    Chicken briyani
    Suo Z.

Ordered the chicken briyani for takeout, good portion, tasty and lots of flavor. Wish it came with more chicken, but at 6.99 you can't beat the price.

A large goat curry, buttered naan, gulab jamun and a side salad.
    Jessica K.

Curry was spicy and delicious as always (we come often). The naans are a little bit bigger than a paper plate and freshly made! We also ordered a vegetarian samosa that was yummy and flavorful.

    Achari chicken. It was amazing!

Be prepared to feel like you've been transported back to Pakistan, because that's exactly what this…read moreplace delivers. The food is some of the most authentic Pakistani cuisine I've had anywhere in New York, from the naan to the saag. If you're missing home, this restaurant is truly an experience. Don't get me wrong--the food is rich, generously cooked with oil, and probably not the healthiest option, but that's part of what makes Pakistani food so comforting and authentic. There's plenty of seating, making it a great spot to visit with family. There's almost always a line, but that's a good sign and a testament to how great the food is. The service is solid--they make sure you get what you need. The ambience is simple and functional, especially for a packed restaurant, but the focus here is clearly on the food. If you're craving real Pakistani flavors, this place is worth the visit.

The bathrooms were extremely dirty, with visible mold, damaged fixtures, and even poop marks left on the toilet bowl. Nobody seated us when we arrived. We were left trying to figure out where to sit because every table seemed to have an issue. One table had a shopping bag on it, chairs at another table were disorganized, and another table had not been cleaned after the previous customers had eaten. The service was just as disappointing. The person who took our order asked us three times what we had ordered--even though she had written the order down. She would serve one thing and ask again what was left now . All the food was practivalled dumped. Flies were flying around and actually landing on my food. The food itself was unacceptable. The aloo tikki appeared spoiled--the potato was sticky and had an acidic taste. When I complained, the server simply responded, "Hmm," and did nothing to address the issue. Then we found a human hair fried directly into the fish fry. Again, the server seemed completely unbothered and did nothing to resolve the situation. At that point, we stopped eating and asked for the bill. Despite the poor experience, the server reminded us to leave a tip. We did leave one, but I explained that tipping is meant to reflect good service and that we were very unhappy with the service we received. Her response was simply, "Koi nahi." We were still charged the full price, along with the tip and an additional 3% credit-card fee. Overall, the combination of the extremely dirty conditions, poor service, spoiled food, a hair fried into the fish, flies landing on the food, and the complete lack of concern when we complained made this a very disappointing experience. An absolute Dumpster .. cant imagine how dirty the kitchen after seeing the bathtoom

I love tasting new restaurants and wanted to stop by this place . Fantastic location . Right in the heart of Lexington Avenue . Lots of other restaurants nearby. Lots of space inside to sit and eat . Even though the ambience is not that great , it's ok for a quick lunch .. service could be better. All guys go inside the kitchen and hardly come out . Wish they had a bell or something in the counter outside for the customers to call them . Sometimes you keep waiting for many minutes before they come out . For the price , food was good . They have many food items on display and we chose some curries .. quantity was good . Naan , white rice and 2 non veg curries for 13.50$. Not bad. ... goat curry was good . Perfect Lahori taste . Chicken curry was average . Could have tasted better . My only issue is presentation. The y just mix all curries in rice and they are smashed all across the plate . Wish they give these curries in separate containers so we can enjoy the flavor of each curries . Another thing is they just reheat these curries . They are precooked . Sometimes with that , we wouldn't know if it is fresh . It tasted fresh though. Overall a good restaurant but giving them 3 stars . Will visit again and check and improve my ratings if needed

The Jani Burger was amazing, perfectly cooked, with great pakistani flavor, and it was refreshing not to have a smash burger for once. The lamb chops were also cooked to perfection, perfect medium rare, super tender and very flavorful. The Nihari sandwich was also great, however I wish there was a little more unique flavor to it. The masala fries are alright, but I'd say you can skip those. On top of the great food, this service was even better. The staff was so friendly, checking in on us and even offering us a free mango lassi drink. The restaurant itself is comfortably casual with heat lamps inside, which is nice to have on a cold day, I imagine. i definitely recommend!

We at this on the sidewalk so it was still fresh when we got it. But for us the food just didn't hit. I recognize it's fusion, but maybe the way things were meant to be balanced didn't mesh. The (impossible burger patty) lahori felt quite bland. Maybe because the burger patty was so thick, but it just kind of was overwhelmed by generic beef patty taste which wasn't what I was expecting. The nihari had some really good flavor, but I found the bread was somehow both quite dry and soggy at the same time. It's hard to describe, but I felt like it was working against the actual nihari flavor. Sadly I do think something like naan or basmati rice would've been better. The fries were pretty unremarkable, too. Just tasted like fries you'd get at your local bodega. I don't expect the wheel to be reinvented when it comes to fusion restaurants, but I just felt nothing actually balanced themselves well (at least for what we ordered). For $50 pre-tip, I'm a bit disappointed. This place has been on my hit list for a while, but I can't see myself wanting to go back. Staff was friendly and the space, albeit small, can fit groups of 2-4 pretty easily. I have a few friends that really like this place, so maybe I'm just the odd one out.

We ordered Gol Gappay, lamb biryani, Gosht Karahi, and a naan. The Gol Gappay was interesting. Crispy shells filled with chickpeas and potato, with a tangy, salty, savory flavor. Adding a little yogurt balanced it out nicely. Definitely something different. The lamb biryani was around the low teens price-wise and came in a huge portion with plenty of meat. The lamb was slightly dry -- felt like it may have been prepared earlier and kept warm -- but still flavorful and within expectations for the price. The standout for us was the Gosht Karahi. Tender but slightly chewy lamb, very savory and well seasoned, with lots of large chunks of meat. It looks a bit pricey at first, but considering how much meat you actually get, it felt like a solid value. We packed up half of it and still thought the leftovers were more generous than some restaurants' fresh servings. The naan was massive. Good flavor, although it didn't have that super fresh-out-of-the-tandoor smoky char. Funny enough, reheating it in the air fryer at home made it even better. One thing to know: every dish here runs large, so this place is better with a group. There are parking spots in front, but not many.

Inedible Signature Dish, Shockingly Unprofessional Service, and Zero Empathy…read more We visited this restaurant based on strong recommendations, hoping for a memorable family dinner. Unfortunately, after paying a $221 bill, this turned out to be one of the worst dining experiences we have ever had. While the karai was a redeeming bright spot, the signature nihari was completely disappointing--resembling a heavy, generic spicy curry rather than traditional nihari, and ultimately left uneaten. However, the food was secondary to the appalling level of service. In all our years of dining out, we have never witnessed staff physically clearing plates and food from a table while guests were still in the middle of eating. It is a fundamental breach of basic hospitality and respect. Compounding this, we were dining with our children, including a child with autism who was having a genuinely difficult moment. Given that management is reportedly well aware of these parenting challenges, the complete lack of patience, empathy, or professional grace from the staff was deeply disheartening. A $221 bill should at the very least guarantee a baseline standard of customer care and human decency. Regrettably, due to the total failure in service and professionalism, this was our first and last visit.
