The dealerships wouldn't help because I had not bought a BMW OEM motor at over $600 (I bought a 3rd party motor that had an identical spec to the OEM motor for under $200). I contacted Joe's because, honestly, the name sounded like a local shop that wouldn't give me a run around. I was right. The gave me an appointment for that week. I waited in the shop while they installed the motor in under 1.5 hours and was on my way for under $200. So, BMW was going to charge me over $1,000 for parts/labor. With Joe's garage, I was able to get it done for under $400. Huge savings and very happy customer.

My car was taken to AAMCO for a leaking transmission and after getting it back, dashboard lights…read morestarting turning on for unrelated issues. After doing some additional repairs the car was returned, however dashboard lights reappeared and they were unable to resolve it after multiple attempts. Shortly after while driving the steering assembly on the car completely fell apart requiring a flatbed tow, had this happened at higher speed on a highway this could have resulted in a fatality. The certified dealership mechanics who examined the car afterwards found that AAMCO failed to tighten the bolts to spec and all of the cotter safety pins were missing allowing the steering system to fail. Extensive damage was done to the underside of the car and it is currently not usable. After seeing the extensive damage, my dealership will not recommend AAMCO Ballwin to any of their customers in the future.

Due to recommendation, I had the car towed to Mastertech Auto in Ellisville, MO. I was told they were honest and had a lot of integrity. Well, that was absolutely the truth!! I really could not believe the service that I received from this place. I dealt with Rick and he couldn't have been more honest and realistic about what was wrong with my car. Further, he didn't keep me waiting. His assessment was quick, he called me when he said he would and he followed up with me in the exact timeframe he committed to. A flesh eating amoeba? No, it was a small, shiny, devil of a creature. A nail had attacked my tire and was proudly poised for me to see in all of its villainous glory. It was already 6:45 and many tire shops would be closed or closing soon, but Dobb's-that bright shining beacon of tire repair-is open until 8. I arrived around 7 and told them I would wait for them to repair my (not so) beloved minivan's tire. It seems there had been an epidemic of tire eating nails in the Ellisville area that evening as no less than 4 other victims arrived to pick up their nail inflicted vehicles. Dobb's repaired my tire and did not try to sell me new tires, a new transmission, new brakes, or anything that every other repair shop seems to think I need.
