Went for lunch before my flight out of MKE. The reviews were spot on! I had the Friday Fish Fry and some of best breading I've eaten! The main reason for the review was the Coconut Key Lime Pie. Your diabetes will thank you. Get it.

I love the vibe of this place. It's cute and cozy and makes you want to eat comfort food! My cousin and I recently came here for a quick dinner. We both had the Chicken and Biscuit pie. It was good although the biscuit was really huge. I love the crusty top, but maybe could use a little more of the stew part of it. She loved it and pretty much finished the whole thing. Service was fast and friendly. Great recommendations, so I want to come back when I have more time and more room for dessert! Oh yeah - don't forget to peruse the little shop area in the front of the restaurant. My cousin found some great Christmas gifts for her daughters and her friends - all locally made!

Admittedly, I am not a huge pie person (I know, I know...) but when I come here, all of that goes out of the window. When I come to Honeypie, not only do I have a difficult time choosing just one but I love every single bite of whatever I choose! The selection is always epic, between fruit pies, chocolate pies and unique flavors of the week/ season. This visit I chose the lemon blueberry because it was the end of summer and wanted something fruity and I wasn't sure this summery flavor would be available if I were to visit in the fall or winter months. Of course, it was perfect. Crust was light and flaky with exploding blueberry and lemon flavor in each bite. Although I came here for pie after dinner, I somehow had room to finish every last crumb of my pie. I've also been here for brunch (bar service) where nothing was less than perfect and exactly what I would hope for in my brunch experience. The bar staff is also fun, friendly and speedy, no matter when you're here. Honeypie is one of my favorites and should actually visit more to taste more of the pie flavors I drool over when I do visit!

Beautiful restaurant experience at Honeypie Cafe. The front bar area is gorgeous with a true cafe vibe. Art and decor surrounding the dining area is also very cool to be around. My party and I stopped in for a quick lunch and had a great time. Friendly service and good food made our day! Had the chorizo melt special which was fantastic! Others in our group were pleased with the omelette and mac and cheese as well!

Tried Honeypie for breakfast with friends and had a great experience! We came on a Saturday around 10am and only had a 15-20 min wait. The food was amazing- my friends said it was "one of the best breakfast burritos ever". I love their coffee and also enjoyed my ham/egg croissant breakfast sandwich- lots of flavor! The wait staff was extremely kind to us and very attentive, which I appreciated! Overall a very cute vibe. Not pictured below, but we tried a slice of their specialty honey pie which was SO good! Very different than any pie I've had before so would definitely recommend trying it out. Definitely will be coming back :)

Love love love all things Honeypie Pies. Stopped here a few weeks ago to celebrate my birthday, our new tradition. Sat at the counter and the staff was friendly and engaging. The cream pies are always on point. My fav is the black bottom banana cream pies. Don't ask what it is. Just get here and try it. They also host pie making classes out of a different bay view kitchen so they will even teach you their craft. It is all a super enjoyable experience.

Excellent brunch! Would highly recommend to any one looking for a cozy spot. The place is so lively with all the unique decorations. It was nice to be seated immediately, I would recommend being early as it gets pretty busy. Have been here twice and I've only tried their brunch, but everything has been delicious! My favorite is the Chilaquiles and the Nutella pie

What a vibe!!! This place has such an adorable cafe/diner atmosphere. It is fun, welcoming, and cozy. The service was friendly and quick. They offer comfort foods - highly recommend the burger (SO juicy and flavorful) and the Pesto chicken salad sandwich (so so fresh and full of flavor) . The fries were crispy. The side salad was so fresh, and I loved the ranch! It wasn't super creamy and they didn't drown the salad in dressing. As far as pies, you have to get one! Our group got the strawberry rhubarb, salted caramel, mixed berry, cookies and creme, and chocolate and we loved them all! Highly recommend coming here.

Came here by myself and sat at the bar. Got their Lavender Cream iced coffee with oatmilk--so delicious! Then their breakfast casserole--quite good! Would have liked it with a bit more gravy cause the biscuit was so thick but overall pretty good. It was very modern inside and had a chill vibe to it. I had a really great waiter and spent barely any time waiting as they were quick to close me out ! Would definitely come back when I'm feeling some breakfast food

Made yet another trip to Honeypie, this time for lunch. It has yet to disappoint! The macaroni and cheese was gooey, creamy, and delicious. The additions of the bacon, toasted bread crumbs, and ribboned green onion really made the dish dynamic -- plenty of textural interest that you don't always get with your run-of-the-mill mac and cheese. At $18 it was a little pricey for an entreé, and though it was delicious, I might try something else in the future. The Bay View Breeze mocktail was to die for. The flavor combination of pineapple, ginger, lime, and mint worked exquisitely. Once again, a little pricey at $7 for just a mocktail, but I might just catch myself ordering it again. For dessert we went with the salted honey pie, per the recommendation of our server, and it was hands down the best pie I have ever had. The custardy filling was held together by a perfectly buttery and flaky crust. The brûléed top added depth to contrast the sweetness and the whipped cream was just the right touch to round it all out. Our server Rin (Ryn?) was spectacular. They were always attentive and friendly and knew the menu well enough to offer some top notch suggestions. Honeypie Cafe is not cheap, but you really are paying for quality. Both the interior and the patio seating make for an ambient experience and I've never had a bad server. Be prepared to spend upwards of $50 (before tax and tip) for two people. And whatever you do, don't skip out on dessert. The pie truly is amazing and worth the $9/slice price tag.

Wow I have not been here since they moved to a new space and apparently that is already 5 years ago now! The new space is open and spacious and has a great vibe. The bar is open and bright. Honestly would've sat there if I didn't go with my family. I ordered my usual - pork fries and pie. The pork fries hit the spot as usual although they now serve it in a bowl where it used to be on a plate. The is impacts the longevity of the fries crispyness. Still just as dense and heavy and plenty for a meal on its own. I also has the breakfast casserole with my nephew and wow that was flavorful and heavy too. Be prepared to take food home here! The gravy in the casserole was delicious and the biscuit was not dry. Wish the ratio was a bit less biscuit though. Pies are always good no specific notes except get yourself a slice.

    - delicious food, good service, cozy ambiance - no…read morereservation can be made for brunch - excited to come back for a sweet option Happy to get a seat at this tasty diner! With their rotating menu items and weekly specials, I am definitely coming back after having such a flavorful and fun meal. Waited about an hour on a busy Saturday since one of their locations was closed, but the food was well worth it! I had gotten Wolfie's Patty Melt and it was filling and a great start to our morning. The bread was nice and crisp from the buttered griddle and held everything together perfectly. Inside the crunchy sandwich were 2 seasoned patties and enough gooey cheese to make it rich, but not heavy. To contrast the fatty flavor, there was a slightly tart bacon jam and onions that were truly caramelized. Overall really tasty sandwich with no notes! In the description it says there is a sauce, but I could only taste the onions and jam, so I'm not too sure what it added. The side of fries was ok, but I think some crispy thinner ones would have been better with the sandwich. For my drink, I got a hot Ube Chai. The chai was strong and had a spicy kick to each sip. Already a subtle flavor, the ube was not very strong with the chai mixed in, but still added fun color. The design on top was also very cute and added another dink of sweetness. My girlfriend got the Spamelette for her main and it was pretty pretty and delish. Not too often that you see Spam, but when you see it, trust it earned its spot on a menu! The big chunks of Spam and accouterments gave each bite a pleasant feel and one full of flavor. I was skeptic of the mushrooms at first, but they were seasoned well and added another kind of texture to the meal. I think my favorite toppings were the drizzle of kewpie and the green onions... not sure if it counts as a topping, but the tamari glaze of the spam made it delish. Taste aside, it was also a pretty meal! Pook got a Hot Chocolate for her drink. Nice simple drink for the cold weather. We would have liked to see some more chocolatey flavor, but still a good milky drink for the meal. This drink also had a fun design and nice cream top, yum yum yum. This was such a tasty meal and they have lots of other options that I was debating on getting - I guess we gotta come back! It was a really cold day, but the cozy atmosphere and hot drinks with our food made it a great experience. We had originally planned on going to the Downtown location, but it was closed because of heating problems. I wish there was a bit more uniformity between their menus, especially since the Brewers Hill menu has different items and is smaller, so it feels like there is quite the difference between locations. Going off of that point, I am excited to try their dinner menu when it releases and see how it compares to when we ate Downtown! I am not sure how the places differ, but I felt the food here to be more flavorful than the other location. In addition to the dining area, they had a small shop and coffee area in the back while you waited for your table. It was fun and made time pass faster, but I feel as though that area is also perfect for dining. Maybe there are specific reasons why it isn't, but just a thought. Hope to come back soon!

When we arrived (about two hours after opening), we were quoted a 1.5-hour wait. Not totally surprising given how popular the spot is, but definitely something to plan around. We've skipped it in the past because we were too hungry to wait, and honestly, that might still be a factor for future visits. The space itself is cozy and on the smaller side, with the bar area taking up a good portion of the restaurant. It has a lively atmosphere, but because it was completely packed and music was playing, it got pretty loud, loud enough that it was hard to hear each other at times, and even a bit difficult to catch everything our server was saying. That said, the waitstaff were friendly and doing their best in a busy environment. As for the food and drinks, definitely the highlight. We ordered an ube latte and a chai, both of which were enjoyable. The standout dish was the breakfast burger with bacon jam. It was fantastic, rich, messy, and indulgent in the best way. The bacon jam added just the right amount of sweetness to balance out the savory, greasy goodness, and I was completely on board with it. We also ordered a few of their breakfast plates, which came with massive smashed potatoes. Overall, Uncle Wolfie's delivered on flavor and vibe, but the long wait and noise level might make us think twice about when we go back. I'd definitely return, but ideally during a less busy time. Otherwise, if I'm starving and don't want to wait, I might end up trying somewhere else.

I ended up calling in an order to go, substituting wheat bread for the rye, and also added a piece of lemon ginger coffee cake. The lemon ginger coffee cake tasted fine, but man was it dry. Like Sahara Desert dry. Maybe this was an anomaly and their other baked goods are better, but I'd be hesitant to try them based on this coffee cake. Even though the website says the side is potato pancakes with applesauce, my fish fry came with fries. They ended up being the best part of the meal, which I certainly wasn't expecting. Still, I was disappointed cause I prefer potato pancakes and was given their inclusion as an expectation. The wheat bread itself was ok, but the butter was oddly unsalted. The fish, of which there was three pieces, was battered with a hint of beer, but like the butter for the bread there was no salt to speak of in the batter. As much as I didn't enjoy the unsalted butter for the bread, not having salt in the batter for the fish managed to be more unpleasant. Maybe Blue's Egg should just stick with serving breakfast items instead of adding something temporary that they clearly aren't pros at.

I surprisingly don't have many options in my "MKE - Fish Fry" collection that are near downtown, but Swinging Door Exchange was one of them. I was pressed for time, so I placed a to go order rather than dining in. I got the combo fish fry (two pieces of cod, two pieces of perch, and three fried shrimp) with potato pancakes. I was also very easily talked into the half rack rib appetizer. The ribs were good, even though I prefer sauce that's more sweet and smokey. Their sauce was on the tangy side with a tease of spice that really only became noticeable when the majority of the half rack was gone. If I were in the mood for ribs as my main meal, I'd consider getting theirs as an entree. The two potato pancakes weren't homemade; instead, they were premade hash brown patties that some other restaurants also serve with their fish frys. These were perfectly acceptable in lieu of homemade pancakes. The cod tasted great, but the breading didn't hold up very well. Either the fish itself was too wet or the two block walk back to my car allowed for condensation to wreck it or possibly both. The perch was not yellow lake perch but probably something like pike perch. Even though both kinds of fish and the shrimp were all good sized portions, $29 feels like a lot. I wouldn't say no to it, though, if I were dining in next time and avoid the extra cost of their takeout fee. Shout-out to the bartenders working that night. The bar area was absolutely packed, but both of the ones I talked to about placing my order were friendly and helpful even with being super busy.
