I have nothing negative to say about our lunch experience at Indian. I was pleasantly surprised by the food and didn't expect such goodness in the heart of Brandywine. We went in on a weekday, hoping that the lunch buffet was running at that time. It was not, but the à la carte items we ordered were really amazing. We had garlic naan, lamb vindaloo, and chicken tikka masala. I know chicken tikka can be considered very basic, but I have to be honest. This is one of the more flavorful ones I've had in years, and definitely one of the best I've had in this area. The lamb vindaloo was good, but the chicken tikka masala was definitely better and more flavorful. In total, I think we spent $50-$60. Definitely a little bit on the higher side, but totally worth it. At the end of our meal, they gave us coupons for our next visit. The service was great, too. Our server was extremely attentive, but not bothersome. I definitely want to get back here on a weekend to try the buffet. I would highly recommend. Parking was pretty easy outside, and the inside was very calm. Definitely not a dressy place, but you could pull up in like work attire and not look like you stand out. Great food and great service I ordered online and they gave me a 5% discount which was unexpected and very nice. It took about 30 minutes for my food to be given to me but everything is made to order here. My food was still pipping hot by the time that I made it home which was a 15 minute drive. I had the lamb biriyani and it was tender and well seasoned. The rice was also made very well with the right amount of spices. This dish is a bit spicy as a forewarning. Our waitress was Nattu and she was very attentive to our needs. The wife ordered Lamb Saag which was tasty and the lamb was cooked perfectly. I ordered the Goat Tikka Masala. The sauce had good flavor and the goat was nicely seasoned. The goat was a little chewy. The manager came to our table and checked on our experience. He advised us about their weekend brunch and all the different dishes they will be serving. Nattu also talked up the weekend brunch. Not my bowl of curry. I love exotic food spots, but something was just off for me. The service was immaculate. The staff is very welcoming and friendly. There were several tables of people eating. They seemed to enjoy their food. My husband and I ordered a goat dish and a lamb dish. I did not like how my food was all mixed in together I assumed I was ordering goat with a side of rice and veggie. It all came mixed together. My husband's lamb had a bad smell and taste so he did not eat it. Instead he ate my food. I wish the server would have done a better job of explaining the menu options to us as we did ask him a few questions to make sure we were ordering something we'd enjoy. The pita was burnt and not appealing. I guess overall this visit was a no for me. I did mention my experience to an associate and she said she loves Indian and I may have ordered something that's not their specialty. We went on a Monday around 515. It was completely empty. The waitress was so pleasant and patient. I believe Happy hour is 3-6. Some drinks are $5. I ordered a mojito. About a 2-2.5: We had come here several times for their Sunday-only lunch buffet, even knowing that the price point was a little higher than the typical NoVA establishments. The food selection has been pretty consistent, in which I usually focus on the samosas, the pakora, the chili chicken, the butter chicken, hakka noodles, and the masala chai. However, these items have either been room temperature or on the colder end, even though we usually show up right when they open. I feel like either the food is prepared way in advance or just slightly 'heated through'... Staff are friendly and efficient, but it does take some time to get our waters refilled or get another basket of naan. The naan, however, is made-to-order, so you're going to be receiving a hot batch, each and every time. I'm not sure if it's under new management but the food has definitely become more and more bland! I have been many many times and bring my family in often. The food is good and usually service is warm and kind. However, when I talked with the gentleman who answered the phone this time he screamed at me when I asked him about an item ingredients. He told me never to call again. It was bizarre and angry and really ruined the restaurant for me. Shame, because we come at least once a week usually. I am updating the revising the review below and the 2 star rating that I left yesterday 9/7/2025. They owner, Kumar, reached out to me via phone on 9/7/2025 expressing genuine sentiment regarding my unfortunate experience. I so appreciated this. I explained how mistakes do and can happen and that it was important to have been heard and not being told by wait staff that it never happened before further implying that my not going to the hospital meant that it was of no consequence. Kumar informed the cook - this is who was responsible for the spoiled meat making it to my plate. I know of 2 men that have olfactory challenges thus, a cook that doesn't smell meat before cooking it, can result in a customer with food poisoning for lack of a better word. I will dine here again but it will be a minute. I took a friend there to eat on 9/6/2025. I got quite ill! I called to inform the establishment and was asked if I went to the emergency room to which I responded no, I took Pepto Bismol. I felt as though they were unwilling to own the possibility that I received a tainted piece of meat in my dish. It was the only food that I consumed that day. I would give this 3.5 if I could. We were the only diners in the restaurant at 6:30 on a Friday night. The staff were friendly and attentive. The restaurant was small but comfortable. The free app of crisps and sauces was a nice start. We had Samosas and Chicken Stuffed Naan for apps. The Samosa was the best thing I ate all night. I didn't care for the chicken stuffed naan. We ordered Okra Masala, Curried Salmon, and a seafood rice dish that was on the back of the menu and started with Indish. All of the dishes looked pretty but the okra had very little seasoning, and the salmon was cooked well but the dish was bland. The seafood rice dish was pretty good. All in all, we had a nice meal out and if we are in Brandywine we might give it another try. read more

My boyfriend and I had brunch here this past Sunday. I heard about them from posts on Facebook and Instagram. They are located in a strip mall, with parallel parking in front, and plenty of parking behind the restaurant. I made reservations on their site about two hours before we arrived, for 11:30 AM, which is when they opened. We were the first patrons of the establishment, which we loved, since it is a buffet. We were greeted with a warm welcome and seated immediately. Nobody asked about a reservation, the place was empty so I understand that. We were immediately asked to enjoy the buffet while they went to get iced water and garlic naan for the table. You get a choice of plain or garlic naan when you arrive. Endless amounts, but you have to ask your waiter to bring more; it's not a buffet item. Upon tasting the food, I was immediately transported back to my time in Chennai, India. The food tasted authentic and we enjoyed every bit of it. The dessert table featured several custards and Gulab Jamun, which I enjoy. I liken it to a donut hole, but soaked in super sweet syrup. If you have never had it, one or two is enough because it is over-the-top sweet. This is not your typical brunch where you should expect bottomless mimosas, or juices, such as orange or pineapple. The only offerings were hot chai tea (which was very good), a smoothie, and iced tea. We decided to stick with water. They had great customer service, understandably so, since the restaurant is very small. It's not fancy, but we enjoyed it. They do have a bar where you can order drinks as well. The bar area is very tiny, but I didn't see one lady sitting there ordering drinks and enjoying the buffet as well. They got really busy closer to 12:15 PM. The Sunday brunch buffet is only $22. Considering they have goat as a meat option, I would say that's a steal. I really don't understand how they can afford to have it at this price, but we were happy to oblige. Locals are happy to have more ethnic flair in our backyards. There are more than enough chicken wing, burger, & pizza joints. I was plotting on Indish for quite sometime & on a clear winter night we finally strolled in. I've returned several times since that fateful night. Systematically moving through the menu. So far, I've tried both the Tandoori chicken (topped w/red onion) and butter chicken entrees, samosas, vegetable fried rice, chickpeas, lentils, eggplant, & spinach. Their fresh baked garlic naan is quite possibly the most garlicky bread I've ever eaten. It's great but get plain naan if you're on a first date. The food is cooked to order so plan accordingly. We normally call in the order & pick up 25 minutes later. Indish also partners with local food Delivery services like Grub Hub, Door Dash, Food Scooter.net, etc. I didn't have the opportunity to dine in before the pandemic but I heard it was a festive time. I'd been hearing about Indish for quite a long time. I finally got to go -- meeting a friend for happy hour there. I went around 4:00 on a weekday -- a Thursday, I believe it was. It was very quiet in there! And there was some beepy thing at the door that was distracting. For everything I heard about the place, I was expecting it to be a little busier. But anyway, they start you off with a light appetizer that comes with sauces that's yummy -- I should've confirmed what it was, but it was airy and awesome! I did expect the service to be a little faster, sitting at the bar as I was. But I think everyone was relatively lax, given how quiet it was, so I don't want to critique too much based on that. I do know that I loved my samosas and their assortment of drinks -- good ones at that! I will return to try more things since I have friends who don't live far away. TBD! read more

We had our party catered by Indish. The food was delicious, greatly enjoyed by our guests. The restaurant even provided a few complimentary dishes, which were not only delicious but very much appreciated. Our server was very professional and polite and even went the extra mile to provide some things we were running short on. On the whole our family who is very particular about food were in awe of the service, quality and quantity of the entire catering. I would without a doubt rate Indish a TEN STAR if there was one ! The food definitely tastes good however, they are very stingy on the amount of meat they put in any dish. This will come back to bite them. Ha ha ha. Overall, I would say mediocre because the last thing you want to feel is that you charged for an entrée and have a dish full of curry with no meat.
