Yep - I'll concur with Helena B...Upstairs is adorably random. If you seek a cornucopia of gifty,…read morecute-ish items, Upstairs Boutique is your jam. The store is owned by a lovely lady who curates goods from all over. I was especially a fan of the leather cuffs accented by metal rings and the completely over the top cute stitched change purses with random sayings plastered on them. At $5 a piece, these precious little change purses are the perfect on-hand gift. My personal fave it the red and goldenrod circus-esque option that says Boss Lady on one side and "Show Em The Bacon That Yer Makin" on the other. Beyond those goodies, Upstairs Boutique has a small selection of clothing and a baby/kids area near the back. If you're feeling gifty, drop by Upstairs Boutique.

I purchased an item at the shop a few years ago, and after getting the thumbs down from my daughter, I returned it, only to be handed a useless piece of paper--a store credit. I am very good about recalling details and do not remember receiving verbal notice about "store credit only returns" nor do I recall being told the store credit is only good for one year. I just literally handed that woman $55 for absolutely nothing while being forced to honor her shoddy business practices. In this day and age with wonderful selections and store policies, elsewhere, I don't see how she continues this narrow and unethical business practice. Her clothing/gift selection is certainly nothing special, so you'd be wiser, in this case, to not shop local.

The staff goes above and beyond to make sure your experience is the best it can be and that you don't leave disappointed. They truly are the reason I give this place 5 stars. The store is no different then any other Torrid I have been to besides the size. They always have lots of sales at this location which I love. The parking is never a problem since it's in a shopping village. This place is a one stop shop because of all the other stores in the area as well!

Today was the second time I have visited this store. Each time, was a different location. Today I…read morestopped in at the Mt. Prospect store. I could not have had a better expensive! To begin with, upon walking in, I was immediately greeted, warm and genuinely, by both associates. The store was very neat, and well put together. For what from the outside appeared to be a relatively small store front, I was pleasantly surprised at the wide amount and different variety of clothing there was to choose from. I'm not a great shopper. I'm more used to wearing old bleach stained shirts with(unintentional holes). I was a bit out of my element, and slightly embarrassed. Both woman made me feel immediately welcome and at ease. They started by asking me some questions about my general style (non-existant)and what I thought I'd feel comfortable in. They both got to work pulling various items, like experts, with ease, and neatly placing them in a dressing room. They helped me through out the entire process. They made me feel comfortable, not rushed or pressured. I ended up buying several pieces, that I was thrilled over, and in addition, they happily help additional pieces I wanted, but wasn't able to purchase until the next day after I got paid. My one and only little downside, was I did feel the cost of the clothing was quite pricey. Unfortunately, that will keep me from being able to frequent the store as frequently as I truly would like. If it were not for that, I would hands down have given 5 stars! I highly recommend Torrid!

It's an older though renovated Kohl's and usually very quiet and you kind of wonder if they will survive the next franchise downsizing. They are in a strip mall and have a huge and open parking lot. When I came in I headed toward the order pickup section. When I arrived at the "self pickup", nothing made sense. I didn't have anything that corresponded to the number system they had so I didn't know where the heck to pick up my item. Their site didn't indicate they offered curbside pickup (I checked my email just in case I'd misunderstood how I was to pick it up). I called and was on hold about six minutes because no one ever picked up. (There were 20+ people in line and I didn't want to wait around there just to be told to go elsewhere; what's the point of pickup if not to be quick?) Finally I found an associate not behind a cash register and he went to get my order, which was in the back and not at all in correspondence to the system they had out on the floor. I guess maybe they expect people to stand in line? But that doesn't make sense when their pickup system says you should check your email to pick up your item. I don't know.
