We are so happy that we selected Ed to complete our sink repair! After meeting with a few other general contractors for ideas on how to deal with our non-standard sink/countertop issue, we decided to install a top-mount sink, which was not our preferred style, but oh well. Since it is a smaller job than most general contractors are willing to take on, we looked at several other options. This is where Ed came in. We were stressed out and after without hot water for several months, just wanted to have a new sink installed quickly and professionally. Ed met with us a day or so after we contacted him, and I liked him right away. He is clearly experienced in his field, but he also struck me an honest business owner with a strong sense of integrity. Unfortunately, that's really difficult to find when searching for someone to work on your home. Right away I knew that Ed would be able to do the job correctly and quickly, and would provide us with a fair price. He came to our appointment, and unfortunately our countertop needed an additional small adjustment in order for the new sink to fit. Rather than to try to do a quick job and scrounge together tools that might work for a countertop fix, Ed asked if he could come back after our vacation to do the job with the right tools. I was all for it as we both agreed that he needed the right tools to shave off the quarter inch of countertop necessary to do the correct installation. On our second appointment, Ed was back bright and early. He completed the job quickly and efficiently, and cordoned off the sink area so that none of the fine dust particles would make their way to the rest of our home. I was so appreciative of that and the other little details he did to fix our sink problem. Our water heater broke and I called Edward on Saturday to set an appointment for next Wednesday. I ordered the replacement part that was needed and it came on Tuesday . My parents waited for Edward and he told us that the igniter replacement part was broken in shipping. He said he wouldn't charge us because it wasn't our fault and we didn't know. Thank you, Ed, for providing a lot of consultation on a dishwasher installation that wasn't there before. In short, I've never had a dishwasher in my home. I consulted Ed to get an estimate on the dishwasher size and installation/hookups to be compliant with City law after reading all the reviews on Yelp. After a long consultation, Ed provided a lot of advice on what type of dishwasher could go in. I wanted to verify if he could perform cabinetry work to a certain standard, but that's when he declined to respond with quote. To be honest, at that point in time, I just took the response decline to be a "no." My only recommendation here is to be upfront in declining what can be done, so the customer would not be waiting for an answer/misunderstand it to be rudeness. Then, a few months later after I finally got the dishwasher he recommended and had separate cabinetry work performed, I got a few other quotes for the hookup/install. I followed up with him again on the quote, thinking that maybe the decline to respond before was due to the cabinetry request. I was able to get a response from him with a reasonable quote for just the hookup/install (plumbing portion), but now, I was facing a time crunch... so I opted for another plumber. I am giving 5 stars though, because Ed hasn't misled me into thinking that he could do more than he could offer and offered a lot of detailed plumbing information. His recommended dishwasher also fits perfectly into my existing layout, which, was really cool, because I spent a lot of time browsing through dishwashers. It was the only one that could fit so well in an existing cabinet layout. So, clearly he is very knowledgeable and a good problem solver. He also has a good grasp of legality. read more

We have had Eddie from Bonafide out to do work at our house three times. All three times he has delivered incredible service and labor that far exceeds what we ever could have expected. The first visit was to re-fasten a toilet that had become unmoored. Eddie did so and pointed out that we would eventually need to address the flooring beneath the toilet. In the meantime, the toilet was fixed and went back to working as it should. Sure enough, the flooring caused a similar problem a year later (if we had listened to Eddie it wouldn't have been a problem). Eddie came back, created a temporary fix for the toilet and even opened up our downstairs ceiling to see how much unseen damage the leak had caused. As this all happened we were in the midst of the appraisal process for a home refinance, so we had a very tight timeline for all work that needed to be done. When our flooring guys found that the subfloor needed to be replaced, Eddie made some calls and found someone who could do the work the next day. This is a testament to Eddie's reputation in the trades and professional contacts. The guy he got, Wayne, showed up THE NEXT MORNING and fixed the subfloor right as the flooring guys got there to install the overlay. As they started working, Eddie showed up, as promised, to patch our ceiling. When he finished that he went upstairs and installed our new toilet. I cannot sing Eddie's praises enough. He is good at his job, charges reasonable prices for top-of-the-line work, and is a good and honorable man who goes above and beyond for his clients. Today, I had Edward come over to look at my dish washer as it wasn't draining properly. He called me two weeks ago and asked a variety of questions and tried to solve it for me over the phone so that I didn't need to have him over and spend money. When we couldn't find the solution (without him actually coming over and taking my dish washer apart) he decided he needed to come over. Today, he came and spent about 45 minutes working on the dish washer and I can happily say that he fixed it! There was a ton of gunk stuck and he got them all out and even blew on the inside of the air cap to make sure everything was clean (which I don't know if he should've because it looked pretty dirty in there ) but overall, very happy with the service and level of care received.
