I think I have given them enough chances and now I m done. I placed an order online and it gave me the pickup time of about an hour after. When I got there my order was not even touched and they quickly stated putting it together. Once I got back and opened my food it was not a wrap! It was a piece of paratha with stuff dumped on it. It was impossible to pick it up at eat...and this was the case with all 4 wraps that we ordered. We ended up throwing it all away. This is not the first time this has happened to me. I just had their Reshmi wrap which hit the spot! It reminds me of the kathi kabab rolls you get at some Indian restaurants...but larger. Sweet potato fries could really use some work...I saw a staff member clearly making a fresh batch for my order, but I opened up the foil not even 5 mins later and they were very soggy looking noodles... The staff seem very accomodating and friendly...that paired with a good tasting Reshmi wrap = my 3 stars for Bombay Wraps I'd recommend you try it at least once :) read more

Tried Bombay Wraps for the first time today. I had the Lamb Curry wrap and mini samosas. First, the samosas were excellent. Crispy, tasty, and not too big; perfect as a side. Second, let's talk about the wrap. It was good, but I wouldn't necessarily consider this a curry. The shredded was moist and not at all gamey. I could tell that it was marinated, but not in what I would consider a traditional curry. Although it didn't satisfy my curry craving, it was tasty nontheless. I would suggest, however, they they definitely add one or two curry options. Perhaps a chicken tikka masala wrap!!! At the very least, how about offering some curry sauce on the side. That may make the most sense, since the paratha may not withstand any extended time with a curry sauce inside. And while we're at it, how about a spicy option - e.g., "Indian hot" curry!! read more

So I just went there for the first time last week and I was pretty content with the food. I got two paneer rolls (I wish I got one paneer and one potato tava) and they were pretty good. could have been a bit spicier but not bad at all. the samosas were really good and flavorful. I also tried the sweet potato fries which were really good. Only problem is I felt like it was too expensive! the wraps are small and a smal framed person like me had 2, fries, and samosas and I still felt a tiny gap in my stomach. A couple of the people I went with had to get three rolls. So the price really adds up with that many rolls. I just had Bombay Wraps for lunch for the first time and I came away very impressed. I work in the Loop and I generally eat lunch at the same 3-5 restaurants but today I felt like trying something new. I had walked past Bombay Wraps a couple of times and I thought I would give it a try. I got two wraps: the chicken tikka and the chicken reshmi. At first I wasn't sure how many wraps to get or if I should get a side, but while waiting in line I saw that most people either got two wraps or one wrap and a side. I do not eat Indian often and I was pleasantly surprised at how both of the wraps were very tasty and flavorful. They were not very similar to my previous experiences with Indian foods (perhaps this is because neither of these wraps have curry). Regardless, I was impressed with the flavor and I will definitely be going back to Bombay Wraps. read more

I agree with a reviewer who recently commented on poor service. I had been to this place before and liked it, but visited today and was met by very poor service. The ladies who took my order barely said more than a word to me as I tried to order. Aside from my samosas being burned inside, the most horrific part of my visit: my pre-made salad had what looked like a small bird feather in it. A bird feather?! I wanted to try Bombay Wraps after reading all the comments here. The space was smaller than I expected and I don't know if their air was shut off, but it was very hot in there. The line was quite long, but since I really wanted to try the wrap I persevered. I ordered a Chicken Tikka wrap and a Chicken Reshmi wrap. They were $3.99 each. They still need to get their assembly line thing down as there seemed to be some confusion between placing your order and paying for it. I saw them opening up a few already wrapped up orders as they didn't seem sure of what was inside. So they need to figure out a better system. I did not eat there because it was quite crowded and hot. So I brought the wraps back to my office. The Chicken Tikka wrap was absolutely delicious. It was slightly on the spicy side, but it worked for me, with all the different flavoring and spices. I was quite full after one wrap. I had only bought two since a number of the postings here suggested that one is not enough. I tried the second one but couldn't finish it. The Chicken Reshmi wrap was not as good as the Tikka. It was a bit bland and dry for my liking. If you've had "Frankies" in Bombay, then the Chicken Tikka wrap will remind you of it. The parathas were okay (the bread that wraps the meat) but it might be worth offering another wrap that is less greasy and heavy like roti. I liked the food and will definitely go back. read more

So I decided to try out this new eatry after hearing about it. My first impression of the place when I walked in was "Greek town" Nothing to fancy and pretty boring and simple little hole in the wall type place. The furniture was average at best and small space and very little seating. I guess thats what they are trying to aim for. The workers seemed like they were a little lost while making the food and also a sales person. Kept asking me if I wanted a side order of Samosa or Fries after I declined. Now to the food. The roti reminded me of the frozen roti's you can get at your local Indian grocery store. Full of grease! Yuck! The chicken was not that great either. They did put plenty of chicken in the roti but hardly any onions to go along with it or chutney. By the time I brought my food back to work, it was all soggy from the chutney. I'm not one to give out 4 stars so easily (and I never give 5; no establishment is perfect), but this little Indian place excites me before I go in to order and delivers a pleasure filled smile upon walking out the door. First of all, I'm a huge fan of Indian food (and culture). The concept of the wrap, so as to enjoy some of the flavors of Indian cuisine, is very casual here, but also very good. Not a lot of choices on the menu, but enough to satisfy. Don't get me wrong, I am not comparing this to Indian Garden, but insofar as the concept of "Indian Fast Food," it works my pussy (as a male friend of mine likes to say). The portions are big, in my opinion. I even think they could get by for less and improve profit, but I think they would rather over satisfy their guests. Like most Indian people that I have come in contact with, the owners are super nice and generous. The place is clean and welcoming. They've opened a second location in Streeterville and hope to keep expanding. I ordered food from Bombay Wraps via Grubhub today. First of all, I got a call from someone there (who sounded disinterested and a bit snappy) who said they're all out of roti and I must order the wraps with paratha. Now paratha is oilier, and less healthy than a roti. Anyway, I ordered the chicken, paneer, and tava wraps with paratha. The taste was ok (not nearly as good as fresh wraps or rolls as they're called in India). But they were very oily. I ordered the nutella and very berry samosas for dessert and the chantilly (whipped cream) they sent actually has fungus growing. I could see a nickel sized area with the blue-green fungus clearly, so I threw it obviously. None of the items tasted fresh. The sweet potatoe fries were the worst. Will definitely not be ordering from here again. read more

Not bad at all. True, they have a small menu, but minimalism can be a virtue. The parathas are actually pretty good. I had the lamb and it was flavorful and tender. The little somosas were just ok, just smaller versions of average bigger ones. The decor is kind of cool: you don't see modern minimalist in a desi place often, though there are Bollywood videos playing on TV screens... The prices are ridiculously high and the portions are strikingly small, but it's downtown and in harmony with the value you get at nonchain places in the area. This is a distinctive place and I look forward to trying more of the items on the menu. read more
