    Ribeye, garlic mashed potatoes, veggies

We were passing through Ouray and decided to have dinner in this cute town. We were obviously outsiders but were treated kindly nonetheless. Short wait so we poked around town for a few. Staff was friendly and they had a great pianist. I got the ribeye- i honestly wished it had a little more flavor but it was still good. Wife got the filet - she ordered it medium but it was closer to well. The bread was great!

Right in downtown Ouray, this restaurant has a honky tonk vibe. Good wait staff and there's a piano player too. John Wayne ate here! Good cocktails and passable wine list. The steaks and prime rib are always solid. Had the chipotle shrimp appetizer. Spicy and flavorful. Had steak for dinner. Awesome. We always come here when we're in town. Recommend.

Warm bread, cold martini, delicious prime rib, friendly service and live music... what else could you want?! Thanks, Outlaw!

First night in Ouray we stopped here, very good prime rib and potato. Salad was ok, a little warm. Bread was very good. Husband got ribeye, no complaints. Service was great and waitress was nice. There was a piano player inside.

Piano player and Bar Grill. Best place in Ouray. Gabby is the best bartender and the steaks are the best ever!

Best steak house in Ouray and best experience with the piano player. Gabby is the best bartender by far, a pleasure. You will not be disappointed.

After an epic day of hiking in Ouray and driving the Million Dollar Highway, a gargantuan sized dinner was desperately needed. The Outlaw Restaurant came highly recommended. Located right off the main drag in Ouray, this place is blessed with a storied past all while doing it the old school way. Colorado mountain vibes are extremely evident when you walk in. It's really a Western-style saloon with an emphasis on its restaurant at the forefront. When we dined in we were graced with a live piano player who played classic hits throughout our meal. *Keep in mind, this is a nicer dining establishment than it appears from the road. We were slightly soaked from the rain after our long hike, however the staff didn't' bat an eye at all. I really appreciated that because I felt like I was dressed way down comparatively to the guests in the dining room.* Diamond Jim Brady Cut 12 oz ($43) // Served with garlic mashed potatoes and mixed vegetables. Prime Rib was cooked well and the horseradish and jus it was served with was excellent. I did ask for medium rare and this came out more medium. Post hike, does it matter? I devoured the whole thing! The bar, the atmosphere, the history...all of it makes sense in the old mining town of Ouray. Great dinner in a lively environment, I'd totally come back for dinner when back in town!

The ordering process is simple: grab a menu when you enter, find a seat, and place your order at the counter when you're ready. The staff was professional, polite, and welcoming throughout our visit. The breakfast burrito was outstanding, easily the best one I had during my time in Colorado. It was perfectly prepared, complete with beautiful panini-style grill marks that added both texture and flavor. I was also impressed by the extensive selection of hot sauces, with options to suit just about every taste. In addition to the food, they offer a great selection of local craft beers. Unfortunately, it was only 9:30 in the morning, so I wasn't able to take advantage of that part of the menu! One of the highlights is the large window overlooking the mountains surrounding the town, providing a beautiful backdrop while you dine. This is the kind of place that makes you want to linger a little longer, and I will definitely return the next time I'm in the area.

We walked in the door and was warmly greeted by the only guy we saw working there. He was grinding up coffee, which smelled really good! We read the sign that said to take a menu, pick a table, then go to the counter and order your meal. We went to the counter and the friendly guy. Let us smell the copy that he was grinding. We then placed our order for one brisket entrée, and one salmon entrée. Then we asked him about splitting a Caesar, and he said sure. After paying for the meal upfront, he pointed us to the table where we could pick up our napkins, utensils, and get some water. This is a very self service place. That's fine. There was only one other couple in the restaurant that had gotten there before us so they were not busy. About 15 minutes, went by and we wondered if we were ever going to get our Caesar salad. A few minutes later, our food was served to us, including a small Caesar salad that was not split. We quickly mentioned with surprised that oh the salad comes out with the food? Our server smiled and said: enjoy. We eat out quite often and we can rarely think of any time that a salad came out with the meal. It's designed to keep you happy and give you something refreshing to eat while they're back in the kitchen cooking your meal. We figured when they came out to check with us, we would mention that it was too late and could they remove it from our bill. However, the entire time we ate our meal, no one ever came to check on us. The gentleman we ordered from along with a lady chatted the entire time at the counter as we were eating. They only passed by our table after a patron came in looking for something he thought he might've left there earlier. When she came and asked to clear our plates, I asked if that's typical that the salad comes out with the entrées because we no longer want the salad. She said she was sorry that our server didn't ask if we wanted it early or with the meal. Then she took our plates away and left the Caesar salad sitting there. It's really too bad we had such a poor experience as we were planning to come back for breakfast in the morning, based on the reviews. It's funny because on our bill, it's listed as an $11 "starter" Caesar salad. My husband said his brisket was average, a little dry, except when he got a good fatty part. The potatoes and the vegetables were good. My salmon was just slightly overcooked, but very delicious and I really enjoyed the taste of my meal. For us, customer service is as much a part of the experience as the food. Judging by the reviews, this hopefully is a one off.
