom of the pot. Very light in color when it should be a rich dark brown. One look and I knew it wouldn't taste right. Then came the burger, which was so undercooked that the blood soaked through the bottom bun (as pictured). The waitress never even asked how we wanted it cooked. Overall, I'd come back here for a drink but I'd skip the food next time.

I don't even know what it was served over but it was some kind of shredded veg and covered in a delicious light savory sauce with a hint of sweetness which I just learned was from a "sweet drop pepper" garnish. I wish there were more of these cute little red gems! It was the first time anyone at our table saw them. It reminded me slightly of a slightly smoky ripe cherry tomato. Delicious!! I ate the almost the entire dish and ordered a side of truffle mashed potatoes. I was very satisfied with my main entree and the black truffle mashed were also delicious even though the chef didn't know what region they were from. (A truffle hunter told us to always ask the chef what region they are from to ensure they are authentic and not oil or fake lab grown because they have to certify the region they came from before exporting them.) TMI I know but if you're a foodie you might appreciate this knowledge. For appetizer, the table ordered the filet ravioli....I liked the Brown sauce and greenery it was served with but wish they included more green beans. The meat was cut in large pieces inside the ravioli and was very tender. It was unique. Save some bread for the sauce. Hub had the dry aged steak and thought it was too thin and meh for the price. He's picky AF so that that with a grain of salt. I think he was expecting the meat to be like Cafe panache or a steak house and it was not so he won't get that again. I didn't try it and I saw him get it down to the bone so I think he enjoyed it anyway. Dessert was a delish apple tart that was on fire with vanilla ice cream and garnished with delicious berries. There were a few chewy spots from the topping but I would absolutely get this again. The filling was perfect with sautéd apples with cinnamon. Be careful when taking your first bite!!! It's hot from the oven! Hub burnt his mouth. Regarding the service there are opportunities. First, it was extremely challenging to get a glass of water. Second, the first waiter forgot half the specials (but to be fair I forgot too because they were super complex and I can't even remember after eating it!!) The second waitress said all the specials and placed our order. I asked her for tap water that never came...asked again and after 30 min I asked again and this time a bottle of water came that was not tap water. Fine. I didn't send it back because I was so thirsty. This water ran out and then i finally got the tap water bottle from the guy but I could def taste the difference. If I come back again I'll will get the bottled water because something tasted off with the tap water. I wanted to ask for lemon to make it palatable but felt like I was being annoying because they were busy and it was impossible to get another refill. But it was getting late and they started clanking the silverware and turning up the lights and I'm sure everyone wanted to go home so that's fair. There was an amazing server that took the time to take multiple pictures of our group. He even stood on a chair to ensure we got a good shot. I appreciated this extra effort. For ambiance it's a nice place to go on a date or with a small group it kinda gave me NYC vibes as a nice lively atmosphere but it does get noisy and it can be hard to hear. I would have liked to hear the light French background music over the noise because you can hear it well in the restroom. Overall a lovely dining experience in NJ.
