Mixed Platter, Slice of Pita, Fries
    Ammarah A.

Today was our first time trying Manhattan Gyro. To say yhr least, we were pleasantly surprised at the quality and flavors of the food. We ordered the mixed platters, with falafel and the Fries. The platter came with rice, sauteed onions, shredded lettuce, half a pita bread, and the protein. The meats in the Platter were flavorful, cooked perfectly and very tender. The fries didn't arrive crispy, but you can't expect that when ordering delivery. Despite the fries being soggy, they were still good; my kiddies enjoyed them. As for the falafel, I didn't try them but my husband said they were average. The restaurant also gave plenty of hot sauce and white sauce along with Utensils. We will be ordering again very soon!

Amazing. The most flavorful halal in the area. I cannot say enough about how good this food is. Better than the carts in Manhattan! Easy online ordering, plenty of seating inside. The plantains, oh the plantains... The best I've ever had. This place is great. I recommend the gyro platter with ALL the mixins, the plantains, and the pita but everything I've had has been stellar.

My husband went to Manhattan Halal Gyro around 9:40-9:45 tonight (7/16) and was the only customer in the restaurant. He said that the place is clean, has seating to eat in and service was ok. The young man working the register did not have full knowledge of the menu, but was friendly enough. My husband finished paying and was not provided a receipt. Once he got home, we noticed that our order was wrong and an item was missing. We ordered two mixed platters and one was supposed to include toppings - it did not. We also ordered a side of hummus and pita that we never received. Since a few things were wrong, I called the store and asked to be refunded for the side we didn't receive. The young man that answered the phone put me on hold a few times. I got the vibe that he had no idea how to handle this situation. He said he couldn't give me a refund because his manager wasn't there. He didn't offer any way of correcting the situation. So I asked him to take my information down so his manager could reach out to me with a resolution. I'm not confident I'll hear back. The food is ok. Very similar to other halal platter places in the area. Except at those places, you get what you paid for. I recommend asking for a receipt and checking your bag before you leave.

Mixed gyro Platter with the works, I hadn't yet put their delicious hot sauce yet when I took the photo yumzzz

If you are looking for the halal gyro platters like they have in Manhattan and Jersey city area...this place does it very well, I left another review on their other Yelp page( not sure why there are 2 ) but I had them for the second time just today and I think it was even better this time around , meat is very tender and the white sauce which at first reminded me of a creamy Italian dressing actually goes very well with the seasoned meat and very well seasoned rice. Good service , good packaging of contents and not cheap with sauces when you ask for them, give it a go!!

Delicious Manhattan style chicken rice and gyro. We love the spicy chick peas on the platters.

Owner was very nice and friendly. Great service. But the food was too salty to enjoy.

The prosciutto pizza was a standout--light, refreshing, and the crispy crust was perfect. Everyone at the table ordered a different pasta entree, and we were all impressed. The penne vodka sauce was creamy, flavorful, and rich without being too heavy. One small issue: we ordered a lot of appetizers, and no one came to clear the plates before our entrees arrived. With a smaller table, it got cramped and messy, and we had to ask someone to take the finished dishes. It felt a little sloppy and lack of service for an otherwise great experience. Especially since we had to ask someone other than our server for boxes and the check since she wasn't attentive. That said, the food definitely makes up for it. I'll absolutely be coming back!

Appetizer of fried zucchini sticks took about 20 minutes to arrive, and I had to ask for silverware. The mains of a turkey burger and the Amici burger were very good. Packed with flavor and cooked to perfection. The chocolate cream pie was more of a chocolate mousse. It was a little pricey too. Almost $90.00 with tip. Nothing bad about the experience, but I don't know if I'd go back.

(Reservations are not that easy to make last minute.) The restaurant is big and open but always busy. Kids get wax craft sticks to play with and bend into cool shapes, which I find very unique and cool. I feel like there is a difference between a diner and a true brunch place. A diner, of which there are numerous in New Jersey, is a establishment that churns out inexpensive, and potentially excellent, but very standard breakfast food - omelettes, pancakes, benedicts and the like. A true brunch place, on the other hand, offers things like lemon ricotta pancakes, cacio e pepe scrambles, mushroom thyme omelettes and shakshuka. Willow & Whisk is that kind of brunch place, and which is rare in New Jersey. The food options are varied, very tasty, and with good portion sizes. I love the shakshuka and the mushroom thyme omelette. Oh gosh, when is our next reservation again?

I asked if I could do 2% milk with my latte at 8am with only 1 other table in the restaurant. Waitress told me it's whole or skim. I asked if she could mix them, half and half. She said it takes too long for the bartenders... I said "there's 2 people here, mind if you make an exception?" To which she followed up with "no, it's a rule." Okay fine... I'll settle for my $7 latte I guess. Following that, I ordered the mushroom thyme omelette, the second bite I took had a full on hard stick from the thyme I almost choked on (not chewy, hard - see pictures). I decided to let it slide, these things happen with fresh herbs. 2 more bites in, another massive stem stick jabbed me. If I had given my daughter either of those bites, it could have been scary. I sent it back. I love their coffee, and the shukshukka (botching the spelling). But for how much you pay, their service is inconsistent and these errors are painful (literally). I'll likely come back for the coffee and vibes but won't be bending over backwards to do brunch here.
