My son amd I were hankering for Indian food, so while we were in the area, we decided to give Bombay Tadka a try. The restaurant is a little out of the way, tucked into what feels like a medical-office strip mall -- but do not judge this book by its cover! Step inside and the atmosphere changes completely. The restaurant is warm and inviting, filled with the wonderful aromas of Indian cuisine. The place was surprisingly busy for 2:30 on a Saturday afternoon, which turned out to be a pretty good sign. We were greeted with a friendly smile and quickly shown to our seats. The drink menu had plenty of options, while the food menu was especially helpful, with pictures and descriptions that give you a good idea of what to expect. Curries, cream sauces, spices -- plenty to choose from for just about any taste. I always appreciate a menu that helps you anticipate the flavors you're about to experience. My son opted for the butter chicken, while I went with the coconut curry lamb. We also ordered two servings of butter naan. The food arrived promptly and was excellent. Rich, flavorful and exactly what we were hoping for. The sauces were fantastic, the flavors did not disappoint, and that butter naan didn't stand much of a chance! The staff checked on us during the meal without being intrusive and made sure everything was to our liking. It absolutely was. As we finished, one of the staff members stopped by while clearing our plates and struck up a conversation, asking whether we were locals and what had brought us in. When we told him we were, he offered several suggestions for dishes we should try next time and mentioned that they have a Sunday buffet, which is a great opportunity to sample different foods and discover some new favorites. Bombay Tadka is absolutely worth finding and stopping in. Don't let the unassuming location fool you. If you like -- or love -- Indian cuisine, this place is a diamond in the rough! We were heading to Chesapeake bay and stopped at Bombay Tadka for dinner. It is a small cozy restaurant that seems to be the only Indian restaurant in the neighborhood. First trip for takeaway. Really good naan! Which is surprisingly hard to find at Indian joints in the area. Really good tikka masala and butter chicken. Asked for it very mild since it was our first trip - that was too mild. Next time we'll try medium or maybe even spicy! Chicken breast on both dishes was juicy and perfectly sized. As someone who has spent a great deal of time in Manchester, I'll say with certainty, Bombay Tadka ranks as EXCELLENT. I don't know what food Erlesha thinks she had, but I'm guessing she's reviewed the wrong restaurant, or she has a bee in her bonnet over something. Our visit started with friendly and outgoing service, and it went uphill from there. Flavor in the curries was very well developed and had great depth. The meat, especially lamb, was butter soft and rates as some of the best I've been served. Vindaloo, Kolhapuri, and Chettinad dishes were delicious. The garlic nan was superb. Palak Chaat (Crispy spinach with date & yogurt sauce) was new to me, recommended by our server, and surprising and wonderful, and I could eat the Onion Pakoda all day long. My friend took me to this restaurant and It's fantastic!!! We come here as much as we can since he is vegan and they have plenty of selections for anyone. Felt adventurous today and deviated from my go-to Butter chicken or chicken tikka masala; I got Chicken Chettinad per host recommendation. It was good; I would order again. Instead of Naan, the host also recommended that I get Paneer Kulcha, off menu; they had a special going when I visited. Think Naan that has butter, cilantro, and cheese inside; the cheese was described as "Indian cottage cheese". Very good, hope they add it to the menu. The ambiance was really nice. The restaurant was half full on a Tuesday night, but I saw a lot of to-go orders go out the door. The host was also serving all the tables, not sure if they were short staffed. Unfortunately, I have had better in other parts of Maryland and especially in DC. The staff and ambiance were okay. They were on a skeleton crew and it was small inside. Great food. I had the tikki masala and my boyfriend had the butter chicken. The sauce was so good, you can tell someone knows their spices very well. The chicken was bit dry though. This is a hidden gem not known to many prob cuz of the location. The food was amazing and it wasn't expensive. Gobi Manchurian(sweet and spicy cauliflower) is a must!
