This place was honestly the worst food that I've ever experienced at a restaurant. The quality was horrible, overpriced, and the dishes didn't even make sense. The $15 "Caesar salad" was literally one leaf lol. The $50 steak had absolutely no flavor and was overcooked. I never leave reviews but I'm hoping I can save someone else from this atrocious experience. I wish that we were warned. Do not waste your money here. We had to go get food after this cuz it was just inedible. Cannot believe we actually had to pay for that. Go literally anywhere else in town. Idk how this place is still open read more

We were staying at the St Elmo Hotel next door so stopped in for drinks/dessert and we were not disappointed. Adam the bartender took great care of us. He made fantastic recommendations and very knowledgeable. We will come back. read more

This place has potential but poor management. The oil and vinegar dispensers were sticky/gross while the host appeared to have nothing to do... maybe she could clean the dispensers. Plates did not come so we ate out of the bread basket. One of the staff was wearing a shirt that said "not today", and had ripped jeans and was wearing tennis shoes. After waiting a while to get our appetizer, it was mediocre and was delivered just warm. We liked the location, and the inside was quaint and romantic. Wine prices were reasonable for the area. A good manager could turn this place around quickly. read more

Stopped in to grab dinner and though the wine list looks extensive and the food menu looks good we were terribly disappointed in the food. Wine was okay, nothing great to write home about. Especially compared to the wine tasting we did in town. We ordered the gnocchi to share. States with a brown butter sauce and came out displayed in a bowl, dry, no sauce, the gnocchi were almost as big as the granny Smith apples that were way too big for the dish. Very little flavor and under seasoned. I would definitely recommend NOT getting the gnocchi. Service was friendly and good. Food was not good. The restaurant has apparently changed ownership recently, and I almost didn't go based on the small number of reviews. That would have been a terrible mistake. What a wonderful experience I had for dinner. I had the chicken Marsala. It was excellent, as were the accompanying mashed potatoes and asparagus. Very disappointing is how I'd describe our experience. First we waited over an hour for our food only to find it was cold when it arrived. Seriously people there exists a reasonable expectation that food is not cold. Moreover the broccoli was not cooked. Portions here all around are very small. That includes the wine pours. Food options are very limited. Mashed potatoes with gravy with salmon? Really? Whoever is in charge here needs to get it together. Oh the bread was store bought. Unbelievable. We stopped in for dinner last weekend, and boy what a great choice! Excellent wine menu, the food was tasty, and you're in a cool antique dining room. What do we say. It was the most disappointing food experience we've ever had. Our server was polite, but the food and drinks were absolutely horrendous. To start, their caprese salad is a SINGLE slice of tomato, basil and mozzarella for $15, their Caesar salad is so far from a Caesar, I'm not even sure what I actually ate, let alone a kid size potion with a single piece of romaine (picture to follow). Both drinks we ordered were terrible, but we felt bad sending back two drinks (because our server was actually nice) so we simply sent back the one that was so bad we couldn't get it down. Then, to top it off, the main course was so bad (we ordered Filet), that we didn't even finish either meals, my boyfriend had to slather it in A1 to get the few bites he actually ate down. We should've walked out the second we got the appetizers and saved $180 on garbage. I NEVER write negative reviews, but I was so unhappy, I felt robbed and don't want anyone else to waste their money here when you can walk 50ft across the street to the absolutely incredible Brick House and get your moneys worth. read more

Quaint restaurant, reminded me of a place when I was in Italy. Walked downstairs with classical Italian music playing. We were immediately sat, brought some tasty bread with butter, warm marinara and oil/balsamic. We ordered the Ceaser that had bright notes with sun dried tomatoes and lightly dressed. Delicious dining experience from the start. The filet, scallops and pasta were perfectly prepared with accompanied sauces. My personal favorites were the fig appetizer and tiramisu " To Die For". The dining area is beautiful and reminiscent of the mining town's history. This restaurant is on our repeat list for delicious food and ambiance. I've never done a review but our experience here was so bad I had to share. First I couldn't order a popular drink at the bar as the bar tender could only make the 18 items on her menu. Oh my gosh. Then my dinner plate arrived cold. I mean refrigerator cold. How can that happen. Did they cook my steak that afternoon and leave it on the counter. I asked for reheating and my potatoes were refrigerator cold to the touch still. They comped my salad for $14 of a $125 meal for two. They should have comped my entree. Won't go here again. Wow. I was so excited for Italian but disappointed would be an understatement. We had to order to go because we had a sick kid at home and these meals tasted like they could have been frozen 10 minutes before we picked them up. Not to mention that everything was caked in oil. We had a caesar salad, shrimp scampi, and the tortellini. The atmosphere was really neat when I picked it up, the patio was pretty. So disappointed that the menu has changed. No beef Wellington and the house salad had so much lemon in the dressing nobody could have more than a few bites. This was an amazing meal! I am Gf but my family is not and we all found wonderful dishes for dinner. We got there early, with a 7 year old. Server was super attentive and helpful, very nice and accommodating to our daughter. We sat on the patio on a gorgeous summer evening and had a view of the falls and peaks. Had arancini for appetizer which was unique and good. Group all had pasta dishes which were fresh made with amazing flavors. Even the bread was homemade and good enough to get its own to-go box. This was a highlight of our day trip to Ouray and would highly recommend! read more
