I tried two of their wraps during lunch and it was a very deliciously filling meal. Chicken Tikka - Pretty good, I'd have it again. Chicken Reshmi - I enjoyed this more than the Tikka. Full with flavor! What really made the wraps great as the Flaky Paratha that wrapped the filling! Wow! I've never had a wrap as good! It wasn't dry, hard, or tasteless. The service was okay. Acceptable for that type of restaurant during lunch time in the loop. There is a small amount of seating which was fine since majority of people seemed to take their food to go. Just ate here for lunch today for the first time, and I have to say I'm mightily impressed. I tried the channa wrap and the samosa side. Things were quite flavorful, and I appreciate you can get things spicy (though, I may have to go for extra spicy next time). The flavor of the wrap was quite nice. Pricing is reasonable ($8 and change for the combo), and it's just about the right amount of food - you feel full, but not stuffed. Just yum. I've always found Indian food a little intimidating, mainly because I don't know what anything is (and my bf says he doesn't like it, so we never eat it), but this place is sufficiently Americanized and super approachable. I had the Potato wrap and it was amazing. I daydream about that thing well before 9:00am some days. My dining partner had the lamb and the chicken, and she said they were awesome too. I forgot to order the whole wheat wrap, which bummed me out a little. Not sure where this place falls on the health-o-meter, but I'd be willing to bet it's not pretty. THAT'S why they're not the size of Chipotle! I think they're a good size. Portion control, America. Try it sometime. The samosas I could give or take. Obviously out of a box, but not bad. As most reviewers have noted, most adults will need at least 2 wraps to call it "lunch". However, Bombay Wraps does indicate this on their menu, which is good. The food is fresh and tasty. I usually have the chickpea chana wrap (For the uninitiated, Chana is just the Hindi word for Chickpea. I have *NO* idea why they basically called the wrap a Chickpea Chickpea wrap) or the Chicken Tikka wrap. Both of which are great. The spice levels are adjustable which is nice for someone like me who can't tolerate very spicy food. There's always a bit of a line around lunch time so be prepared for a 7-10 minute wait. Can't say anything about their salads or desserts. If you prefer loud and garish Bollywood music playing on the TV while you eat, then definitely try to find a table. Otherwise, you'll be better off taking this food to a location of your choice. read more

I was on my way to Mr. Submarine (to fulfill the craving I've had for the past two weeks) when I spotted something new on an all-too-familiar street. It was the Bombay Wraps storefront-- and since I'm always up for something new, I immediately detoured into the store. The place is clean, the menu is simple, and the prices are surprisingly inexpensive-- so it didn't take me long to order the Steak Boti. It arrived quickly, but "it" was a very small wrap (almost the size of a corn taco) and I knew right away that I had spent $5 on something that would not fill me up. It was delicious, though. The meat was flavored well and the paratha was quite good, but I finished it in 5 bites. One dollar a bite. *sigh* I can't imagine being a guy and ordering that. Seriously, though. Despite how good it is, $5 would be better spent elsewhere for something a lot more substantial. So, in summary, while I did enjoy my food, it's a small amount of fairly watered-down Indian food (i.e. would be perfect for my guy who has an aversion to Indian food) for the money. A coworker had told me about this place so we went to try it out yesterday after hearing some good things. We both got the chicken reshmi wrap after debating for some time about which chicken wrap got the better reviews on Yelp. I think we were right because it was pretty delicious. We had heard the rumors about the wraps being pretty small but in my opinion, they were just the right size. And once you add how incredibly greasy those wraps are, you'll be just fine with one unless you're looking to feed your tapeworm. We also split the sweet potato fries and samosas which was a great decision. The samosas were surprisingly good, the dough was a little big sweet and the potatoes and peas were cooked perfectly and were really flavorful. The fries were thin and crispy and the seasoning had a lot of kick with a little bit of sweet. Definitely the best sweet potato fries I've ever tried. The decor is a little odd, the futuristic seats were surprisingly comfortable though. The place was SUPER smokey though... the grill is right there so man alive, there needed to be some more ventilation up in there. Otherwise, service was fast and polite. The portion of chicken was generous but one wrap by itself wasn't quite filling I rarely write good reviews for indian places cuz well I'm indian and very critical and most places don't get it right. But this was actually pretty darn good. I am a fan in that I will definetly be back but I am also aware of the drawbacks. Price- I bought the Cheese Paneer and Chicken Tikka wraps and it came out to 9.95. I was pretty hungry, but I'm still not gut-bustin' full like I would be from a burrito place for 10 bucks. That said, the flavors are good, but I suggest getting two wraps with different sauces as mine were the same and I would have preferred two different tastes. The samosas didn't look too small. The bread is good, but not exactly super tasty/greasy roti-prada if that's what youre expecing. The people are super-friendly and I commend them! I recently had the chance to eat here as part of a blogger/media event celebrating the launch of their dessert samosas and the business' anniversary and was very impressed. I will admit walking in I had no idea what to expect. When I think wraps they are often synonymous with salad stuffed inside a flavorless flour tortilla. This was NOTHING like that. First off, no lettuce here, but lots of meat, vegetables and cheese. The first thing I noticed was the Paratha bread. It's flakey and delicious all on its own, a definite step up from the typical tortilla or flatbread wrap. And the fillings absolutely match. With the exception of the paneer, everything is house made and you can tell. The meats are flavorful and perfectly tender and the flavor combinations work together flawlessly. I was amazed at how well they were able to capture the Indian dishes I love in a portable sandwich. Of all the ones I tried I think the Lamb was my favorite. The meat fell apart in my mouth, but without tasting overcooked and the curry sauce had a lot of nice, deep flavors. It definitely tasted slow cooked and all the spices popped. Even though I am generally not a chicken fan, the Chicken Reshmi was also excellent. I loved the blend of spices in the yogurt sauce and especially the pickled onions. They definitely added great flavor to the dish and balanced everything out. The samosas and sweet potato fries are also a great compliment and perfect for making a small-ish wrap a complete meal. And if that isn't exciting enough they just launched some dessert samosas today and I would go back for those alone. The Nutella with a Chai-Spiced Dough was my favorite. The chocolate was practically molten and melted in my mouth and the chai spice was subtle and complimented the chocolate. Before I bit into it I was worried that it could be too trendy and that all the flavors might compete with each other, but this was not the case at all. Craving Indian food, but having time only for fast food, I decided to try Bombay Wraps. The restaurant itself reminded me of an ultra-clean, modern Taco Bell, with bright lighting and a friendly hostess/owner. As a vegetarian, I ordered the paneer wrap - well-marinated cheese cubes and curry, wrapped in a flaky/decadent flatbread. The samosas were mini cocktail-style samosas, which were surprisingly well seasoned. I kind of wish there was a savory tamarind dipping sauce for them. My friend ordered the sweet potato fries, which were fantastic and the portion was huge! Not as Indian-inspired as I expected, but the dipping sauce made up for it with a spicy kick. Taking the rice out of Indian food? I am a fan. Naan and sauce are definitely the stars of Indian food, so Bombay Wraps is on the right track. My chicken tikka wrap wasn't the most amazing thing ever, but where they make up for it is service. Service, you say, at an order-at-the-counter place? Seriously, we walked in about 5 minutes before closing and the girl behind the counter was incredibly pleasant and happy to answer questions and fry up another order of mini-samosas. Yum. Delicious and cheap! Two very important (and rare) things when grabbing lunch in the loop. The Chicken Tika Wrap and sweet potato fries were perfect. My friend had the Chicken Reshmi wrap and said the spices were good but she could have used a bit more sauce on it. The reason for not giving it 5 stars was due to the hold up on the fries and the fact they were obviously unprepared for the lunch rush. Everything was moving smoothly except the fries (only 2 friers w/ I think about 4 bags of fries in each one). Awesome place to get innovative Indian food during the workday. I recommend getting two wraps and I usually rock the Chicken Reshmi and the Steak. In my opinion the lamb isn't worth the extra $2 but the sweet potato fries on the other hand are definitely worth the $2. Also you must specify if you want it spicy because despite it being Indian food, isn't really spicy otherwise. Seating is limited, so if you need to eat in try to get there early. read more

I think the concept of Bombay Wraps is fantastic. I wish there were more places that had random ethnic/non-American-but-American inspired dishes that were affordable and relatively quick, I people would start branching out from the Chipotle's of the world in downtown Chicago and try new cuisine types. I've been to Bombay Wraps a couple times so far and it's pretty obvious how quickly they're gaining popularity. I was in line for about a half hour today which is not a very common wait time for places downtown. So either they have inefficient processes or they're just so slammed busy during lunch because it's worth the wait. I'm going with the latter. You will have to wait though. Considering there are a million other places around I think the wait is a reason to drop off a star. I would encourage anyone who has thought about trying Indian food to check this place out. $4 to get a wrap that you may or may not like is way less than the $10 you may pay at a sit down Indian restaurant. The quality is decent and they have a couple side dish types (including the samosas everyone raves about) to go alongside your wrap and drink for sub-$7. read more

I love this place! Something new in the downtown area....fast-food, Indian on whole wheat flatbread. Flavorfful Indian food, minus the rice. After reading the reviews, I decided to try the Cheese Paneer and Chicken Tikka wraps. My favorite was by far the Cheese paneer....I underestimated its spice.....make sure your glass is full before your start eating this wrap...holy hell it gets hot. The samosas were tiny but WONDERFUL. Next time, I think I can do with one wrap and an order of samosas. I love the Bollywood movies playing in the background and that they serve Indian cola. There isn't much seating inside, I can see the place filling up fast at lunchtime but it's definitely worth a trip. I hope they continue to stay open until 3 am on Fridays (and add Saturdays). I love this place for lunch. They are Bombay street food style wraps. I generally eat 2, but my male coworkers usually end up ordering 3. This is great because you can try lots of different flavors. My favorite wrap by far is the lamb curry wrap: it's got some perfect chutneys and the lamb is braised to be so flavorful. The cheese paneer is also a great option. The Chicken Tikka let me down a little just because the chicken was a little dry - flavors were still marvelous. They close fairly early and it is in the Loop, so it's a perfect lunch spot but don't really expect to come for dinner. They also sell samosas and other Indian bites, but their mango lassis are worth the splurge once and awhile! read more

Samosa wraps are the bomb. Easiest and most delicious way to fill yourself up for $4. You have to stop here if you're in the loop if you're looking for some healthy alternative to the normal fast food choices you have (cough cough Thompson Center). Again, Samosa wraps are worth it! They are medium sized. Bigger than a soft shell taco at taco bell, and def not as big as a burrito from chipoltle; somewhere in the middle. I look at it this way.. whats the AVG price for lunch in the city? $10? 11?. So, with my two wraps, a side order of the somosa ( potato filled fried pastries), and a med drink was $11. Not bad, and i was def full. You can only order one ( @ $4 each, it wont break your wallet), and only pay $7 for your meal. pretty good deal for the most part. the chicken tikka was like eating a tandori chicken wrap. It's a great take-out place for awesome quick Indian food. I love their paneer tikka wrap and aloo samosa wrap. Yum! I just got water in my mouth as I write this. It's that yummy! Service is great and super fast. Not expensive and affordable. They should try to publicize their healthier roti a lot more. The usual paranthas are a little too oily for lunch unless you want to doze off right after it. When you go, ask for the roti wrap instead of parantha wrap. Awesome new Indian fast food place in the Loop. I went yesterday and had the Chicken Tikka wrap. The chicken was tender and well spiced. It also has sauteed onions and some cilantro chutney (didn't taste like cilantro to me but was tasty nonetheless). One complaint: I could definitely eat two. This is not a Chipotle or La Cocina- sized meal. Not necessarily a bad thing, though, since I always need a nap once I get back to the office if I eat a huge lunch. Plus they're reasonably priced, so you still feel like you're getting a good deal. There are 5 other waps that I'm going to try, and next time I'm gonna get the sweet potato fries or samosas. Update: Oh man, have meant to update this review. I got food poisoning and was sick for about 12 hours, very unpleasant. I think i must have been the samosas. My friend have half of one and got a stomach ache, I ate 2 and a half and got sick. We had different wraps and I had maybe two bites of my wraps because I started not feeling well. Won't be back for samosas after all. Not worth the risk. Must have REALLY gone on the wrong day. Me and a buddy at work decided to try Bombay Wraps finally. To start off with the positive, the samosas were great with the cilantro sauce that comes with them. The sweet potato fries? Kind of limp, but tasted good (I'm a fan of crunchy fries). The wraps were a big disappointment to us. He had the steak roti and the chicken r-something (not the tikka) and said "it's OK, nothing special". I had the cheese paneer and chicken tikka. Again, OK, but nothing special, though I did like the chunks of cheese. The wrap itself was interesting and would be good on its own. But the not so good part....we both got pretty severe indigestion, and we both handle spice pretty well, so it wasn't because of spiciness (the wraps were just a tad spicy, really). Not the best first impression unfortunately, so we won't be back. I would get the samosas if I was in the area though. On the size of the wraps, while they look smallish, they're more filling than they look. A wrap and a side should be plenty for most, in my opinion. read more

I've been waiting to go to Bombay Wraps for a while. I was excited that a Indian place opened in the loop, but I didn't want to smell like curry coming back to the office. There's nothing worse than being the brown person who smells like curry in the office. So anyway, yesterday I finally decided to hit this place up and so far so good. They don't have an extensive menu, but it's probably a solid menu. I had the chicken reshmi and samosas. Both were delicious. Just the wrap wouldn't have been enough, but with the side of samosas I had a good filling lunch. Prices are decent, interior is nothing fancy but clean. It means a lot when I give 5-stars (look at my ratings distribution), but Bombay Wraps is awesome. Cheap, unique, simple, and fast. They have 6 different wraps, which I believe is the key to their success. Instead of having 20 wraps, where 10 are good and 10 are bad, they only allow the customer to eat their best food. I had the chicken tikka wrap, which contains onions, cilantro, and some secret sauces. It was spicy, but at a level that didn't overpower the other flavors in the wrap. The wheat flatbread wrap is warm and seemed to be grilled a little bit. It reminded of the bread they serve at Flat Top Grill. The wrap is a little smaller, but they pack as much meat in as possible. You definitely get your money's worth at $3.99. The sweet potato fries are wonderful at $2.00. Some might think they are a little over seasoned, but I thought the spice was just right and they fit right in with the wrap. I will be going back many times. read more

I was walking by the little fast food joint one afternoon and saw the long line inside. Noted it in my head and made sure I went the next week for lunch. First off, the line is always long. Especially around lunch rush hour. Thankfully, the line moves pretty quickly.. Although once I got to the line to order they were out of roti and had to cook new ones.. so I had to wait...longer... Since I checked in on Yelp, I got a free order of samosas with my steak wrap. Samosas were just okay and the wrap was good, but I wish they were able to add a couple more ingredients inside the wrap.... maybe some veggies of some sort? Great lunch spot. Very tasty and affordable and they have a rewards punch card. My favorite item is the chicken Tikka, either in a wrap or in a bowl depending on my mood. I get it with everything and always make it spicy. The sweet potato fries are really good. Most importantly, because of the sweet and spicy ketchup that comes with it. Best ketchup ever! I always ask for extra. The Mango Lassi is really good too, and is a probiotic beverage. read more

Me and my husband were hungry but didn't want to make ourselves very full. So we decided to try the wrap take on Indian food by Bombay wraps. The outlet is nice and cozy. Freshly prepared wraps with delicious filling of your choice dish topped with mint chutney (My mouth is watering as I am writing this review). The food was tasty, fresh and light. Easy for to go as well. We tried Samosa as well. They are also nice. Overall good experience and will definitely visit again!! And yes they have another outlet near this one. This place catered at my job, the choices were the vegan, chicken tikan (I think that's the name) and beef kabob. Many of my coworkers didn't like the wraps but they're used to eating hot dogs, McDonald's and ham sandwiches. The chicken tikan was very tender and juicy , the seasoning was the perfect amount , it was overwhelmed by a cinnamon or curry . The wrap had the right blend of chicken , red onion, cilantro and whatever other spices used . The wrap itself was lighter than a tortilla and pita bread. The beef kabob was just ok , I added some of the salad and spicy sauce to it . But the meat was tender - it didn't have much flavor it to it. I don't like fast food, and I don't like chain restaurants. And yet, I thought this was awfully good. The wrap doesn't suffer from the assembly-line technique. I ordered the paneer wrap (vegetarian) with a side of samosas. I wasn't a huge fan of the samosas - they were high on flavor, but kind of dry in texture.
