Picked this spot because they had convenient free delivery to work. We just paid tip. Note: It would be beneficial if you speak Spanish, but they had someone else, that spoke English, take my order over the phone. -Asada torta. 4/5 -Cali burrito. Tortilla was really hard. Mostly fries. Very fatty asada. Pico de gallo was delicious. After reading what it was supposed to have in it, it was a complete fail. No rice or beans or onions or cilantro. Only had fries, Asada, a tiny amount of sour cream and 1 piece of lettuce. 1/5 -Sausage breakfast quesadilla. Just basic. Too many potatoes. Barely any egg. Barely any cheese. Would not get again. 2/5 -Aguachiles. Very spicy but delicious. Lots of sauce. Too much that it spilled all inside the bag and tons of sauce was still in the container. 5/5 -Ceviche mixed boat. Good mix of seafood. Good amount for price, but not enough lime juice, so not too flavorful. 3.5/5 -Baja fish taco combo. Tacos were small. 3.75/5 -Free chips tasted like they were made in older grease. Nobody ate them. Will we order again? Maybe for the convenience. Will we order different items? Definitely.

My family and I have been a regular here ever since I was younger. It brings back so much nostalgia and joy for us to be here. Unfortunately, I think they changed management a few years ago. Ever since then it hasn't been the same. Went here today with my family and our waitress definitely wasn't familiar with the breakfast menu. There were combos that didn't actually include things on the menu (ex, the french toast combo doesn't come with hashbrown). We waited around 30-40 mins for our food, and it was just alright. Our combos came with toast too, and when we asked the waitress for it, she said "you have to ask when you want it, we don't just give it". I didn't know we had to ask for the food we paid for? Ever since management changed, we've tried to come back several times because we really enjoyed it before. Unfortunately I think this is the last time we'll be coming here.

The staff was nice, but paid far more attention to the tables with single men. That being said, we came about 1500 and there were only three tables with people so we hit the sweet spot time-wise. We shared five tacos then had individual entrees. I'll get into the details below. Tacos: we had the street tacos with cilantro, no onion. The corn tortillas were well prepared, we were able to make two tacos from each one ordered without the tortillas collapsing or tearing; definitely a treat. Al Pastor. I'm not usually a fan of Al Pastor, but here it wasn't overly sweet. My son said it wasn't the best he'd had, so we agreed to disagree. Pollo. The chicken was juicy and subtly flavored; although I prefer the hard chicken tacos at Baja Sonora, these were really good. Carnitas. The meat was juicy and really tasty. Birria. Very juicy and flavorful. Shrimp. Oh yum! The shrimp were of a good size, juicy and wonderfully seasoned. They weren't tiny, nor were they so large that they spilled from the tortilla; just a really good size to star in this taco. I ordered my usual "first time at a new restaurant" order of the chile verde plate. After the chips, salsa, and tacos I had to take most of it home, but only did so because I was taught not to waste food. Although the meat was tender, the sauce completely lacked flavor and the texture was...odd. The refried beans weren't bad, but the rice was completely dried out and crunchy hard. My son ordered the carne asada burrito, wet. He ate about half and shared a bite of the asada which was not seasoned at all. It also had no char so the texture was more braised meat than grilled meat. I was very happy we hadn't ordered a carne asada taco. All that being said, the chips and salsa were really (really) good. The chips were crispy, but not greasy or salty, and the salsa was a blended, not chunky, salsa full of flavor with no seeds or stems (don't ask! Lol) We'll definitely be back, but will only have chips, salsa, and tacos next time.

This place is a Hit or Miss!!! I liked going here, but it's a hit or miss! Sometimes it's good and sometimes is bad!! Last 2 times been a miss for me. 1st time ..they fuck up my order then I get a piece of plastic in my food! ‍ Didn't drive back, I ate it but I was grossed out and just keep checking on my food.. 2nd time I ordered the Birria de Res with rice and beans the meat had nothing but fat & the nerve ! It was discussing I didn't even eat it! I wouldn't Recommend this place! I will be staying away!

    Aguachiles, watery & lacks spice

I came here because Tacos El Cuervo down the street was randomly closed. Visually: Really nice art. Colorful, vibrant and eye catching! they have tall comfy booths on the perimeter and tables in the center. They have jukebox my daughter and I used. $1 per song. That's pretty cool! There wasn't anyone in here, so I can't really speak of the ambiance or people around. Service: Service was good. Not exceptional. Very sweet woman. Didn't check in on us, so my daughter had to walk up and tell her she wanted ice cream for dessert. Still nice though. Food: Tacos Tuesday- so I ordered a taco de papa, carnitas, and papa. All of them were 3/5. Maybe the taco de papa was a 4/5. It had repollo, diced tomato, lettuce and the papa was nice and salty. So, it was flavorful. The Carnitas was really bland and dry. My daughter's chicken Tacos (she asked for cheese on top) were not grilled. The chicken looked like they just took it out the caldo pot. So it was boiled chicken. Not good. Aguachiles-Okay, I am particular with aguachiles, I eat them often and pay attention to details. The plating was esthetically pleasing because the pepino and onion were so thinly sliced. However, this is part of the reason why I think it lacked in flavor. The lemon juice marinade was really watery and doesn't taste like they put enough spices or chile. It was not spicy, at all. I had to use the limes they give you for the table, salt. Pepper, and asked for their spiciest salsa to add to my Camerones. A good aguachile by my definition would be SPICY, marinate a little more thick consistency (not watery), good slices of pepino that I can scoop a shrimp with, good slices of onion for extra flavor. This was just an underwhelming food experience.

I'll have to give this location another shot. There were three customers sitting together at a table who received food and drinks. I place my order for the classics burger, no cheese, no onions, no thousand island dressing. Bacon,Pickles, tomatoes, lettuce, mustard and mayo. Burger arrived 15 min later with nothing but pickles and meet I ordered a margarita that was PURE SURGAR not sure what happened but I'll def give another chance. Expect to wait long for beverages and food to come out.

Portion does not equal price, very little meat.
    Wendy W.

Price does not equal portion. $16 for huevos con chili verde. Literally had 5 squares of pork. And a charge to use credit card. My bill was $35.28 and they charged a $1.41 "fee" for credit card on top of that! New owners are greedy. The busboy is gone, the servers have to wait tables and clean. I use to love this place, I will NEVER go back!

My Carne Asada Chilaquiles & Eggs= SOOOO GOOD! hefty servings, had to bring it home.
    Dani S.

Just wow. I miss my family up in Norther Cali and especially their cooking. My bf and I came across this and their food is so good! And affordable. The best chilaquilles ive had in a while. Ps- portions are large, you'll definitely need a to-go box.

Well besides them taking over 30 mins to bring us our food my bacon avocado burger was burnt!!

It has a smokiness and umami to it that I have never experienced in a clam chowder, and it is FANTASTIC!!! Then I had one mushroom taco, one pork belly taco, and an empanada (I couldn't eat the empanada come out because I was too full from everything else). The pork belly was cooked perfect. Fell apart in my mouth with just a fantastic flavor and texture, and the mushroom tacos were so on point. Not to mention the service here. Veronica was absolutely delightful. She took a lot of pride in their food, and let her talented husband has produced. You absolutely must give Black Pork a try. There are tiny little gem, that's absolutely priceless.

My favorite was the shrimp followed by the pork. The shrimp were cooked to perfection and sitting on a bed of cheese which I didn't expect. The spicy mango salsa complimented it perfectly. They also provided an amazing green salsa too but I used it sparingly not wanting to cover up the flavors. If you're a shrimp fan these tacos are a must. Since pork is in their name I had to get the pork belly. The meat was melt in your mouth tender and delicious but the skin was really hard to bite through. I used a knife to cut it up which helped. I wish it had more of a chicharron texture but I still loved them. The mushroom one was my least favorite. It was good but not much flavor. The green salsa came in handy for that taco. To drink I tried the "guava and spices" iced tea. She made this to order and I was blown away by the flavors. Service was friendly and the restaurant had counter, tables, and patio seating. Parking is nonexistent. Zero parking at 10:45am. Had to park in a residential area around the corner. I truly loved the food and will definitely be back. They had an interesting variety of choices on the menu from chillaquillas to porchetta with mashed potatoes.

We had a reservation for six and the hostess greeted us and sat us right away. Our server, Nate, was fantastic. He knew the menu and answered all of our questions. He even explained how some of the drinks were made. Later we found out he was actually one of the bartenders helping out as a server for the night. Which made sense considering how well he knew how the drinks were made. He was attentive and checked on us often to make sure everything was going well. One thing that made him stand out was, he actually conversed with us rather than just asking if we needed anything and then leaving. The Old Fashioned was one of the smoothest and best I've probably ever had. My nephew ordered the Ube Painkiller after Nate described how it was made. I had a sip, and the ube flavor really came through without overpowering the drink and it was perfectly matched with the dark rum, which Nate said came from the Caribbean. The Brussels sprouts had a nice mix of tender and crispy pieces that gave additional texture. The calamari was tender and the pesto style sauce paired real good with it. The Thai curry sea bass was flavorful, flaky, and had the right amount of spice. The cioppino had a rich shellfish flavor in the broth and I appreciated that the tomato base didn't have such an acidic taste. We also shared the tomahawk, which was juicy, cooked perfectly, and had a sprinkle of coarse salt that really brought out the flavor. Overall, we had a great experience. The food was excellent, but Nate's service really made our night special, making us feel right at home.

Happy hour was happening which we took advantage of. It was 4.00 off appetizer, 2.00 off draft wine and beer. Also, they made sure that our little pup was well taken care of as well. Food wise, an order of the poke wrap. Nice chunks of ahi with a scoop of rice, lettuce, avocado and wasabi sauce. It was good but a little messy. As it would be with all of the lettuce wraps. The steamed mussels which is a must. The broth was delicious and served with two nice thick slices of toasted bread. Decent size mussels cooked deliciously in the broth. A must try. Lastly the calamari which was tossed with jalapeños. Both deep fried and quite tasty. Nice crunch to it but not overly cooked. That was also served with two dipping sauce. Everything was delicious. Towards the end of the meal, Melinda noticed that a bug was in my wine which she was very sweet about and made sure to take care of it. The simple little gesture was greatly appreciative. The whole experience was excellent. Everyone was the sweetest and friendliest. Will definitely be back.

THIS PLACE RIGHT HERE!!! All surrounding brunch spots... meet your match…read more This family-owned gem is about to take over the downtown brunch scene. My family and I stopped in on a Saturday around 10 a.m. The place was already packed with a line out the door, but don't let that scare you. The wait moved fast, and the staff ran that dining room like a well-oiled machine while somehow making you feel like you were a guest in their home. You order at the front, grab your number, then impatiently wait for greatness. Right away, the baristas were brewing, shaking, and stirring up some of the best drinks I've had in a long time. Matcha, mochas... Starbucks could NEVER. I ordered the banana strawberry matcha and an iced mocha. While I was at the counter, I obviously had to grab pastries because... self-control wasn't invited. The display alone had me ready to order 14 of 'em. I went with the tiramisu cookie, guava croissant, and strawberry cream croissant. Now for the main event. There were four of us, so naturally we ordered enough food for a small village. Savory pancakes, a bulgogi breakfast burrito with fries, steak and eggs, another breakfast burrito, and the Thai pizza. Yep. We came to eat. While we waited, I took in the atmosphere. The entire place felt warm and inviting. Sunlight poured through the windows, giving it the feeling of eating breakfast on your family's back patio. Just laughter, clinking forks, happy conversations, and those little "mmm" moments happening at every table. That's always a good sign. The Thai pizza hit the table first. Fresh out of the oven and straight to Flavor Town. The crust had to be handmade because there was no way something that good came from a freezer. The basil, sausage, and everything working together made this anything but your average pizza. It was different--in the best way possible. Five minutes later... Gone. Next up were the savory pancakes. At first glance, they looked simple. Then I took a bite. That little stack of fluffy pancakes topped with berry butter didn't even need syrup. THANK YOU for understanding that pancakes don't need to cover an entire plate to be memorable. These were soft, flavorful, perfectly sweet, and somehow disappeared before I could fully appreciate everything else on the plate. Speaking of everything else... The steamed eggs were light and fluffy. The hash browns? Listen... Whatever they're doing to those potatoes back there needs to be studied. They had the perfect golden crunch with this buttery goodness that made me question every hash brown I've ever eaten. Fried in beef tallow? Magic? I don't know. I just know I wanted another order immediately. The bacon deserved its own shoutout too. Fresh, crispy, and full of flavor--not bacon that was cooked at 5 a.m. and has been sitting around waiting for someone's Grand Slam order. This bacon had integrity. Then came the steak and eggs. The steak was tender, juicy, and seasoned perfectly. I had absolutely no interest in sharing. But somehow the potatoes still managed to steal part of the spotlight. Again... Those potatoes. Give me 14 of those babies to go. The breakfast burritos were packed with flavor, but those crispy potatoes inside gave them the texture that took them from good to unforgettable. And that green aioli? Bottle that stuff up. Immediately. This place just gets it. They understand that quality matters. Every ingredient tasted intentional, every dish felt like someone actually cared before it hit the table. Too many restaurants are cutting corners these days, and I will happily support businesses that refuse to compromise. Worth every penny. This is hands down one of the best brunch spots I've been to in a long time, and I already can't wait to come back. Do yourself a favor and go. Just don't blame me when there's a line.

This is probably why most people came in with online/phone orders for pickup and got the heck out of there in a hurry. Fries are okay at best but the onion rings are fantastic! I don't recommend the smash style burger because it's smaller and doesn't come with the fixings, but if that's your thing than by all means enjoy. I got the backyard bbq burger and it was very tasty. Not the best I've ever had but it definitely hits the spot and prices are not bad at all here. If I happen to be in the area again I would definitely be down to phone in my order and pickup for takeout to enjoy the tastiness somewhere I feel a little more comfortable. Staff was also very friendly - when they could be seen at least, but it was one cashier/server with two guys in the kitchen and although it's a small hole in the wall place there is still plenty to do if you're understaffed so I'm not even mad about it. Thanks ya'll!
