I don't leave poor reviews often, but this place was quite a letdown. I came here for takeout on a Saturday night and called for my order in advance. I was super unsatisfied once I got my order and tried to pay: 1. The entree is served in SUPER small serving sizes and a total miss on taste. There is really not a ton of sauce or meat. The butter chicken sauce was good, but the chicken was so dry and unpleasant to eat and several pieces were left uneaten. The cauliflower appetizer is also like six pieces of small cauliflower, which were soggy in the center. (The exception on taste of the food was the Karahi lamb, which was really flavorful and meat was cooked well. I also won't neglect to mention that they did provide a small bit of free rice pudding.) 2. The menu outside the store advertised a promotion where you get 10% off for ordering via phone. Guy at the store gave us a really hard time about it and then said it applied only to cash, which isn't specified anywhere. Definitely feels like they're making up the rules as they go, and that left a bad taste... Fair that not all places will be a hit, and I was really disappointed that this particular dinner spot with friends was a miss.

Was craving Indian food and ordered delivery from them. Ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala, the Goan Shrimp Curry and an order of samosas. The samosas were good but the entrees were mainly sauce with very little meat. The portions were decent but the food was very bland.

I love, love Bombay Grill. The food is so good. Also, a lot of vegan/vegetarian options. You can ask to make the dishes spicier if you like spicy food like me. Staff is very friendly and will even suggest entrees if you ask. Nice and airy garden seating area. Will definitely be back! I love everything I've eaten here. The kachoori is a great appetizer, the cheese naan for dipping with your entree and the amazing curry selection they have. You can't go wrong.

It is good to see small businesses operate during these difficult times (Covid19) and Bombay Grill succeeds at this. I called in for an order and within 25 minutes, it was ready for pickup. The food was still piping hot when I got it home. Chicken Saag; 7/10 - I am more accustomed to a spicier and thicker Saag but the way it is made here is very sweet and liquidity. I am not sure if that is their own personal style but it is interesting. There is a very mild nutty taste but the hint of spices is quite lacking here. The chicken was also very scare considering this is a $10.00+ order. Chicken Tikki Masala; 9/10 - This was probably my favorite dish I ordered. It is extremely creamy yet retaining the integrity of the spices. The sauce was perfect over rice or used as a dip for the naan I ordered. They were oddly not scarce with the chicken on this dish. Chicken Vindaloo; 8/10 - Fantastic vindaloo dish with a good amount of heat. The spicy level is probably somewhere between a serrano pepper and cayenne pepper, so be careful you folks out there with the spice tolerance level of a toddler! Garlic Naan & Regular Naan - Not much to say other than the garlic on the garlic naan was overtly burnt, which expels the natural garlic flavors. The regular naan was regular. Free Rice Pudding - Free rice pudding is always a win. It was in a 3 scoop container. Pleasant surprise.

This spot could very well be one of the most under rated restaurants in all of Bay Ridge. Just quality food and really nice people. Nice outdoor, backyard patio seating. Give them a visit and see for yourself. Stopped in for a snack and a beer, and the service was fast and very courteous. Going to start making this a more regular visit.

My favorite spot for Indian Food! They serve so many varieties of delicious dishes! Waiters are all friendly and their recommendations are excellent.

    Chicken Tikka Briyani

This place had quite a few misses & honestly for this price point, I expected so much more. As mentioned this place was overpriced for the quality you get. I ordered the chicken tikka briyani which seemed like an interesting combination. However, the chicken was so dry and the briyani was so bland. Perhaps if you stick to a more traditional briyani selection, you will find it more tasteful. This version just is bland & not particularly tasty. The garlic Naan bread was another disappointment, it lacked garlic to begin with. It's like they skimp on some of the ingredients & they just end up being bland. I will say though that the sweets & sauces were the best part of the meal. Even the complimentary rice pudding they offered. I don't know that I'll order take out from here anymore perhaps I'll try dine in at some point. For now, I'm not sure I'd recommend this place.

Chicken biryani , 2. Mango Lassi, 3. Paratha, variety of chutneys

I am writing this review after my second attempt at ordering delivery from this restaurant. The first time, I ordered their Daily Special and ordered: Samosas: came filled with corn and peas. I am not used to this from any restaurant I have ever been too and it was not something I was expecting or liked. Chicken Curry: came served in a thick gravy. I asked for it to come spicy, and the restaurant did deliver in spice level, but it was just like they poured chili powder in the gravy. It was almost a dark red color (curry is typically a brown or orangey color) and just tasted like chili powder. I ended up discarding the entire meal and just eating the rice and naan. This time, months later, I was craving Indian and decided to order again, but this time completely different items: chicken biryani, kheer, paratha and mango lassi. The delivery took over an hour and the food arrived cold. The bread, lassi and kheer were all tasty. The biryani however had that same chili powder taste (perhaps due to my spicy request again). I really want to give this restaurant points for their kind reception when I called to inquire about my delivery and the way the food was carefully packed and presented. 6 small containers with varying chutneys and raita were included which was a nice touch (raita and kheer were excellent). I have never been to the restaurant so I cannot comment on waiter service or attentiveness, unfortunately.

    $10.95: Chicken Saag

I stopped by Bombay Grill on a 1pm on a Tuesday to grab a quick bite to eat. When I arrived, it was just me and a couple who appeared to be regulars at Bombay Grill. During this time, they definitely do more take-out orders. The interior seems like a place trying hard to be classy but failing. The pink theme is a shade that can get tacky (like commercial Valentine's Day). Saag is my favorite Indian dish so I had to order a chicken saag ($10.95). While I was waiting for my food, they brought complimentary papadum with the trio of sauces. As others have mentioned, the serving sizes are on the smaller side. If you're hungry, you probably need to fill up on the rice. The saag was unique. All of the other times I've have saag in my life, I can tell that I'm eating a spinach puree. This saag was on the liquidy side (i.e. no chunks of spinach) and the flavor was nothing like I've tasted before. Luckily, I'm a big curry fan so there are very few flavors I won't eat. That being said, I don't think I'd order it again. Chicken here also is a tad on the drier side. However, that doesn't matter as much since it's in curry. The man running the front of the house provided me with excellent service (hence the 4 stars instead of 3). I'm not exaggerating when I say he treated me like a VIP. He did multiple check-backs, refilled my water, and gave me a complimentary dessert (saffron rice pudding). He was the sweetest! I felt welcome at Bombay Grill and would go back to review their other dishes.

I prefer those over the usual chicken tikka masala - although that's always good. If you order lunch, the lunch box has more variety but less of the main course. So if you want just one main dish, it's better to go without a box lunch option and just choose a standard lunch deal.

The decor and vibe of this place is so vibrant and beautiful, it instantly puts you in a good mood. I came here for a solo dinner during restaurant week which was a pretty good deal. Most of the patrons seem like they were neighborhood locals which I love to see. I would say based on the flavors and the people dining here that this restaurant is more of a gentrified desi place than authentic. I found the flavors in most of the items I tried lacking. The fuchka prepared tableside is a nice touch, but again the marketing is geared more towards non-desi patrons. The fish fry was delicious and a good portion but more like a good British fish n chips cod filet than a desi fish fry with proper spices. Even the mustard served on the side was awfully bland with no spice whatsoever. While I can still appreciate the flavors, I will always be disappointed when an establishment trades authenticity to serve and coddle palettes that do not appreciate proper desi food. The lamb curry was very very good, and I specifically asked for it to be made spicy. Dining here felt like invading a curated space for non Indians, so I unapologetically ate the curry and rice with my hands to remind myself that yes, this is still our food even if it's muted. To the owners I say - do better and do not shy away from authentic flavors. This is afterall, New York freaking City. We are allowed to show up and showcase our cuisine with full masala, full spice and full heat - just the way God intended it to be.

All in all, it sounds like a pretty good deal, especially since free (and speedy!) delivery is offered with a $12 minimum. I was very excited for my lunch because I ordered samosas, which are one of my favorite things to eat. These samosas were comically large and quite delicious. The crust was crispy and robust enough to hold all the smooth filling of curried potatoes and peas without getting soggy. However, the accompanying condiments were so thinned out to the point that they weren't really sauces anymore, but rather colored water. The cucumber raita didn't taste like anything, nor did the spicy mint pesto. The tamarind chutney had a slight fruity tang to it, but lacked viscosity. Although my chicken tikka masala entree had generous portions of chicken, it tasted drier than cardboard. The rice was not very fluffy but the naan was superb. I realized my tongue started feeling weird and tingly after eating the entree. I'm not quite sure what could have caused this sensation but as I have a tree nut allergy, I suspect some cross-contamination may have occurred. Indeed I spent the rest of the afternoon and evening feeling rather poorly. Overall, I probably would give Halal Indian Food & Falafel one star for the overcooked (and possibly contaminated) entree. The watered down condiments were also not very appealing. What is the point in including chutneys and raita if they lack taste? I'll add one more star because the delivery service was efficient and the samosas and naan were not bad at all. However, those with food allergies should be a bit wary when ordering from this establishment.

This Slap Burger has a giant flatscreen, which does not seem setup for the World Cup only and seems great for a change of atmosphere one ordinarily would expect at a fast food burger spot. The menu is a little different for me and not altogether easy to interpret the way it is laid out. So I asked the young woman at the register to place an order for a double cheeseburger with bacon and everything on it to simplify it, along with an order of fries and their C&C cola. The taste of the burger was nothing extraordinary in my opinion, especially in a City with so many choice and highly competitive burger offerings. This was like so many smashed burgers that are all the rage these days. I have not been generally impressed by smashed burgers, so this review is admittedly biased. This offered little to no caramelized edges, which would be one of the big positives for a smashed burger. The slap sauce, which seems to be mustard and mayo with finely minced and blended relish as best I can tell, did not make the case either. The slap sauce was good, but it did not cause me to write home about it. They definitely give you bacon to justify the upcharge, but the cheese was lost in the slap sauce.
