The food here is delicious. I was upset with myself that I had waited so long to try it after spending nearly a year hanging out in Prospect Lefferts Gardens. I was recommended this restaurant by a friend, I was looking for a place to take a friend for Sunday brunch because she had a bday. This spot is an Italian restaurant but they do a brunch on Sundays, upon arrival the host was pleasant the place was very busy and packed so I was excited to see that cause in my head that mean the food is the bomb . They have a pretty simple brunch menu straight to the point I order the eggs, hash brown and butter toast which I add jelly, the hash brown was crunchy which I didn't care for, my friend had the veggie breakfast burger and she enjoyed it but didn't care for the hash brown as well, her daughter had the French toast which she liked but she said it was too thick for her liking. Overall the brunch was okay I was hoping it would have been better. I would like to go back and try them out for there dinner and even though brunch wasn't all that for me I would recommend trying them out. read more

This was going to be a one-star review, but staff on the next shift saved it. To the female barista working around 3:00pm today- if someone comes to the bar and says hi, it's possible to acknowledge them as you continue your conversation with a friend/other customer. Going on to wash the dishes while ignoring that I've been sitting and waiting to place an order, the only other person in the entire spot, is called rude. No one's thrilled about the neighborhood being gentrified, but you chose to work at the center of it. Stop taking it out on customers and other POC. Between experiences of being talked down to by white staff and ignored by others- I can do without this place. read more

We came on a rainy Saturday late morning and were worried about the wait after noticing a dozen other hungry guests crammed into the super small lobby. The host was very diligent and attentive so our wait wasn't bad. As a Southern Californian, I have had my share of avocado toast but I have to say Bonafini has hit it out if the ballpark with theirs. Very good vibes and good wine with solid pours, but the food isn't very good. We ordered two appetizers and two entrees and we didn't finish any of the dishes. The food wasn't very flavorful, except overwhelmingly fishy in a way that seemed just kind of thrown together without real calculation of the ingredients. I did NOT enjoy my experience! First off we had to wait over an hour to get a table. We were seated outside in their backyard and immediatly ordered: French Toast, Pancakes, Sausage, Bacon, Eggs and Lattes. We were enjoying our drink when the food arrived. All the sides were placed on their own seperate plates, which doesn't make sense since the tables are small outside. That's when the waiter accidently spilled my coffee on me and my cellphone which was on the table. The waiter did bring me a towel to dry myself off and brought me another latte. I really didn't want to make a show because I am a person of color and know very well that in white restaurants that does not go well. I tried to move pass the incident but the food was not good. The french toast was extremely hard and the bacon was undercooked. I was suprised when I received the bill and wasn't compensated a percentage for the incident. I still left a tip because I know how terrible the food industry is and afterall we are still living in a pandemic. Overall I will not be going back and there are several other restaurants in the area that I prefer to go to. read more

The wait time on a Saturday for brunch was not that bad. We had a party of 5. They seated us out on the patio at two of their round tables, so we were a bit squished, but we did not mind too much. We ordered drinks:, bloody mary, aperol spritz and rose lemonades. The latter two drinks were extremely watered down. I would never recommend this place for drinks. I have attached a photo of what looks like my water glass, but was actually supposed to be a rose lemonade. My friend's was a little less watered down, but there was so much ice that I am sure it was melting to be more and more watery -- not ideal... The food, however, was pretty good. We ordered the montrealer, pancakes, french toast and I had the fritatta. My fritatta was a bit overcooked, but it was still wonderful. The montrealer had rave reviews from my two friends that ordered it. The pancakes and french toast were also a welcome indulgence. Would recommend this place if you are in the neighborhood. Soup arrived late, to make things worse. Coffee is great, and so is the chocolate croissant. Service is not very good, and the place seems to be always packed. We got the egg sandwich on the croissant and the blueberry pancakes (specifically asked for no chocolate chips). The egg entree was amazing!! We also ordered a side of 2 overeasy eggs ($4) so we could share the sandwich. The crispy fries were delish. It also came with a small arugula salad with EVOO and lemon juice on, I'm guessing. The baristas were very friendly despite the mad rush of people. And it didn't bother me to wait at the bar for my drink. While we were there Sunday brunch was going on. This was a bit distracting because the place was legitimately JAM packed. I mean barely a foot of space for anyone to walk. I was originally going to give 4 stars because of the live band that was playing -- who isn't impressed with a live band? Then I remembered that it was super crowded and barely any space. I get that he was busy and the restaurant was full but he was impatient with us and he didn't come back to our table for awhile. He basically through the check on the table.
