This is my go to place for freshly made Indian delectables. Desserts and snacks hold a special place in every indians heart. This place hits the spot with it's freshly made variety of Indian sweets and snack items. I walked in here on a busy Saturday morning and ordered a Chaat item to try. The Chaat tasted fresh and reminded me of home. One of the better places in the Milwaukee area

Bombay Sweets has been a favorite go-to for quick Indian vegetarian food for years. Most recently, we got four orders of chole bhatura, with side orders of saag paneer and dal makhani. The chole bhatura was excellent. We also picked up a pound of gajar ki burfi (carrot burfi) for dessert, which is a nut-free burfi alternative. For years, this also has been our go-to spot for ordering samosas for parties or as a potluck dish. We've been here multiple times over the years to grab a quick meal before shopping for groceries next door. I recommend this as a consistently tasty place for Indian snacks, desserts, and to satisfy that craving for Indian food.

Did uber eats from bombay sweets and ordered pav bhaji. I received burnt pav ( bread) with curry of potato and peas... how disappointing! being an Indian restaurant how can you do that and serve your customers such food... also the curry was so spicy that I had to throw food. Total wastage of money!!

Bombay sweets is definitely home away from home! I got food and snacks from them everytime I miss Mumbai. They have a very friendly staff and help in understanding that the different snacks and sweets are. Try their fresh samosas and street food snacks, your taste buds will be in a food coma. I got my diwali spread from them and BOY! did they nail it with the taste, colors and freshness! Their food pick up is efficient and they follow all Covid and social distancing protocols.

I love that they took the time to make items for me without dairy to vegan. I am allergic to dairy and they took the time to make dishes allergen free for me. I love Indian food, the herbs, and the spices, but I have not been able to eat it in years. This place is amazing. Download the app, it's worth it.

I tried their platter, almond milk dessert, and Mango Lassi and they were delish! I would recommend this to everyone. You don't have to be a vegetarian to love their food. They have a massive selection of food, drinks, and dessert, and have been around for almost two decades. Best of all they are affordable and cheaper than all the Indian restaurants I have been to. I will only make a comment about their platewear, utensils, straws, and cups, they all came in disposables which are not environmentally sustainable. Styrofoams and no. Recyclable plastics are. It good for the environment. Other than that the food is great! Bring your own straws and utensils :)

    The desserts here are delish!

I absolutely LOVE Bombay Sweets. Hands down, this is one of my favorite go-to spots in the area and I've been coming here for years. I'd like to think of this place as a real "no frills, all flavor" sort of place. It's chill, hella down-to-earth, and totally lunch or diner-esque. It's great. Grab a (cheap) date, your best buds, or your whole darn soccer team and get your grub on! (Done, done, and yes, done!) I feel like I'm slowly working my way through the menu (wait, I mean I ACTUALLY am) and everything I've ordered thus far I've enjoyed. Some dishes are definitely spicier than others and that's to be expected so I take it with a grain of salt (actually, take it with a mango lassi, you're welcome). What do I suggest trying? Samosa! Samosa! Samosa! $0.75 a pop? Yas! Doooooo it! That's what I'm talkin about! OK, other than samosas, here are some good "starting point" suggestions...#26, #25 (soup that comes with it is on the spicy side), #31, and #34. And if you have any suggestions for me, let me know! Did I mention the Mango lassi is amazing? Lol. Mmmmhm yes, you get the point? Did I say it also helps me to soothe the spice a little?! OK, ok, moving on... Some things to note: They will walk you through almost anything while being pretty patient. You can get anything ordered to-go! Pronto! You can even order online like through yelp! Sometimes restaurant.com has a deal for this place (ex. $20 of food at Bombay Sweets for $10). Winning! They have a TON of sweet and savory snacks/desserts lined up in glass cases for you to drool over and order. You can get the sweet and savory snacks packaged up and even gift boxes if you need (those are separate). All of their main meals are pretty much between $5-7. See? I told you, cheap date! OK, one last thing. It's not so good. But try not to hold it against them...They use styrofoam. It sucks but it's what they use. I'm sure it helps keep their cost down and all but, *long dramatic sigh* yeah...kind of a bummer but the food is worth it. Trust me. If it still bothers you, you can get creative and take your styrofoam home. Make an art project. Feel better.

Great Indian food! The place has zero atmosphere, but the prices are amazing. You can get a decent sized meal for less than $5.00

Our server, Adam, was quick and attentive. He was funny, suggested items for us to try, and was very tentative of our friend's food allergy. We started the night with a few drinks; #39 non-alcoholic Paloma, #129 non-alcoholic sbagiato, and #33 Sherry Pear-Y. All of which were absolutely amazing! Then we ordered the Chili Crisp Deviled Eggs (comes with two pieces), Crispy Thai-Style Oyster Mushrooms, Cappelletti, Slow-braised Bison Cheek, Cha Ca La Vong (Catfish), and the Wood-fired Bavette Steak. Where do I begin? First off, everything was fantastic! Delicious, creative, and memorable. Some dishes even had us ordering seconds! First the Chili Crisp Deviled Eggs: so creamy! We ended up ordering another plate of them (four orders) because one wasn't enough for the four of us. The Crispy Thai-Style Oyster Mushroom: insanely seasoned! It was crispy and the kick of the Thai chili peppers, made it our tables favorite (we ordered another plate of this)! The bits of crunch rice mixed in was also a pleasant surprise. The bits of green beans and cucumber was a nice way to cool the kick of the spices. The Slow-braised Bison Cheek: It was very interesting. Very soft and when paired with the polenta cake, mozzarella, and carrot, it tasted amazing. Cha Ca La Vong (Catfish): Also very interesting. It tastes very similar to a Vietnamese catfish soup! The pineapple fish sauce paired amazing with the glass noodles. The only complaint I have about this dish, was that the glass noodles weren't fully cooked, so they were a bit hard. The Wood-fired Bavette Steak: My god, this was amazing! It was perfectly cooked, the dark chocolate bordelaise paired with the mushrooms and steak was incredible. Like I said, everything was amazing! Our table was blown away with the creativity and quality of the food. The service was amazing, everyone was very sweet and helpful. The atmosphere was lovely and quirky. It was fun spotting all the duck decorations. Honestly, cannot rave enough about this place, I look forward to the next time I visit!

While the sandwiches are on the pricier side, the meal was well worth it. Each sandwich comes with a very generous portion of fries, which added to the value. The Bánh Mì sandwich was incredible. I have had this numerous times here and it has always been my favorite! the baked beans are just a little sweet n tangy, the eggs are however you like them cooked, and the mushrooms at a bit of earthy flavor. If you have ever been to England, the only difference is there is no white or black sausage here. I don't exactly like it so I am glad the sausage here is more like a broiled regular one. The London fog here is the ONLY one I like in MKE! They always put just the right amount of vanilla syrup and milk in it. Most places end up making it super sweet but this place is PERFECT! They were excited we were there, and our server (or maybe it was the host) confirmed we had stumbled into the "best restaurant in Milwaukee." Okay! The cocktail menu was adventurous, and the Rickety Skeleton I ordered (that's a cocktail name...no actual bones were brought to the table) was truly delicious and did the job of making me very happy. I'm a sucker for mezcal or anything smoky, and this lived up to my Southern California standards for such a creation. The service was outstanding and super friendly. The atmosphere was great too...We might have been able to get a table if we walked in, but the place was almost full (so lively vibe), and glad we had a reservation. The food was good. Overall, I thought almost everything we got was a bit oversalted, which distracted me from what might have been the unique flavors of the dishes. We shared Mushroom Fricassee - might as well get a restaurant name-sake dish. It looked beautiful, but the mushrooms were a bit too salty. The Ricotta Gnudi was gorgeous and tasted good, especially with the pea mint broth it rested on...but this also felt a little salt-heavy. We also shared bread service, which may have been my favorite part of what we got...several different house-made breads with, very salty butter. I love a good salted butter, but even this seemed like a little too much. I'm not against salt, but it just felt like it killed what could have been truly elevated flavors in these dishes. We closed with Almond Goat Cheese Cheesecake...I mean, how could we not...this was perfect. We appreciated a lot about Morel and are glad we went, but wish the dishes we got were a little less salt-heavy.

It truly felt like a fine dining experience without the fine dining cost. The staff member who served us was delightfully friendly, welcomed us so warmly, and took the time to provide not just service, but a guided experience through the dining journey. Their menu has what appear to be hand-drawn watercolor images on it and it looks like a fancy cookbook (in the style of Salt Fat Acid Heat)! The location is unassuming, but everything inside appears to be so thoughtfully decorated. At the recommendation of our server, we had the Mont Hin Ga (soup) and the Tea Leaf Salad. I was so full, but finished that soup to the very last drop. Tea Leaf Salad is such a unique blend of flavors and textures. The occasional burst of tomato and the crunchy tidbits in it make each bite such a surprise. YUM! Because you only live once, we also had the chicken curry with coconut rice and an iced tamarind juice. Who can say no to coconut rice? And the chicken? So tender, so juicy, so flavorful. I have always been a fan of tamarind, but this is one of the best "aguas de tamarindo" that I have ever had. Hats off to their host for being friendly and even a little entertaining and I like that you can order coffee at the register area and drink it while you wait. Too bad you can't get a cocktail out there. The menu sounded great and we were ravenous so we were excited to order. By the time we were seated we were limited to about 40 minutes to get to a ticketed event, all in. I told that to our waitress so she could pace the meal accordingly. While I understand that she can't control the kitchen time, I don't think she showed any expediency or attention to my statement. Spoiler alert - we were late. Two of us ordered the biscuits to start with jam. I was happy to try them and they were good. My coffee based martini hit the spot, but it was spilled a little when it hit the table and our server didn't say anything or wipe it off. My mom liked her bloody Mary and it was decent. When our food came I was immediately disappointed by the appearance. My chilaquiles looked like they had sat under a heat lamp for ages - the egg was dried and over firm. My chips were spicy, but 100% soggy and nasty. My black beans were - meh. Not a good dish overall. My mom actually didn't find fault with her Honeypie Benedict. I tried the hollandaise and it was fine. My cousin did not enjoy her Hopple Popple skillet at all. (Potatoes, bacon, caramelized onion, mushroom, bell pepper, cheddar, two scrambled farm eggs) She found it difficult to find any egg, as it was apparently shrunk into tiny bits. The potatoes were like fries and it was overall bland. Not a winner. We certainly won't be back. The dishes don't live up to the interesting descriptions of them and the hype seems to be from an earlier, better time for this restaurant.
