The first time I enjoyed drinner it was a wonderful experience. The food was terrific and they had belly dancers. Fun! Over Covid I got carry out many times. I still get carry out regularly. Food ridiculously good. So I always have several special requests. Can you imagine they always get it right. I am thrilled when my requests are honored. It says to me they appreciate their customers. My lover's cousin loves this place so we took her here for her birthday. The food is very good, especially that garlic naan. My only warning is that if you like things spicy, I had a heat level of 10 for my curry and I didn't even break a sweat. The atmosphere is nice and quiet with quick and attentive service. Service was terrible. We were practically the only patrons. Only 4 other people there. But the service was unbearably slow. The food finally arrived after about half an hour. If it had been crowded I could understand. But it was empty. Then they forgot to bring out the naan we ordered. The paneer, naan and eggplant dishes were delicious. But I ordered lamb kebabs. They were so dried out and burnt I could barely cut through the meat. I asked for a steak knife but they don't have any. I complained to the waiter and even showed how much meat was left and told him it was too well done and hard to cook. We didn't even want to take it home. He knew we were first time customers. But offered no money off the bill. When we were done eating we literally had to flag someone down for the bill. I only left a small tip. I didn't want to leave any tip at all. The food is good, and it would be better if it was consistent. That's the biggest issue. I've gotten some veggie dishes twice, and they tasted diff each time. They know how to make their food spicy though. I've asked for extra spicy food and they deliver on that. Putting kidney beans into dal makhani is normal but they should be crushed a bit more into the dal. Some veggie entrees taste like they just have pre made sauces and just add in different vegetables into a sauce. We usually do take out or delivery and there haven't been any issues with the temperature of the food. read more

REALLY really delicious garlic basil naan. They forgot to give me the garlic naan, so I couldn't compare them. The butter chicken was a few pieces of chicken in A LOT of soup. The Chana Masala was pretty good, no heat despite a middle number. I got takeout but the inside looks very clean and nice, and a pretty good spot for exclusive dining. Please take this review into consideration. It was my first time with my husband trying Sizzling Bombay and we found a hair in the chips and dip they give you when you first arrive. We did confront them and when they took the hair into the back we could hear everyone in the back laughing (no music was playing) they never came back to the table to say anything. HUGE OSHA VIOLATION!! They didn't give a fresh dip for the rest of the chips we had. No effort was made. I will never be going back. Nor is my parents anymore because they would always go. I was shocked by the way the server behaved with us after the meal. I went with my wife and kid for a buffet today and when the bill came they charged us for 3 full buffet. I asked him why three it is usually 2 full and 1 kids buffet, did the rules change. his reply was shocking. he said in front of my daughter and other guests that she eats more than a child and should eat less to be charged like a kid. he went on saying she is bigger for her age. what nonsense ?? When I asked for the manager he said no one is there I am the manager also. I asked for the owner or his wife who are generally there he refused. I asked him to call the owner who I believe is Chef Mahindra but he did not I told the other server and they did nothing. in fact he asked me to leave. food was okay but this attitude calls for a total boycott of the place insulting a child in totally uncalled for. my 6 plus year old daughter is ashamed and is asking is she too big or fat never go to this place read more

foods great, I've been ordering for years but the restaurant is failing at service. Used to give ample rice when ordering out but now they barely provide enough for a single curry dish. If I'm paying for multiple dishes of curry I'd expect to receive at least one container of rice per curry. Loved the atmosphere here! And the food was great! Started out with a meat samosa and it was perfectly cooked and spiced. The pastry was light and flaky, and not overly greasy. For my mean I got the salmon tikka masala. The sauce was a great consistency and again, everything was perfectly spiced. The service was great and the waitress was very friendly. It's my go to place for Indian and order almost weekly. I'm not a great reviewer because I order the same exact thing every time but what I get is the best around. Naan is fluffy and flavorful and the chicken tikka masala is flavorful, not too many veggies, and chicken is moist. read more

Vegetarian aloo gobee- dinner entree enough for one person For 1 and 2, the flavor profile of the seasonings were a bit different than what I'm used to compared to others but nothing objectionable. Oh my GOD, if I could give this place 50 STARS, I would do it!! I'm usually the type of person who loves to try different things, but their Lamb Korma is so sensational that I haven't been able to bring myself to order anything else! The seasoning is always exquisite, the meat is always tender, and the naan is always perfect. And the food is just as good as takeaway as it is served fresh in the restaurant. Side note about the restaurant: in addition to the cozy/beautiful atmosphere, they have the most competitively priced alcoholic beverages (basically the same as retail price). Not anything fancy, but some delicious middle of the road staples that let the food stay front and center. Thank God Sizzling Bombay is close to where we live! We always have a wonderful time at this restaurant. I always order the lamb saag but I'm never disappointed in any additional dish we order. My husband always orders the lamb chops. Not too many people inside when we visited, so it was rather quiet. The food was very good. I asked for a "10" in spiciness and I believe I got a 10. The buffet at Sizzling Bombay was as good as it's ever been today! I don't get there very often, and they had two dishes that were new to me: Chicken Biriyani and Chilly Chicken. Both were spicy and delicious. The traditional buffet items (Tandoori Chicken, Palak Paneer, Chicken Tikka Masala, and too many more to mention) were also terrific. The food is good but my last two deliveries lack a little luster. I ordered the buttered chicken and it was more sauce and not much chicken.

I'm no Indian food connoisseur so take this with a grain of salt (or rice), but I liked it. I don't like spicy foods and I found everything at this buffet to be relatively mild and, thus, palatable. The service sucks. We came for lunch and there was only one guy clearing plates and getting the drinks/naan to the tables. I was done shoveling in my first plate of food before there was a coke in front of me. As such, on my second round, several of the buffet trays were already empty. In general, I'm not a fan of buffets. I don't like feeling like I need to gorge to get my money's worth, but boss man footed the bill (is there a past tense for this expression? In my most recent visit, my son and I were driving home from a soccer game in Philly and we decided to stop by for lunch since we had a craving for Indian food. We ordered the garlic naan, paneer kulcha, goat vindaloo, and lamb mazedar, with the latter two being level 7 heat. The sauces in both dishes were excellent, both with very distinct flavors, acidity, and richness. The sauces are the star in the show, to be honest. You could probably add any protein in the sauces and it would turn out just as delicious. I have to admit, the goat wasn't as tender as I'd like it and we got a lot of bones in our vindaloo dish, but it didn't deter us from finishing it and licking the plate.
